ok, 3 things:

1) Boss mob corpses don't poof in 20 seconds anymore, its a full 7 minutes
2) This sword looks way cool! It's not the uberest sword, but its a good low delay wep for building skills for a lowbie and, as I said, very cool looking.
3) The Hollowshade War is very much fun. If you can manage it with a group that can get exp from it, that's perfect. FYI, my 60 chanter can solo the whole war, including Boss Mobs, for nice twink no drop items (I'm on Rallos Zek)

That's it, bye!

Who and how

This sword drops from the grimling prince, Garzemort. Be careful, his corpse poofs very quickly after he dies. I learned this the hard way. He can be found in the Vah Shir outpost after the grimlings control the three main camps in Hollowshade. the prince stays rooted to one spot, but his bodyguards roam and repop quickly.

Ending the war is simple, but a little tedious. Wait for a species to go on "offense" against another species, assist them in killing the unique camp guardians, once a species takes another camp, they begin spawning all over that camp, then simply wait for the same species to attempt a raid on the last remaining camp, assist them, then run to the outpost to find their prince.

This quest can be done fairly easily by a 40+ healer/melee combo, or by a solo 50-ish kiter, nothing exceedingly dangerous here, other than the bodyguards, which can be avoided if you are careful.

A note about the defenders, they summon, so be sure you have enough firepower to destroy them without the help of the attackers (who will con indifferent to you). Another thing about them, I am still not certain of this, but it seemed like whenever the sonic wolves killed an attacking grimling, the grimling then became a fresh new sonic defender. This is purely anecdotal, but I think that is what happened, although it was hard to tell with the constant disorientation from the summoning, Again, I learned this the hard way. Best to kill the defenders before the attacking side arrives, then they can simply march in uncontested and claim the camp. It takes a while for the "correct" side to attack sometimes, just be patient, read the messages, and enjoy your new items.

Good luck, hope that helps.

If I were fighting this wolf type thing, I don't think I would really want it swinging this sword at me when it was blind. And since when can Wolfs use swords 8)

OK let's think about this for 1 second shall we?

First off its called "The GREAT BANESWORD of the Blind Wolf". Emphasis on BANESWORD meaning doing great damage.

Second emphasis should be on "the Blind Wolf". Now this means Sonic Wolves. If a wolf is going to be "Sonic" then of course it is going to be blind. Hence the term "blind as a bat" for Sonic Bats.

So with those 2 factors taken into consideration, don't ya feel dumb for thinking a wolf carried this since the title alone means "does great damage to sonic wolves".

Sometimes ya just have to read before making such posts.

I rest my flame :)

OK, first off the "8)" at the end of his post was meant to convey the humor in which he made it. I notice you added an emoticon to yours but I get the impression you are smiling because you are pleased with yourself.

Second, if you are going to be pedantic about it, Sonic does in no way suggest something is blind, it certainly does not mean blind, all it does is suggest something makes a noise. Also, to dispel a myth, bats are NOT blind. Bats have eyes and they can see fine, they use sonar to navigate at night because their eyesight is far less effective then.

Strydorr was trying to be funny in the same way you were trying to be clever, you both failed, imo, but he came off looking less full of himself.

I'm still waiting for them to totally give up on fantasy names and just use silly names instead, like "Great Big Whapper Thingie" or "Giant Sword of the Kickass". Oh well.. there's always Legends :P
Question?
# Mar 15 2002 at 11:48 PM Rating: Default
With a modifier of 2hs +1% would your skill increase at a faster rate?
RE: Question?
# Mar 16 2002 at 2:22 AM Rating: Decent
When you have a 2hs skill of 200, you wield this with a skill of 202... Don't know though if you can exceed the pre-50 or 60 caps with this.
