Sorry. "Dismiss" is a permanent loss. Of course, you have the option of rebuying the same or different skin, class, gender mercenary (unless the skin was special … I will let others speak to that.) The name will be different unless you paid for a special name.

This merc sucks

I came back to the game recently, during a "return to game and get one free heroic character upgrade" event. Rolled a shiny new Druid and ran through the tutorial to get re-acquainted with the game. Like riding a bicycle, it all came back. Created macros and set up spells, etc.

Used the heroic upgrade to boost my new little Druid to 85, set up new spellbook sets, put on all the new armor, and get all ready to start my new heroic journey in the new Feerrott zone. Only had the standard Human Journeyman, Tier I tank merc, but how he was level 85. Buffed him and myself and started with the merc upgrade quest.

The standard human merc was getting slaughtered against even-con mobs, and only slightly less against blues. I had to heal him every 10 seconds or so, barely enough time to cast my DoT spells. Eventually I finished the quest (mostly without the merc) and was eligible for the Tier V mercs. Noticed I had one /claim for a "mercenary contract" so I grabbed it and upgraded to a Tier V Journeyman bloodbone merc.

Zoned back into the new Feerrott zone with the shiny new skelly merc at T5, and tried my luck on a few blue snakes. The skelly merc was getting pwned. Much less hardy than the wimpy Human T1 merc. Was very disappointing.

Other than the cool look, this merc (at least as a tank) just sucks as a tank at level 85.

Ok, I have this, and to sum it all up, they are not that bad of a merc, and not exactly sure what requirements are needed to receive this merc, but, when you right-click on it(The contract you claim.), you can go to Hadya Ware in PoK, and she is near the CR(Crescent Reach) tome(entrance into PoK from the Blightfire Moor's, which is just outside the CR entrance/exit.), if you turn 45degrees to your left, and look a lil bit away from where you are, she is standing along a wall, with 2 other NPC's, and when you right-click on it(The contract, obviously.), you can choose any one of the MELEE DPS(Warrior), HEALER(Cleric), TANK(Pally), or DPS CASTER(Wizard), all of which are the Blood Bone mercs, and yes, you can upgrade them to J1-J5, through the initial tasks, except the J1, that is given to the "gold" or now known as "All Access" accounts immediately, just as the T1-T5(Apprentice) mercs, and from my experience in playing the game, you should always go with the highest Tier your character can access, whether it be the T2 for F2P(Greenies), T5(Silver) & J1-J5(Depending on the level your character is, and what tasks/quests they have done to receive the J2-J5 mercs, and yes, you can skip straight to the J5 mercs, now.), and I would suggest the J1 merc for the All Access members, due to how they have better hit points, magic points, attack, and etc, depending on which they are, and a bit of knowledge for anyone who reads this, you can put your merc as "Passive", and after the very next charge(Payment), it will then start to Waive(Deny your payments.) your charges, until you place them off of the "Passive" ability, which you need to do manually, unless you set them to do it for you, automatically in "Settings", which I would just do it manually, since, if you are in PoK, you can set them as passive, until you leave, or when you choose to, so when you go running around, the game does not automatically set them to drain your money........

On one of my F2P accounts, I seem to have claimed it prematurely. The Mercenary Contract pops open whenever I log in to this character and offers me four choices:
Contract of the Proctector
Contract of the Mender
Contract of the Fighter
Contract of the Sorceror

These are a tank, healer, melee, and DPS, respectively. I haven't claimed it because I think I'd rather make the account a Gold account, if only for a month, so that I can get the Blood Bone mercenary and not the boring old human merc.

This item no longer works. Not sure if they broke it when they consolidated the vendors in PoK or when it happened but you no longer get a merc from right clicking it. You choose one of the 4 basic types of mercs and nothing. You don't get 1 and when you try to right click Hadya the window opens then immediately closes and it says you do not meet the requirements to hire a mercenary.

In order to hire this mercenary, your account must be a subscription account. Once you've hired the mercenary, after subscribing, the mercenary will continue to be available once subscription has run out.

To use a second merc, unless you pay for the slots, you literally have to remove your previous merc, and then give it a minute or two, then pay for a new one, of your choice(Melee DPS, tank, healer, caster DPS mercs(AKA warrior, pally, cleric, wizard...).......

Nope, it does not give a 2nd slot, you have to pay for those with cash(And not Platinum/gold/silver/copper, you use your credit card/debit card, or buy a card in the stores, to add funds.), and you buy it that way.....

Summoned a healer on a gold account and it has all the options of a journeyman so I'm assuming it gives you the journeyman rank1 if your gold

What rank will this mercenary be? In other words, if I qualify for Journeyman Tier 5, can I claim that rank?

Yes, I actually have had 1 on my cleric on the server that I play on, but since I got the RoF expansion, I opted for the Alaran merc, but, you can get a J1-J5 bloodbone merc, and, they are not that bad, but before warned, if you use a "tank" merc at higher levels, it does not hold-up, as it did at lower levels, as in, they die quite quickly, and I cannot hold up alone with my tank merc in the grounds zone in HoT, even at level 97, with my cleric and tank merc, have to have a second live person in group, with at least another tank, to be able to handle that area.....

Just confirming, this gives you the Bloodbone Skeleton mercenary.
It also gives you access to all 4 classes of mercenary - despite having to choose which contract (healer, tank, melee, caster) you can still pick any of the classes from Hadya Ware in PoK.

Okay, Is that four different bloodbones, or is bloodebone only one of the four?
Iksar and Dwarf are two different mercenaries. Tank and Healer are two different TYPES.
I am hoping the choice is between bloodbone and three others.

I had assumed that it was a clickie, like other mercenary contracts. If this is the source of the bloodbone mercs I've seen in the(confirmed below) Mines of Gloomingdeep, I presume that you would therefore buy the mercs from Elegist within that zone. If that doesn't work, you might try Hadya Ware in the Plane of Knowledge. I'll give it a whirl myself sometime to try to get a better answer.

This item is claimed. You may claim it only once per account. I'm not sure which mercenaries it grants as I haven't claimed it yet. I suspect it may be the source of the bloodbone mender mercenaries I've seen.
