Got myself Grim Pauldruns from Trakanon's Teeth off a relatively easy named mob (Dreadlord Fanrik, 50th level SK). They are AC 13 str +10, and since I'm a "small" race warrior the strength is huge over Dex and Agi. The limited charges is also a downer. No, this item just isn't worth the trouble (unless you are up there anyways and the components fall in your lap ;P).

Could someone explain why it was rated as "not-so-good". Far too low to get it myself but it seems like a real nice item.
Because aside from the effect, it isn't real good. There are many shoulder items with higher AC, which is the most important thing to a Tank. It has no STR or STA, the second 2 most important things for Warriors. It has no Raw HPs.
DEX and AGI are nice, but don't really do much to help Tanking. Sure, DEX helps procs, but STR directly boosts ATK and your overall damage output. Procs should never play into the equation. And you need ALOT of AGI to actually make any difference.
So, in short, for the trouble it takes to get, this item blows.

I've actually reconsidered my stance on this item. It is actually quite a good shoulder item for a Warrior. the 10 AGI translates to somewhere aroung 7AC. That would make this a 19 AC shoulder item. Plus 10 AGI will probably halp you not get hit as much and the DEX will help your damage output some. Not bad at all, all considered. With Vellious and now Luclin, the old gear is getting dated now, though. Theres bound to be shoulder items that are easier to get and better than these in Luclin. I think even the Thurg armor may be better and isn't too rough to get.

wow for a second there i didnt see the charges and thought it was a right-click effect. holy damn. they are still damn nice with the 12ac, 10 dex and agi (for proc'ing weapons and dodging skills). and my iksar warrior can wear them! now to get him to 46+ lvl :P

I won't guarantee you that Iksars can wear it. Remember, most Planar items were discovered before Iksars were introduced into the game.
