As a 52 monk I would pass this item to a hybrid class. The 10% to mend is totally useless after Mend (100). Anyone doing the Ring of Fire should have a skill of at least that.
For those who don't understand mend: Six real life minutes after using mend you can reuse mend any time after that. Before a skill of 100 one of three things will happen: 1) instant gain 25% hitpoints 2) nothing 3) instant loss 25% hitpoints (can kill you)
Once mend is above 100 only one thing happens: 1) instant gain 25% hitpoints, failure is impossible! (There is a way to fail but it's an ongoing bug people can learn to avoid.)
Higher skill does NOT add more hitpoints or decrease the repop time on mend. I think mend (100) is reachable at level 19.

it just doesnt make sense to me. does it to anyone else? i mean why would your mend skill be able to go over 100 if it does no good? i think there is something out there that a lot of us are missing. maybe its not exactly 1% per skill lvl maybe its 0.7 or .6 not exactly 1. because why would they even bother making it possible to go past 100 if it didnt help the skill at all? it would just take up space in the game. there has to be something more. an explination why.
With the introduction of Luclin monks were given an opportunity to get an AA ability to preform a "critical mend" which when works does twice the healing amount of a regular mend. Just a thought... the added 10% mod and/or your mend skill being above 100 may make chances of critical mends landing increase, but this is only my hypothesis as I don't have the AA or the mod item in question. If anyone has details please post I'm quite interested =)
Did anyone notice that this is a Lore NoDrop item? Why would you even try and roll for the silly thing? It's the result of a quest, and I definitely agree that it's not a shabby item. But I definitely prefer my gantru charm, as it has more functionality than this skull charm (can be worn on either neck or the range slot) and has some added resists. (7ac 5str 5dex 5cha 5wis 2SVfire/cold/disease/poison/magic)
But, as a reward for a quest, it's definitely worth doing. =) I'd put my gantru on my neck and throw this in my range slot anytime.
The Ring of Fire, is an event that is activated inside of Acrylia Caverns, when your raiding force is in a...surprise surprise...ring of fire. Mobs begin to spawn randomly now (i think they made it random now at least), and after every "wave", there is a boss mob. Boss's drop schtuff. Im sure one of the bosses drop this item. Hence, why you must either send it to a loot comittee, or roll on it.
As for the item, 99.9% of em will go to a monk heh.
This good for and class and it is all/all. But by the level to atain it you coul aquire something much better. A 10% mend would'nt help much to a monk lvl 50+ because of skill caps and all coming into play. /shrug another not to useful item
Would be good for any class, but personaly I'd perfer to see it go to a necro or shammy (and I don't play either). Extra Hp and stamina = mana for them, and not having to give up Int/Wis is a big plus. I wouldn't argue it going to a melee either, just nice stats for any class. Heck, even rogues would love this item.
Don't beastmasters get mend as well? Maybe their skill caps at 99 or something...well, probably not. heh. If only only high mind skill mattered...maybe it does get taken into account for critical mends?
Beastlords do not get mend. Only monks have this ability, therefore, it should go to a monk before anyone else. I don't play a monk so it's not like I'm biased here.
I'm a lvl 60 monk I wouldn't bother rolling for this if anyone else wanted it. Anything past 101 in mend is useless. Now if they were to make how much you healed for determined by your mend skill this would be anice item but as it stands it isn't.
Hm, seems monks and everyone are forgetting that there is a critical mend ability buyable with AA points. Perchance this would help you achieving those crits?
As a cleric I am rolling on this puppy or complaining if it isnt open lotto'd. Monk's get enough stuff defaulted to them. For a cleric there are few items with more wis than this for the range slot... I am sure there are other classes that would gladly snap one of these up as well. Bah @ Monk Item.
This is a nice item but this is not monk only. The skillmod is useless. After 100, mend skill ups mean NOTHING. If a monk of the skill to participate in the ring of fire dosn't have at least 100 mend allready, they don't deserve this item anyways. Personally, I'd LOVE this item and would be rather upset if it went to a monk because of a meaningless stat like the 10% to mend. Seriously.
Hello? Mend +10% is the same thing as mend +0%. Mend past 100 is useless. So, no, melees probably won't be getting a +10% evoc item but yes melees will be getting a +0% evoc. Learn about the abilities, man. + to mend is meaningless. It does nothing.
