My druid, with KEI, can swap in some resist items, and still have 255 wis. In addition, this puts EVERY ONE of his unbuffed resists above 100. PLUS I can buff them up another 40 points with buffs. If I'm quadding blue con, non casters, I think I'd rather have 130+ resists, and another 2 mana per tick, than 140+ resists, without the mana.

BTW, my gear isn't particularly "uber". I have Elysian armor (nice, easy to get), and a few other items, selected for the purpose of getting resists up (eg. scimitar of the emerald dawn). The rest comes from diamond/blue diamond resist gear, purchased pretty cheap in the bazaar.

Current FT cap
# Dec 21 2002 at 4:08 PM Rating: Decent
At the time of this posting, the FT cap is 25.

And on a side note, all "Flowing Thought" items do indeed stack with one another. =)

Hope this helps somebody out there. =)

Good luck, and good day!

According to posts I've seen and tests that have been done, the FT cap is still 15. Whether or not it actually was 25 at some point, I don't know. But I doubt it.
RE: Current FT cap

I hear 15 for a long time, was this changed? Don't think I'll even be reaching 15 for a long time so don't really care either way, just curious.
RE: Current FT cap
# Apr 07 2003 at 7:54 PM Rating: Default
with the release of PoP the cap is still 15 up to lvl 60, then goes up 2 every level past 60, at lvl 65 the cap is 25
Upgraded Stats
# May 11 2002 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
This item has recently been upgraded to flowing thought 2.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 20 2002 at 6:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok so its what we would call EQ's equivalent of a Cursed item. but for straight melee combat, yeah this would be sweet.
RE: cursed
# Jun 18 2002 at 12:42 PM Rating: Decent
I'm confused as to how this would be useful in melee combat as it has no benefits to melees stats but it does have mana regen... To a beastlord/sk/ranger possibly... but why in melee combat??? why not in spell casting???

I think it would be best for a caster involved in a battle that doesn't require resist gear.
RE: cursed
# Jun 29 2002 at 3:58 PM Rating: Decent
He means fighting melee mobs... the ones that don't cast.
RE: cursed
# Jun 20 2002 at 6:38 AM Rating: Decent
I can't imagine a melee taking off their arm armor for this. It's a nice item for exping, but for many raids I take these off due to the hit that it does to my resistances.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 18 2002 at 10:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Considering that flowing though 1 items don't stack with other flowing though 1 effects (though they do stack with flowing though 2 and above, as well as other mana regen effects) I wouldn't even consider this a good item for down time! I know getting a flowing though item of any kind is difficult, but no AC, no stats, negative resists...if you get jumped while wearing this you certainly deserve what you get. Maybe if you could obtain this item in your 30's it would be good but by the time you can get this you might as well work on the last few steps of your coldain prayer shawl instead. (which is definatly one of the best fft 1 items for the level you can obtain one)(and yes, it IS hard to get one, so?).
RE: Not worth inventory space
# Mar 18 2002 at 11:02 PM Rating: Excellent
You are incorrect.

All FT items stack with each other, up to a maximum of FT 15.

This has been tested and reported on numerous boards.
RE: Not worth inventory space
# Mar 19 2002 at 10:38 AM Rating: Default
Ok, I'd really like a clarification here, because it sounds like these two could be saying the same thing.

I've heard many times that FT1 does not stack with FT1, but does stack with FT2, etc, up to a max of FT15. So, you could have FT1+2+3+4+5 and get FT15 that way, but you could not have FT5+5+5, as that would only result in FT5.

Someone else mentioned a patch message. Which case did verant confirm, that FT items can stack or that FT items of different values can stack?

Only having one FT1 item on one char, I cannot test this.

Thanks!

You can have 15 ft1 items and they'd stack. FT works by points, up to the max of 15. I'm up to 11 now.

# Jul 29 2002 at 4:37 PM Rating: Decent
There is a large debate as to weather the cap of ft 15 remains. Many people have reported it is gone. I'm approaching the magic number now, and Will post what I find as a responce to as many of these threads as I can find =)

At the FF this weekend, I'll ask one of the developers.

Just revisiting this as a follow up. At the Boston FF, the Dev team said FT is still capped at 15.

This would be a great item for downtime when no danger is threating or even when fighting warrior type only mobs.Resists are only worth while if casters are about.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 18 2002 at 8:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is the suckiest item i ever seen in my life time of eq why would u have that kind of item on pvp if u had that u would be so screwd becaus u have to have resistance not negative resistance so my rating out of a 100 is a -100 cause this item truly sucks
RE: sucky
# Mar 19 2002 at 2:11 PM Rating: Decent
lilbigz,

This is a bit off topic, but obviously you need the help. If you check the yellow pages (either web based or old fashioned paper book), then you should be able to find a place that will repair the broken period key on your keyboard. You could also pay about $20 or less for an entire replacement keyboard. In either case, I hope you get the help you so obviously need.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 19 2002 at 12:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Because no one cares about PvP :P
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 19 2002 at 6:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Cant be helped if all you nancy boys are afraid of a little confrontation...But no you would rather wait in line for a mob rather than go in and kick butt for it yourselves and throw all the other bums out...
RE: sucky
# May 01 2002 at 11:06 PM Rating: Default
wow Ccra, you are so hard & cool because you PLAY a mmorpg on a PVP server :P

Nancy boys? yeah whatever....
RE: sucky
# Mar 19 2002 at 4:03 PM Rating: Default
No, actually us "nancy boys" are playing the game as intended. PVP was never a designed in part of the game, it was something thrown in for people who whined for it.

And in the end, it was badly designed and never worth it.

So deal
Raids
# Mar 18 2002 at 6:29 PM Rating: Good
Hehe looks like a great item to wear out on raids. You could then tell people "HAHA i laugh at danger, I spit 'Patooey' in in the face of death"
Not that bad...
# Mar 18 2002 at 5:14 PM Rating: Decent
This would be nice for between pulls and such just to get mana back up.
RE: Not that bad...
# Mar 18 2002 at 10:38 PM Rating: Default
only arm slot with FT, so what you do is tell everyone that it sucks and it should be defaulted to you
RE: Not that bad...
# Mar 18 2002 at 9:27 PM Rating: Decent
/agree

Nice item. Great especially for down time.

Add this to the boots, shawl, crown, etc..

More Mana regen then should be humanly possible. Cracks me up that a 52 Wiz would knock this. Simply burn your mana kiting, drop some of your gear and toss your FT items on. Conceivably, you could knock down your med / leveling time significantly over a period of 8 levels soloing.
RE: Not that bad...
# Mar 19 2002 at 3:52 PM Rating: Decent
yes i would agree it is worth dying once for but no more cause with the super regen you could level faster and also if it has all those resistences put down then like many have said use during down time or if your a ceric or druid you normaly med untill someone needs a heal or buff so if your a druid instead of sitting there until u get the mana to heal/buff you get that mana faster and get to have the rush of using your birth right(kick **** nukes)
