Ear of the Blind Wolf  

 

What I don't understand is that there are 5 other earings that drop in this zone from various named.All of which are better than this.They are also all droppable.Why are the good ones droppable and the crappy ones no-drop?Shouldn't it be the other way around?You would want to equip the no-drop good ones and sell the droppable crappy ones to lower levels.Oh well if they were no-drop I could not put 5wis earings on my cleric and druid :).The point is this though....If they don't want farming make the GOOD items no-drop not the crappy ones.

This ear is dropped by Warpaw Dankpelt, a named sonic wolf that spawns in the owlbear area if the sonic wolves defeat the owlbears that guard the owlbear cave.

I think the level to attain is a little high. Warpaw was green to a 52, probably in the low 30's in level. But he's the easy part, the harder part is to help the sonic wolves win; a group would need to help kill the owlbear defenders outside the owlbear cave. However, I believe a group of low 30's could easily have enough power to defeat the defenders (similar to groups of that level which I've seen camp the inside of the owlbear caves).

Ok, whats the point here? Unless this is a quest item, which I guess it could be, why even bother? At lvl 40 that are at least 50 things better than this.
