Shadows of Luclin
As a Shaman, I'd take this over the Chitin mail any day of the week. Though If I had won the Chitin mail before hand it is droppable and I would gladly make someone elses day and hand it to someone who needed it. The only fighting is gonna be when greedy people win it is all ;)
Though I'm wondering why Rogue made it, the ac is great but it lacks dex and I've found a high dex as a rogue is really really good (168 on my rogue and he procs his spear atleast once every fight, have had up to 6 procs a fight).
Great Ranger Tunic, but I wouldn't stand aside on the rolls for it.
so the only people who'll really be butting heads are shammys and rangers ;)

Posted: Feb 23 2002 at 2:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) very nice piece grats for those who recieve this beauty..whats gonna suck though, is on a previous listing was black chitin mail or something like that that had less ac and decent stats but every shaman and what not was complaining about it because bards and other specific classes were stating good armor for them..now watch they gonna roll on a black chitin then want to roll again on this one so that other classs gets hosed completey..wtg verant on making the classes fight amongst themsleves for yet another awsome piece of armor

I'm a rogue and I'd get this for 3 things, the STA, the HP, and the resists. The AC isn't all that bad either.

Ayah!! Finally, I think enough Rangers complained about getting the shaft on Moktor gear, now we finally get the BP, even appears to be better than before!! Thank you verant </hugs VI>
no -- wasn't the ever-whining rangers crying about gettin a shaft that did it. hehe this item is alot more rare than DA armor or even moktor plate.
verant straight out said rangers werent supposed to be on a plate class amor to begin with and bards were. if u notice, it was appearntly an admin error. a plate class was NOT on the original classes for a plate item and a chian class was. if u had the advantage of an item that you werent supposed to have to begin with, even for a short time, i hardly say you had the shaft when things were put in PROPER order.
besides, the best rangers i have come across in groups dint whine at all and were quite content with being able to outdamage warriors, all the while keeping aggro off themselves. is it a coincidence that good rangers dont cry? ... i dont think so.
many of the items u see in here are just late posts, not a patched in response to someoen crying. im sure there is an uber plate BP yet to be posted from the same zone tht has even more AC.
btw, this is an impressive item and grats to all who get it.

Actually rangers do get the shaft. Rangers are 3/4 Warrior. There fore, in my opinion, they should be able to tank. Rangers get crap AC gear, yeah, there's high end stuff, but dropping in NToV and Ring Of Fire isn't an every day thing for some of us. Moktor was nice when it came out, because it gave us some equipment that was high AC and wasn't uber rare as you point this out to be.
Full self buffed and I have a little over 2k hps. Thats terrible, compared to a warrior at the same age as me with 4k+ unbuffed. I'm not saying we should have the same, but I think 3k would have been nice. They say and expect us to be tanks, yet we can't because of the disadvantage of AC in most armor. A cleric tries casting Comp Heal on me, and he has to do it at 3 bubs of health rather than the usually 2 or 1 1/2 for the other tank classes.
Second, and I can honestly back this up, Rangers take more damage than they should. VI even came out awhile back ago saying Rangers were taking more damage then they should, and that they "fixed it." However, 1 or 2 pts of dmg is hardly "fixing" the problem. I can take almost any other class with same amount of AC and we take about 30+ more hps per hit than they would. I know warriors are to be a bit better, and I could see paladins and SKs as well, but when its way out of proportion, than its a bit unfair in my opinion.
BUT you are right that we are damage dealers. So I play that way. I don't tank. Heck, I hate tanking. Monks, and some bards tank better than I do and I have over 1k AC self buffed, and I don't have nearly the gear that some have. So I stick to my job, damage dealing. It would just be nice to be able to see rangers doing what most say, including VI, should be able to do.."TANK"

You need to do some research before you make another moronic post such as this one.
So in your opinion Tank order should be:
Warrior
Ranger
Paly/SK/Monk ??
Sorry to say but Rangers are not meant to be a better tank then a Paly or SK.

You do more dammage than a warrior and on top of that You have a list of very nifty spells, so if You could tank what would that make the warriors? That's right. USELESS. You can do everything 'cept tanking better than warriors and still You are complaining. It's not shafting, it's balancing.
Quit your whining and play a warrior then./

I think they do that to guarantee plate classes won't roll on it, because usually chain peeples get second grabs at things.

All three classes have one thing in common, they are all chain classes so the three of them on this quite nice item isnt as weird as one would think
