It's used for the Thex Mallet quest, https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=27. Decent range slot +5 sv magic. Also part of a larger quest with a reward of a SK 1-charge complete healing Reaver.

I picked up a "Mallet Head" in Befallen which quite possibly goes with this hilt piece. Very interesting.

FWIW the icon is the same as a silver bar,
