I was camping Dyllin Starshine, when 2 hours into my 7 hour camp, Valaury (a lvl 51 cleric) came and offered me and my friend 500pp each for the camp site. He jumped at the offer, being a fighter, but she said we both had to agree. Keep in mind that I did not know her level at the time. So I said that I would think about it. Then she "tells" me that she will give me a Springwood Club plus the 500 pp, if I let her have the camp. I agreed, got my club and money, then came back when she told me she had killed him. I also got my Testament of Venear this night, April 2nd, 2001.
After losing my account and having to start over (no big loss, my highest level character was 12) I had a level five monk. I came into some money by selling a Green Silken Drape that my guild had given me (got about 200pp)and was watching the auctions in NFP. To make a long story short, a guy sent me a direct tell for no apparent reason asking me if I wanted to buy one of these. I asked how much, and he said to just make an offer. I offered 125pp and he took it. He didn't even mention the WIS and INT buffs. I figured I got the good end of the deal on this one.
For a Wisdom caster, especially druids, who are constantly kiting, solo, this weapon is quite nice. The damage/delay ratio is better than listed here. It's now 9/22, rather than 9/25. For a druid or cleric 40 or under, this is damn near a dream weapon(because some of us can't twink their characters, and either have to camp or buy it). Even if you're pinging for ones on a nearly-dead mob you've been kiting, who doesn't want to go down, you'll still find that it won't take long to kill it at all. The strength buff is nice, and I know that I can hit for around 20 or 21 on full contact, with Strength of Stone and Greater Wolf Form, and my 1hb skill still isn't above 100(though it certainly will be within a day of finally nabbing it, as it hits so quickly that skill gains are inevitable). I payed 2k for mine, which I think was perfectly fair for this item, especially since I just picked up 34, and can make up the money by porting to anywhere in the world in only an hour or two of steady business. Not to mention, the fact that I couldn't have camped the mobs in KC makes that buy nice, considering what I could have ended up with. Another good choice, if you like the buffs and speed stats on the Springwood Club but can't afford or camp it, is the Velium Stone Etched Mace - 7/22, with some +3 buffs, including a wisdom buff. Many in Great Divide, in Velious, will just send out a zone shout with the location of Velium Stone Etched Maces which are sitting on Yaka's corpse, because he drops them so frequently that they can't loot them, as they're lore. Either way, both items are excellent, and I would recommend them to any caster using 1hb, who still finds themselves meleeing on a regular basis. Good luck, and blessed be....
