Well, I have been hunting Grurn every chance I can get. I have formed a couple small groups to turn the cave to the Grimling's favor, and have camped him solo several times.

I've noticed that he drops the earring randomly about 1 in 4 times. I've noticed that Grurn's pop runs very hot and cold. The fist time I got one earring in a short time. The next time my group got four earrings in about 3 hours. Since then I haven't seen an earring.

I was thinking that Grurn had a spawn-time window where he popped more frequently. It seemed to me the first two times I camped the caves, he popped about every 2-3 kills of his placeholder (the Tribal Leader).

Recently, however ....well ok NOW actually (I am on other PC camping him as I write this - talk about boring!). Anyway, I originally thought he had a window and I believed it was between 11pm and 1am EST. On two separate occasions he popped about 1 in 3 during this window. At other timnes he popped about 1 in 15 times. It was a dramatic difference and it FELT like more than just stupid randomness.

This may be true, but I can confirm that this window I speculate about is not on a 24 hour cycle. I camped him yesterday for two hours and now I am on my fourth hour tonight.

His placeholder is replaced every 11-12 minutes. Grurn seems to pop randomly. Overall I would estimate his spawn chance at about 1 in 10 and the earring drop at about 1 in 4.

His rate and the earring rate may have been ratcheteed down, I am not sure. It sure feels like he's spawning less and dropping the earring less.

Ghowlik (the named sonic wolf), who spawns in his exact spot is reportedly dropping his rare loot much more rarely so maybe the frequency of these have all been nerfed.

When the Grimlings own the zone, this is the WAY to go. I looted 3 in just a couple hours, using alts to store them. Gave one to my wife, one to a friend, and sold the other within a couple hours for 4K in the bazaar (On Terris Thule).

For 4000 a pop, I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in the Sonic Wolf cave, whenever Mr No Eyes is there. The bracelet appears to go for about 1K. He's just cash on the hoof. The trick is to make sure to have mule's or alts nearby to feed the items to.

Well i wish i could do the war alone because the Grims wood always own the wolf camp.Gurn Noeyes pops in the same place as Ghowlik and can also be warp pulled through the top of the mountain.Camped it about 2 hrs and got the earring sold it at the Bazaar for a quick 1k and ran back but the camp was taken and the war was reset the next day /sigh.So if your on Sullon Zek please help the Grimlings beat the wolves and nobody else.Or does anyone know a way a 45 enchanter can take 5 wolves out quick because 2 of them summon lol. Peace

Was dropped by Grurn No Eyes in the sonic wolf caves after Grimlings have taken over. We were camped there for about 4 hours tonight... Grurn spawns in the back of the cave near P450 N3000, his PH is a Grimling Tribal Leader and is on about a 15 min spawn. Grurn was popping about 1 in 4 or 5 for us. All the grimlings seem to have a fairly high MR... resisting root more often than not. Also be aware that most of them have SOW that outruns my 49 level SOW.

Grurn dropped Owlbear Feathered Spear, Shell Trimmed Bracer, Fang Shaped Stone Earring, Fang Shaped Stone Earring... in that order.

49 Shaman, 49 Druid and 40 Warrior had no problem keeping the camp (I recommend you go in invisible). I (49 shaman) held the camp on my own with no problem until I let my pet get away from me, at which point I had the whole grimling tribe on me ***** They are green, but they are a nasty green... zoned into grimling forest with less than 100 hit points left.

If you stay next to the big rock just behind the PH you will have no problems with adds, but nearby mystics and manacasters will continually heal the PH or Grurn himself... and it can be a pain. And whatever you do... don't chase them when they run unless you are ready for numerous mobs to jump on yer backside.

Safe paths n great fortunes!

(Edited spelling of mob names also spawn rate is just under 12 mins... have had Grurn spawn 3x in a row and have had PH spawn 10x without ever seeing Grurn)

Not to mention the saves. Can't laugh at an earring that gives wis/int, mana, AND saves.

True...wish it had Fire saves though, as disease and poison are easy to get, but hell, given the rest of the stats, I will take some extra disease and poison...magic is also easy to get, but that too can save yer butt. ;)
