Dragonfly Saddle  

 

I have been using this mount for a few days now, and I have to say, this item gets an A+ from me. Here's why;

1. It's a very fast mount. Perhaps not as fast as the best SK or pally mounts, put this mount is extremely fast. It certainly gets the job done, that's for sure.

2. Stops and starts almost instantly. Just about as maneuverable as being on foot.

3. Sits low to the ground. This minimizes the 'your target is too far away, get closer' messages.

4. Awesome graphic. Although I realize this one comes down to personal preference, anyone can see that the level of detail - the complexity of textures used in the model - is higher than any mount I've yet seen. SOE put a lot of work into this one, and it shows. This mount will get you a lot of looks in the guild lobby (or anywhere).

5. This could be speculative, but here goes; I have used this mount to climb obstacles that are nearly vertical. An interesting feature is that while doing this, the mounts wings will often buzz rather violently, as if trying to 'fly over' the obstacle (it's possible all mounts are good climbers (to a point) and I never paid much attention, but there you have it). Considering it has six legs, i guess it makes sense, as insects can climb walls.

Disadvantages are that it does NOT fly, (but of course this means you are lower to the ground (as noted above) so it is easier (actually, very easy) to fight while mounted), and that you can only obtain it at the station cash store (at 1450 points, at least it's cheaper than some mounts).
