ok this whole entire mob is just for novelty items like the earing of sad explotation he originaly droped and this sword seems like jokes and novelty to me

Ok here's a thought it is generally well known that the sleeper was put into his Tombe bye Count Mistmoore, people have always wondered if there was a quest that HE gave that will allow you to fashion or some gain a weopen the would kill the sleeper. Of course nobody knows since he's Difficult to speak since he only spawn like twice a year and is thought to be possibly played bye a GM, or is GM spawned. Anyway could be that Mistmoore gives you a quest to retriave for him the Sword of Trueth and then once you have it and you give to him he gives you back a sword that is wieldable and capable of killing The Sleeper, or was capable anyway since he's moved to some unknown location now it would be difficult to find out But wow what a trip that would be once he was found agian if this actually worked.
I'm sorry, and please do correct me if I am wrong here.. ..but where in the games lore, EVER, has it stated that the vampire Mistmoore had anything to do with locking away Kerafyrm.. the Sleeper.. Ancient Prismatic Dragon, yadda yadda..
As far as I know.. the lore involing the Sleeper all revolves around the dragons of Velious, and doesn't even really branch out into anyone elses involvement. Except the thoughts that Vox and Naggy are the parents.. ..but that's another subject.

First of all, what about smithing combinations? Has anyone tried to smith with this? Temper of some sort or a new metal sheet or SOMETHING. Try breaking it down to separate parts, maybe, and you get something special.
Second, What about giving it to an opposing god? Some would probably like to get their hands on this.
Finally, what about the whole key thing? There's supposed to be a zone by the LOIO that can't be opened. Who knows? Maybe this IS a key?
Oh, and PS, try giving this to a lot of npc's. Now that they give stuff back to you that aren't quest items, you could always just hand it to everyone you have ally faction with and see if they enchant it or react in any way.
Cool if they made a warrior/wizard hybrid and this was that/human only. Then they'd REALLY be stealing from SoT...

You probably know that Everquest sometimes copies things. In the german game Gothic, there is a demon called the Sleeper. Near the end of the game, you have to tey to kill the sleeper, but it is impossible to kill him directly. Sounds like Kerafyrm to me, hits for 6100, has invincible health regen, well, I am thinking there might be another way to do that. The two most mysterious things in the game, in my opinion are the Sword of Truth and the Sleeper.
And the fact that snakes can kick, and the fact that it is either day or night time on every non moon zone in the game, and maybe the fact that all that crap you melt into the forge returns a tiny druid earring and a piece of paper with a spell written on it (Earring of Solstice Quest). :p

The reason Lord Seru has this amazing weapon that is none/none is not for fancy show or anything of the like.
The game engine only allows NPCs to do a certain amount of damage in melee combat.
This sword allows Seru to break that cap, by having the humanoid bane damage, the insane dmg/dly, the 1hs skill modifier, the cold damage.
It might be part of a quest, since lore has it that the Combine Empire was working on a Sword of Truth, which would be capable of killing the Sleeper, and they did revamp ST after Luclin came out, but I'm pretty sure it's just to break the melee cap, and they threw in the background lore to the weapon as well.

so if you have MT in a non-humanoid illusion, like Boon or Wolf or something... would he then do less melee damage to the main tank?

In that No race or class can use this -- no one can equip it. Is it just an uber pet weapon? Or could it be like a food/drink buff item? (Make it the first weapon in your bags and you benefit by the bonuses?) Anyone ever had one and figured out it's use or purpose?
It's a weapon that noone can yet use, but heard of pets tearing up with it equipped. Beyond that, No class/race can gain any benefits as of yet. Most still speculate that a future quest will come out of it, although...by now some PoP weapons are coming close to it's power, just not any one handers like this. Still hoping that maybe someday they'll put a no drop tag on it and at least one class/race combo that can use it...even if it is a Pally only. Most likely will just remain a teaser from Verant though.

if im not mistaken, pets will eat this.

We killed Seru tonite, and it is most certainly NO DROP now. More of a trophy than anything else. Stats haven't changed and it's still none/none.
suprised noone has mentioned this already, but it indentifies as "black blade of seru" just fyi.

there are 4 items in EQ that are Race: NONE / Class: NONE. the Sword of Truth is one of them. what are the other 3???

There is an another item that cannot be equipped, Staff of the Fire God. That is all I know.
One is the robes that drop in the second floor of Plane of Hate off the dark elves... forget the name off-hand.

Interesting fact I just noticed. They changed the PoH robes! They're wearable now. All races that can have a visible robe graphic can wear them.
Just kinda interesting that after however many years they'd finally change it now.
Ah well, time for a new PoHate soon anyway. About time my god's house got some respect. Of all the Planes, his was by far the biggest joke :P
Wonder if they'll tie it in with PoP or leave it seperate like it is now. Probably a few new quests and such, as well. Curious to see what will happen to the epic drops up there.
