I just like the look.. lmao. right now my cleric is equipping a rygorr oracle shield and she is mistaken as a SK?? even while in Full EM, as a eduirite.
Hmmm, do you complain about why you were born as a boy or girl? Do you complain about why your mom is ugly? Do you complain about such useless ****? Rhis is a game *******. Besides, I have yet to see a lvl 50+ ranger using a shield. Why would you want that moron?

In theory, Warriors and Rangers are both supposed to either duel weild, or use a Two handed weapon. Warriors seem to be able to use alot of shields, but you never see them doing it. I think that the Question post was very valad, so ***** you Anon
The large races with inate slam abilty may not use shield, but others must when stunning is needed. If only one tank, then that tank does everthing and anything to keep the taunt. If mutiple tanks, esp with casting mobs, one keeps taunt, others bash. After level 55 all war/race combo can stun with kicks and the point becomes moot.
If you think a tank will not use a shield, you have not played one or seen a Vox raid. ALL in the fight use Bash/slam/stun spells to prevent her from CH.
Just something to think about before excluding a tank from the roll on this or other shields.
BTW, the AC on this shield is the same as treeweave (one of the best iksar BPs) and the resists are great when dealing with AoE mobs.
A better tactic than to decrease dmg output from tanks is to get several enchanters and make them all cast manaseive on Vox. This will take away all her mana and therefore she cant CH herself while you are dealing more dmg as more warriors are equiping weapons instead of shields :) Manaseiveing is one of the main tasks of an enc for instance in Temple of Veeshan and it works really well on Vox too, so try it out

Posted:Jul 14 2001 at 3:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sigh.... No self respecting druid without 200wis(while wearing this shield) would buy it. I would take 10wis 10 mana any day over this. The resists are nice but that extra 110 mana is going to save yer *** when you need to evac. As for ac, fairly useless on later levels because no matter how much AC you, more then 1 minute meleeing any blue+ con mob and you will be dead. If the mob aggros on you, stand thre and let the tanks taunt it off which takes 10 seconds, if you get hit while kitings, who cares just run farther away and keep kiting. The AC doesn't matter for druids, only wis/mana/resists in that order. So if you don't have 200wis don't get this shield (if you are a druid)
You look at the stats, and you figure, oh thats for melee classes. Do you even notice why some high level druids equip this shield? Its mainly for the fact that the saves help a whole much. I can honestly say I'd prefer to have high resists (and the extra AC does help) over 200 WIS anyday. And by the time you reach the 50s, you'll have other items to boost your stats to 200 anyways. So dont say this item sucks because it doesnt. And it should be resists/WIS/mana in my opinion, if ur above 50 for a druid. So I feel sorry for you if you think you can survive raids, with your 200 WIS before resists. What good is 200 WIS and extra mana when you just died from a spell that was casted on you just before you can finish casting your evac spell.
This is one of the best shields for high lvl druids. Once you get around 200 wisdom this shield is a definite must have. There are only a few shields better. This shield is also very important for raids or when fighting casters. You will realize just how important your resists are when you have a bunch of high lvls casting on you.
Why don't you come back here and say that again after you've reached 52/53 and start raiding. Or when you try to get into a better guild, but they have a minimum requirement of entry of 100s in all resists, because the mobs they fight really do require it. =)
What's the minimum level to enter Chardok well grouped? Gonna seem stupid, but I'd like to try going there at level 35-40.. Would it be possible, anyone?
Timog Nightslayer 34 Barbarian Shaman <Arctic Blade> Tholuxe Paells
i am 48 clr in there, difficult place even thouygh most mobs are blue and the rest of my ghroup is 5 or more lvls higher than me --------addition: dinged 49 last night before we did prince, and ever though the deeper we went there were still blue mobs, they are still bastards. this place is like undercon on crack. plus fast spawns whoop yo ***
With the new velious shields I actually saw 2 of these for sale in EC on MT at the same time. Still a great shield but a good chunk of the price is for the look, and now that is losing some snob appeal as I have seen a few 10- players with this. I was ready to buy one for my shaman but got a clay guardian shield for 1200pp thats 25ac 50hps, I can buy a lot of resist gear with the 15K I saved.

Whilst there is some great wis stuff that can go in the offhand, the paw of opolla can go in the primary hand too, and since you're not going to be using a weapon unless it's the epic, the paw and this shield make a great combination. For any druid who was smart enough to put all his stat points into wis when creating the character, it's easily possible to have a 200 wis whilst holding this shield. Even if your wis isn't 200, any high level druid knows it's more important to survive a few rounds of attacks after being summoned or AoE nuked, cos all the mana in the world isn't gonna do you any good if you're dead.
I Disagee Druids do NOT have gear it is just hard to find because there are so many druids around. And to the person asking why a High lvl druid would want this shiels simple the resistance bonuses.

I Think That The Druid Who Do At That Level Are Too Lazy To Do Quests Cause They L:eveled Up So Fast Cause They Were TWINKED, Or Cause Their Wisdom Was Already Maxed By All The Other Items, Even Though The 2ndary melee Slot On Druids Can Hold Some Really Good Wisdom Stuff, IE Paw Of Opolla, ToV, etc

Uhh, what quests are you referring to? Druid-usable items like this with high AC _and_ great resists are hard to find. Wisdom items are much easier to come by. I use a crystalline eye in my off hand just for the sv magic/fire/cold+10, even though my wis has dropped down to 186. I would LOVE to have 25 AC added to that--that's more AC than any other item I own has.
Wearing resist gear fulltime has saved my life many times, I'm more than willing to give up wis for it.
It can drop off any sarnak. What's so wonderful is that nice gold beacon can be seen a mile away (ok you can't really find a place in Char that you can see a mile but hey...hehe). We have had the best luck finding them by parking outside of Korocust's lair to pull for exp. There's a fairly large number of spawn to pull from in the area. It's nice and exciting to see that glint of gold from across the bridge. ;)
Pretty sure this was dropped by an auspex... yes it makes sense to be dropped by a warrior ... Of course I have herd of multi different things dropping off different mobs in chard!!!
