Legends Server Only Item
I'd be interested in hearing from people that have moved to the legends server. Is it worth it basically?
What is good about it if you think its good? Im not bothered about hearing the items are much better more about the quests that are added and how the world is changing. Since Luclin ive spent most of my time in scarlet or tenebrious mts area because of the nice new quests and the excellent additions to tailoring. Anything new on the trade skill front or is it al but none existant on legends due to the amount of other items out there?

This is the weak loot from this zone, there is better. As for the $480/yr...yes it's worth it in the long run. Been having more fun on Stormhammer then I did on any other server.
You get your money's worth? Still waiting to get mine on a normal server.

I pay $30 more a month now so I can
Participate in Events sometimes (much easier when there are lots more)
Get to see the new or different content (MM, CT, "dynamic" quests)
Get a shot at raiding big-ticket mobs with my guild (cant do that on regular servers, thx uberguilds)
Get nearly immediate attention to my /petition when I validly need help (20 min or less response time is very nice)
Spend less time LFG (last night there was only ELEVEN people in Old Sebilis, including my group... regular night on Tarew Marr would be 60+)
Get more respect from other guilds on the server (the possibility of GM interference seems to make most guilds a little more freindly with their neighbors than they otherwise would be)
I no longer have to use that horrid EC zone for item trading. Bazaar is used on Stormhammer, and its a much better place (can tote around 100k pp and not suffer from movement reduction)
I pay $30 more a month now so I can

I'm sick and tired of ppl flaming others because they choose to play on Legends server.
There are most likely the same ppl who get pissed off at their neighbor because he/she drives a nicer car then they do (if they are even old enough to drive) as they sit on their but on the couch or gaze out the window from the puter chair.

My only concerns about people moving to Legends is if they gradually start removing customer support on the other servers and start saying we pay 10 bucks for the game, not for customer support. Seems like a long term scam to try and increase everyones bill to me, but I could just be paranoid.
Ok look VirtusEci since you wrote this you didnt do a very good job of following the comments that came out before Legends went live. THEY added more people to the Customer service staff to specifically work on legends.
As for my reasons for not playing on legends. I just cant afford it seeing as my wife wants to play now and needs her own account. $80 a month for the Legends server is pretty steep. But Id do it. My only complaint is that they havent completely fixed the problems with sol yet. I would have much rather seen them fix that first and then bring Legends on line.

Many trends are to find a way to spend less money for equal income. If a company can bring in equal ammount of cash flow and reduce cost of overhead and staff... they will be hard pressed not to.
There are many that do not have the income to rationalize spending the ammount needed for Legends.
My system has yet to work well since Luclin came out. Does that mean that I should upgrade my P3 600 with nice graphics card and 648mb ram or should the makers of everquest keep trying to reduce the load on processors by spending time and money on refining what they they designed?
I have nothing against Legends or those who play there. I would like my server to work at least as good as it used to (pre Luclin), see a few GM events now and then, keep my dieing from lag and unexplained inability to cast kept to a minimum, be able to get items that either disappear from my armor replaced or get an educated answer as to why I cannot, and I would love to be able to walk through a Luclin town with a frame rate above 2 frames per second.
Will I get these things? I don't care. I do not feel like the 'little man' (me) matters much once the scope widens past a certain border. I just play the game and enjoy it. Yes, I get annoyed at some things, expect the whole thing to end eventually, and have never gotten one bit of assistance from a guide in the 3 years I have played... but I get to see old friends regularly and treat everquest as a chat room with stuff to kill thrown in.
I hope only that the original servers (non Legends) do not get less attention... though all assurances against that are obvious and expected... it does not lessen the prediction that it will probably happen.
I will play until it does not play on my computer any longer. I have lost 2 friends who used to play to the fact that they cannot play anylonger on their systems since Luclin expansion. Perhaps, as more attention is given to Legends (which I doubt most parents can afford for their children and which, hopefully, few of those who play as I do, in their free time can afford) the old servers will plug along and not break down.... and hopefully I will loose much in freak disappearances and such...

I agree with you completely. But they did say that they added more staff specifically for the LEGENDS server. Now Im not going to say that they arent just blowing smoke our way, but that is what they said. They have added 25 Gm to the Legends server and also keeping the same amount of Gm's per server. If you do a /who all GM I still see 2 to 4 on every night, shich is fine by me.
And I am sorry you cant play yet. Im surprised that you cant I am running a Celerion 800 and can play. but I do get massive lag in areas (Mostly Luclin) and can correct it with clip plane adustmeants.
As far as them reworking the engine to all for lower end computers. YES! Since they do run a business that requires people participation (which business dosent) to alienate even a small segment of them is horribly wrong! I used to work for company that thought they were the be all and end all in entertainment, after treating customers poorly and running things as THEY saw fit they closed their doors about 2 years ago now, my friends and I miss the atmosphere, but dont miss the BS that they tried to pull. This is unfortunatley the same sort of thing, I LOVE the idea for legends its a great idea. But when you still have paying customers that cant log in. You need to place an emphesis on making your customers happy and if it means delaying LEGENDS to accomidate your members, in my opinion that is a no branier. you get the basic program fixed and then move on to bigger and better things i.e. Legends, EQ2(possibly), server wide events, and proper item distribution, blah, blah, blah.
If they choose to do that is up to them as much as playing is up to us. Id like to see them address some issues, and put customers first instead of greed, with the release of legends they but greed first. Im not harping on anyone that plays on legends, I really wish I could.

For crying out loud STOP REPLYING TO THAT &*^&*@ comment. oh, and one more thing. just because you pay 30$ more doesn't mean you get immediant petition help. If i'm correct ( and if im not, the EQ player's guides both RL and online are wrong) a GM could be kicked off for that b/c it shows favoritisim. Petitions are responded to in the order they are sent.
