whoop's diddn't finish but i still don't get how i got to get into the ssra temple if you read this please tell me how i got in ssra temple
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 13 2002 at 8:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) As most of you know this is part of the quest for shisar bane weapons.. I've gotten to the temple 3 times with alot of help from druids/clerics/and others on their way to the temple. That was such a pain i wont be going again till im in the 50 range. anyway once in the temple i had 3 full groups of lvl 50 to 60 people when they asked what i was doing there i told them neddles to say i got seriously flamed and told to leave. as expected. some of them didnt mind though and tried to help me get a green stone. i never made it to the right place. must have died atleast 8 or 9 times thats not fun. i gave up cuz the mobs always argoed on me first (low hp compared to others) so 1 to 3 hits later i was /tell someone to res me. i dont recomend trying for the corupted version below lvl 50 its not worth the time. the only possible way i see is to have a super uber guild (guild meaning everyone ) try and get you in. Or since the stone is nodrop i think if the unconfirmd reports of beng able to use any forge is true, ave someone with a stone put it in the forge and then you put in your sword andhit combine... maybe then? here to waiting till 50+

If you put a nodrop item in a world container (forge, loom, oven, etc) and close it, the item is destroyed when the container closes.

My new guild held a seb key culling event tonight and as i am only a 35th Main in a higher level guild (got in with friends) it was interesting to see.

Anyhow one of my new guildies couldnt unload this at the bazaar and was just passing out all sorts of nice stuff. It got it free. NO ONE IN THE BAZAAR WANTED IT and he was selling it dirt cheap just to make space.

I decided to look it up as i heard it had a haste effect. It doesn't, but nice to know i can upgrade it into something a 35th Pally of Brell should not have with the Corrupted Shissar Quest.

AND I do know this is a 55+ zone, but there has to be a way for a 35 Pally to slip in a raid that is going and survive just to complete this.

After all, Isnt that what adventuring is all about?

On a different note, I had Ghoulbane since level 20, and got ION at 30. Pound for Pound nothing I have seen beats the GB and ION combination on Undead. Especially throwing in the bashing also. NOTHING. If something does, let me know, because then I am out of a job as the destroyer of Undead.

However, I must admit, when fighting living creatures, there is much much better, but i will always keep a Ghoulbane in the bank, never know when I might feel like unleashing my wrath on Unrest or in Najena for a night of fun.

Be safe friends and thanks for the info on the quest to make this a nicer weapon to have.

I'm with you, it seems alot of the senior folk of EQ seem to lack that all to well needed sense of adventure. Which is supposed to be one of the main points of an RPG. All to often that seems the norm though.

But just to think, i'm sure some of the senior folk had that same adventuristic feeling and more than likey tried for it at much lower levels.. They probably even tried it in many various ways of combinations of classes and such.

Reason after something has been around for awhile, it's good to trust the instincts of the "elders" of the game. Because they pretty much know what will happen.
So it is probably best to wait it out.. but i would think they should open the level limit up a bit. You figure a 45 - 49 might slip in now and then i'm sure.

All in all though, i'm a very adventuristic person myself and will probably try once or twice just to see how mean they really are, but i will be willing and ready to probably die. So might as well get that basic set of armor and weapons out so you don't have to worry about losing alot if you die, unless you have someone that is willing to tread you through the whole thing.

As a Shadow Knight with dreams of having the corrupted version since level 20, I'll just say good luck. Don't try to run through The Grey without invis, dmf, and sow though... I lost 4 levels when I was 35 running through there. Spent quite sometime on trying to get my corpse back but eventually did, and am thankful for it. Realize that you could never kill in the temple even with a full group at your level. The only way you might be able to find one of the rare green metal drops in the temple is if some level 60+ are feeling sorry for you and take you in...but realize that you are an extreme hazard to their health. It's prolly best just to wait it out and get it in the 50's.

sorry for posting so much, I did some reaserch and found out that this sword is part of a quest.
It is used for Corrupted Shissar Knights sword.
stats are: Corrupted Shissar Knight's Sword
Magic, No Drop, Primary, 1H Slashing, WT: 2.5
Dmg: 10, Dly: 22, AC:10, Str+15, Dex+5, Sta+15, Cha+5, Wis+15, Int+15, Agi+8, HP+80, Mana+60, SV Fire+10, SV Cold+10, SV Magic+10, SV Poison+10
Classes: PAL SHD also bane damage vs shissar +11(not sure on the 11 damage but its around that amount)
you just need the Green metal that also drops in Shissar temple, anyone have any idea how much the Shissar Knight sword is worth now? it is for an awesome quest and an easy quest. also you combine the sword and green metal in any forge you dont need a skill check and I believe that the green metal is not nodrop
please correct me if I am wrong on any of this stuff, I know the stats on the weapon are correct all except the bane damage but it is somewhere around 10-13 bane damage
kinda funny

Ghoulbane 15/34 (2.26 ratio) with proc vs undead,
weight 9.5 no + stats.
Shissar knight's Sword 10/22 (2.2 ratio)no proc, weight 2.5 +5 str

Obviously ghoulbane better in undead areas, but can get the stamina down, because of weight. Shissar sword +5 str increases attack rating and weighs alot less also, so the +5 str works for both +str and less weight 7 difference than ghoulbane. Therefore 12 difference when added together. For us little elves this must be taken into account. I think the taunting aspect must be taken into account as well, as should caster disruption. I will let you all decide but either way not a bad weapon.

Well, it does really depend on what you're fighting. If you're fighting undead go Ghoulbane, it hits harder and that proc is wicked (also combined with Instrument of Nife level 30+). Sure you can use instrument of nife on the shissar sword but the additional proc is unbelievable. Otherwise get this, mad aggro. And it's 52nd, not 52st =)

IMHO I think that was a very good price. I think maybe around the 500pp is about right. May pay to look at etc.

Elite Temple Guards
# Feb 26 2002 at 3:46 AM Rating: Decent
The Elite Temple Guards are unslowable, unmezzable. So, they can present a challenge to any group without a defensive warrior. I've killed many of them, and never seen this sword, or anything but spells honestly, drop. Must be fairly rare.

No, they are slowable. I was there tonight and I slowed 2 of them with tash. Level 60 enchanter.

I am pretty sure that last time I was there every snake was slowable by our 57 shaman or 60 enchanter. I remember the elites being a bit more of a pain, but nothing a single group of upper 50s couldnt handle.

Maybe they made these guys immune to slow in the recent patch to ssraesha, as I am fairly sure they were not immune before.

They have always been immune to slow in the past, but they are now slowable. I slowed every one my last trip there over the last weekend. They still seem to be the same in all other ways, though. Maybe they downgraded them or maybe this was an accident, but it was a pleasant surprise to see they were slowable that last trip.

Not really crap...
# Feb 26 2002 at 2:03 AM Rating: Decent
Granted, it's not really something a person would use at the level needed to get it, but it is nice, considering that it's roughly equivalent to an Icepaw War Claw. Sure, it would be considered twink gear, but it'll also sell in the 150-200pp range since it is reasonably quick, has good dmg for a 1hs and most SKs and Pallies in their 20's and low 30's would probably buy one to work on 1hs.

This is 10/22 and icepaw warclaw is 9/24. This is a LOT better. A 2.2 ratio is much better than a 2.666 ratio. This is closer to a centi shortsword on ratio, but not as good stats. Would be great for those times the pally or sk has to be main tank. 22 delay would be mad taunt.
What's with you guys, lol

Not every item in High Level Zones has to be uber, this is one of those items you just pick up along the way. Now, I've never been to the Temple, so I don't know if the Elite Temple Guard is a boss or rare mob or not. But I'm assuming it's much like the swords that drop in Kael, like beserker swords. You have to be in a group of 45's to get one, or 55 to solo a beserker (high or lower depending on class). But the swords are usually obsolete in the high 20's low 30's. The sell for 150-200p though, and I always pick one up whenever I'm there.

Now this sword is much better than beserker swords and would probably sell for around 500p, if it wasn't for Centi LS's I could see this catching 1k, because it's close to a Lammy without the HP bonuses.

Now, if it were No Drop. I would agree that it would be silly. But a good weapon to pick up for extra cash, I wouldn't give a 500p sword to a newbie. I save my velium weapons for that :)

elites arent boss mobs, just rare spawn hit for ~450 and flurry but dont have alot of hp

This item is total crap for the lvl required to attain(unless it is a quest item). The only use I can see for this weapon would be as twink gear.
# Jul 17 2002 at 5:02 PM Rating: Decent
there are Totally not crap, yes there quest items, but i would Never give a newb ona these, look up corrupt shissar weapons, that whut the normal shissar weapons turn into...

Well you have to look at it like this. Fine Steel weapons drop in Seb, Chardok and many other zones that are 50+. All these Shissar swords that drop are the Fine Steel of the temple. Me personally if I loot one i'll give it to a n00b in WFP. Just an observation

This is not much of a twink item either. But what you can do is give it to a newbie, I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

My level 12 chanter can prolly beat a pally/sk of equal level thats equiped with this, heck even equip that character in fine steel and I'll still win.

This is a 1h pally/sk weapon and we all know how much better those are in comparison to something another melee type can equip. For those that don't, pally/sk tend to be more powerful because they are hybrids that can't dual wield.

If I were to twink a pally/sk I would use something with low delay (damage is capped untill higher levels) and at least a 1.8 ratio.
# Feb 25 2002 at 10:56 PM Rating: Default
Level 12 Enchanter beat a Level 12 Pally? Not if that Pally is played right, buddy. ;)

Have to say, this isn't a bad weapon... I certainly wouldn't throw it away. :D

I agree that this isn't a great sword for a lvl 55, but its an AWESOME twink sword. This is better than many levels 30's had prior to Luclin, and the centi swords. Most pallies will probably use 2hs most of the time, but this would be great against casters with a shield in secondary.

At the level you could get this to twink, you'd more likely twink with a Noc (18/26) or a Ebon (19/24) for an SK or a SoM for a Pally. I assume it's only value is if it's connected to the bane weapons quest.
