The Greater Charbone Skelly in Emerald Jungle, that drops the Shiny Emerald, can be found with the help of a tracker, that is if you dont want to spend hours running around in circles trying to find one by using Sense Undead. Once i got a tracker, it was a matter of minuits before we finally found a charbone to kill and loot.
It would be really nice if people would put useful info on this rather than rants. For example, I have gotten all of the required items, but cannot find the damn skelle that drops Heart of Torsis in EJ. Maybe someone could comment on how / where they got thier's?
So we were in EJ for 2 days camping the damn charbone using sense undead and logging low lvl ranger every now and then to track.....dont do it! Make a friend, pay for a friend....whatever u have to do to get a tracker to help do it. Later the 2nd night a ranger joined us, 15 minutes later we got it...its the one carrying the ulak and shield. He was wayyyyyy out there at the northern corner walking near the wall, we would have never found him on our own. All the charbones we killed seemed to spawn before the stairs on the Feild of bone side, we killed about 20 in all before we got the gem.
Found the charbone on the FoB side of the ruins on the FoB side of the staircase, between the ruins and the cliff. Spotted the skelly with the shield while I was checking around the ruins, killed him, and looted the stone. Total time maybe 30 minutes. Dark blue to 35 Nec so obviously no contest.
The Heart of Torsis drops of the Greater Charbones in EJ, not sure of loc but if you zone in from FOB and head left towards the area around the top of the great staircase. There are 2 types of greater charbone at the top, a plain looking one (never got a drop of them) and one that carrys a shield and sword. killed this one and he dropped the gem, killed 2 more of same type and dropped gem both time. Hope this helps, now all i have to do if find that Goblin in FM lol
I recently, for no reason, casted identify on this and it came up... Necro of the 24th Circle. I wish I had casted identify on the other ones to see what they were. But back to my point, in the Forbidden Tome the first couple of lines are... "The Blasphemer Dag of the Forbidden Circle" Maybe this is a connection to the eight skullcap maybe it isn't. I just want to find it out so I can sleep peacefully at night again :)
Eventually they will probably add at least 1 more quest in this series and finish with a pretty sweet reward. Look at all of the other Iksar quests which were upgraded in the past few months: the shaman cudgel of the ancients, the sk greenmist, and the monk shackle of tynnonium. That just leaves the necros and the warriors as those who still need an upgrade.
Don't worry, our day will come. But it probably won't happen until PoP comes out... it looks like these days they're spending most of their time working on the newbie armor quests. They still need to finish those initiate/disciple/regent symbol of x diety quests too, but that's a whole other issue...
These skullcap quests are so f'in retarded i think i'm gonna crap my pants. They invlove WAY too much work for a very crappy reward. (crappy considering the work involved) 7 quests for an average cap? wtf? who does these quests?
i work on these quests while doing other things, meaning that, if i happen to be in a group when something for these quests drops, then i'm working on it.
i personaly think this helm is a good ending to it the helms have not ben stunning and excelent for there lvls but they have been decent if you want exclent helms then do other quests there are alot of them out there and there are drops and such but to this quest line in itself it is a fitting end cap there might be something like the belt and headbands of the monk that needs both compleated to get something higher and better
I can't believe this piece of junk is the end of the Iksar necro quest line. God I hope that hermit quest gets fixed and we can see if we have anything worthwhile ala Greenmist or the Monk quest rewards.... /sigh (toss cap into bank storage heap)
