2 drops on about 8 kills so far... pretty rare =\

Fortunately he is not very hard to pull and kill. We do him with 8 for safety, avg lvl 64, make sure you have a s lower and a debuffer. Any class can pull him by just aggroing his guards and outrunning them and letting tank tag rumblecrush as the puller runs for the zone.

Fairly easy for the nice shield... has some other nice items too!

Hmm, beats the crap out of a Shield of Bane Warding or a Crystal Chitin Shield in resists and ac. Rumblecrush isn't that hard to kill, my not quite uber guild could probably pull it off. Lets see, that would pit me against 2 clerics, possibly a pally, and no doubt at least one or two druids to get this item. Hell yes I would roll on it, and in my guild, I could. Woot! Now getting Rumblecrush before some more uber guild got to him, that would be a real challenge.

I am one of those noob pallys that ask why a pally would use a shield and 1hs. I use a Bloodied Berserker Blade, it has nice stats and the ac of a decent shield on it (53/40 and 40ac). Also procs rune3 with is almost as good as your heal you get. I don't ever pick up a 1hs/1hb unless it was to max my stats on those weapons.

When and if eventually I reach the elemental planes and get a different drop I may change my mind when a shield/1hs or 1hb combo give me both the stats and dps of what I currently use.

If a pally wants bash while duel wielding there is the 2hb aa to get. Different strokes for different folks depending on your equipment you have and aa's you have. Don't call people noobs just because they don't agree with your style of play.

I like how there are folks who think there are only 2 classes or so in the game... It's a good item for any wis caster, we all need AC and saves and extra mana etc.

It all depends on who is in the group and so on... It's so funny to watch everyone make there case about which class is most deserving.

Oh yah, this should without a doubt go to a shaman, there is NO OTHER WORTHY CLASS!

Hehehehe =P

If you're so concerned about your AC and Wisdom, mr knowitall paladin, just use what my ALT has: Shield of the Dawn from NTOV drops off of Zlexax - AC 50 STR 20 WIS 20 HP 50. Granted you lose some hp's and overall mana points but you gain the pure AC and nice strength to be the main tank in an exp group. However, for raiding purposes (warriors are main tanks 95% the time or better), my crusader would rather use the Grand Shield since it has more pure hp and stamina, resists, and mana points. Meanwhile, for day to day purposes, Grand Shield is better for and proudly used by MY main character.

-I (cleric) am currently using an Orb of the Infinite Void. Feel free to compare. Killing Rumblecrush is not an issue for me.
-Getting max wisdom on generally as few slots as possible is a good thing.
-Most shamans I know don't have anywhere near max wisdom.
-If you're casting Celestial and Superior heal consistently, I really don't want to know what kind of groups or raids you're on. Only heal I see paladins cast consistently is HWoP.
-"All the other buffs you have" basically means your line that ends in BmB. The rest are just weaker versions of cleric spells, which I may be biased, but I'm betting you usually have the cleric's normally.
-Famous chain stunning is a marginal statement at best. Except where aggro is concerned or on 55+ mobs, I use stuns as much as a lot of the paladins I meet from the backfield. I do however see them use 2-handers over half the time though, which would preclude them from using a shield.
-Your spellchecker, your shift key, and your hypocrisy are not your friends. Correct your sig also - it says you're 60 when you typed out you're 56.

Sorry to burst your bubble there bro, but this would almost obviously do a caster better. My main is a paladin, and I almost NEVER use a shield. So, the 20wis would be used SOOO much better by a clr/dru/shm. And as far as thier wis being maxed out, to echo the previous statements, the fewer slots it takes to max out thier wisdom, the better. They can then focus on resists/hp more so as to be able to keep you butt alive longer. So please, stop active like a 5 year old and giving paladins a bad name :-)

Just another vote toward the casters for this. They ALSO need solid AC, and the wis is very, very nice to get along with the AC and resists. If this were 20INT instead of 20WIZ, I would default to an INT caster in a minute - my shield of Rainbow Hues does me better for pulling, my Atrementous is solid for everyday MA/stunning, and as a SK (I believe Palis are in the same position), my off-tank high damage gear is 2H.

heh, most casters have 255 wisdom (or can get it by geting KEI)... I personally have over 255, and i wear no gear for wisdom (+mana is my main goal)...

This shield i'd love for A) its + mana B) its AC...

Its got more AC than any other 2 slots put together.
RE: BAH
# Aug 15 2002 at 10:33 AM Rating: Decent
As a druid with maxed wisdom, I'd still go after this item. Why? Because if you have one slot that pumps a high amount of wisdom into your stats, that leaves you open to get items for your other slots if removing them doesn't lower your wisdom much, or even at all.

With items like the Talisman of Benevolence and this shield in your inventory that have high wisdom for one slot, you have a chance at throwing out those GEBs or Coldain skin boots which don't offer you decent stats other than wisdom itself. WHen a druid, shaman, or cleric hits max wisdom, the game isn't over. You don't toss out your shopping list, you improve yourself further by increasing your mana pool by getting items with +Mana on them, as well as items with AC and stats. Aggro is a prick, adds in a fight can hurt, and thats also why they gave casters and priests new AA abilities to gain natural AC and HP. My wisdom is maxed and now I'm looking to get this shield, the stats are nice, the AC is better, it has +75 mana on it...and best of all, I can use it on raids all the more because it has the resistances my Bane Warding Shield doesn't.

You just said and I quote:

"People that characterize @#%^ according to "THIER" needs are TARDS"

Then:

"Pallys need wis to cast Celsetial heal, Superior heal and grp heal for 660, Not to mention our Famous chain stunning abilities and abitlit to stun lvl 60+ mobs with AA."

Then your sig is:

"56 Pally"

The quotes speak for themselves. Have a nice day =)

Personally as a pally I would use this item, im at an inter-2hs peroid where im using a MDS 1hs so this would be such a nice shield to go with it. Not saying it would be any less usefull for the other classes that can use but you people that go around saying that it shouldnt be used at all by pallys are wrong.
Excellent Upgrade

I'm not sure why everyone feels the need to dictate who should get this. Guild's capable of killing Rumblecrush always have some type of loot system and order in place.

A part of that is also trusting the members to know what's best for them.

I won this item the other day and it's one of the best shields in the game for a cleric. How do I know?

Pay your premium fee here and setup your character. Allakhazam has a tool that you can use to help optimize your character and know just "what you should look for."

Great tool, very useful. I highly recommend it.

(full Skyshrine armor mind you (minus bp i have vindi bp)) I got news for you pallies and druids You wouldnt even have a shot at this if it wasnt for the shamans slow. Most 60 clerics are close or damn near maxed wis they dont NEED the wis. AC? bah clerics can wear plate i dont wanna hear it. Pallies need i say more? sit back heal and LOH the MA, buff and group heal do you REALLY get hit that often with melee? if you do you suck cause only the MA should be getting hit :P Druids, sigh oh how i dispise Spell Casting Fury, our druids seem to think they are wizards now. Ya they might need this, oh wait you have great stats on the gear that drops in UP that you can solo! great go solo and leave this to shamans and clerics. Rangers? is that a joke??? yep id like to see a ranger go to 1hs, it would be a first for someone over level 20 and id laugh at them. Beastlord same as rangers who in their right mind would give up dual wield for a shield? Name any pal or sk that wouldnt die to drop those 2hs or 1hs+shield for duel wield? thats what i thought.

> Most 60 clerics are close or damn near maxed wis they dont NEED the wis. AC? bah clerics can wear plate i dont wanna hear it.

I'm one of those 60 clerics, and I'd take this item for the other stats and the chance to consolidate my wisdom.
And the fact that I can wear plate excludes me from being allowed to have something you can use too? If you want to make that argument, then give it to a druid, you CHAIN-wearing fool.

While I doubt this is a paly item, it very well, could be, and I shudder to even tackle your comments on the paladin class. Let me just say they're outright wrong and not back it up. (Yes, I know I'm leaving myself open to flame.)

Druids in my guild rarely nuke on raids, seeing as they're the second best healers in the game. And if you have full Skyshrine minus vindi BP, you have much better gear, cross-class compared, than a druid wearing full elysium armor, which is inferior to their ToV armor, which is still partially inferior to your ToV armor since you wear chain. And idiots like you are the reason why the druids out there that would prefer to group are forced/compelled to solo sometimes.

No, not a ranger or a beastlord - they'd never want it - but any shield-using class listed is a viable option.

ok, now to comment on your follow-up post to the druid who posted telling you how correctly stupid you are...

Saying that slow makes or breaks "some" fights hardly says you know what you're talking about even within the bounds of your own class. And you clearly demonstrate that you haven't a clue what paladins or the "spoiled" druid class do.
Let's start with this: druids are not spoiled. Clerics are spoiled. Shamans come next among priest classes. Look at the loots druids can use compared to you and you'll probably snicker at them for a moment and say it serves them right. Then consider that while druids have impressive soloing capabilities, so do shamans. I'd go so far as to say better. And try getting a group as a druid - or are they always expected to solo, shunned by the rest of the world except when your sorry self needs a port? If all you see if critical blasts from druids, ask them what else they do on raids - who they heal, what buffs they cast, how they help people get to and from the raids. Truth is druids and wizards do more work for a raid than most classes because they start earlier and end later. What do you do? Buff, cann a little, then slow. (Which is still more than I do, granted.)
Paladins don't ever sit back and heal on raids. Their only two heals that really use are LoH and healing wave of prexus. LoH is usually used as a buffer initially to get a complete heal chain started, if not an emergency back-up system. Meantime that paly is fighting with the rest of the melees and occasionally repairing AE damage. If he takes aggro from LoH at the onset, which is likely, he'll probably die, and he'll suck it up because it's part of his job to keep the MT alive until you get your slow off.
I could lecture some more np, but the rest of the people reading these boards don't need to read the posts buffoons like you make, or the idiots (me) who flame them back.

They gave the shaman class a new ability called "slow" a couple patches back, it tends to give them a bit more aggro than your common druid.

as much as me (a druid) hates to admit it, such a nice shield should go to paladins first. AC, and WIS, wow, and Mana and HP to boot, they cant go wrong, oh wait, str and sta, and resists, wow, yes, Palis would definitely make the best use of this, but of course, it is not my call, its the raids of course, and if they want to give it to a druid, (more power to em) do it. Period. but, I still think this is a great shield, to bad ill never see one.
RE: paladins
# Mar 07 2002 at 7:20 PM Rating: Default
why the hell would you give this to a paladin? any paladin worth anything at the level required to get this would be well on his way to getting his epic, or be using the best 2hs he can get.

"any paladin worth anything at the level required to get this would be well on his way to getting his epic, or be using the best 2hs he can get."

Gee, thanks for putting all Paladins in a box. =)

There are a number of awesome 1HS Pally weapons now, and while most Palidins go for 2HS, not all do. I try to keep my Pally's 1HS/2HS max'd, and normally use 1HS with a shield, partially for role-playing purposes. Oh...wait...is that allowed? I guess I better switch to 2HS only, so the conformity police don't get me. =P
RE: paladins
# Mar 26 2002 at 2:20 PM Rating: Default
First of all, because the saves on this item is the same as the Defender and better than the Avenger, so quite probably even though you would lose some of your base damage by using a 1HS, more than likely you will have a 1HS with additional stats on it so you will in the end gain saves, stats, and AC by switching out. Second, because not every Paladin over level 50 has their Epic and there are only a couple of 2HS Paladin swords that have better saves than the Epic. Each of these are almost as difficult to attain than the Epic itself considering the level and Mobs.

This is indeed a great Paladin Shield no matter what this clown thinks. If I had the Petrified Heartwood Flamberge, I would definately turn this down as useless. However, I do not think I will be killing Tunare any time soon, so I will settle for this Shield for its AC and Saves when it is not necessary to use my Avenger.

Sorry bro have to disagree with ya, i think paly's should receive a fair shot at this shield yes. But saying it SHOULD go to them? nahhh dont agree with that, the AC is just as needed for clerics (ummm healing = agro) or shammys (slow = agro) as it does for a paly. Sta = HP which all classes need, and 20wis, all classes that can use this need. Most likely if it was up to me, i'd award to whoever would get the MOST upgrade out of it. I.e. person with a 5ac shield would get this before the person with a 30ac shield. Also take into consideration this is gonna be gotten on a guild raid most likely, where stuff like raid attendance, etc is taken into account.

Just my 2cp...

~K~

P.S. i would cut off my left big toe for this shield =p

VI made a funny, what a joke giving rangers a shield, hmm you'd think we'd have dual weild by the time we get this.....now to stop flaming.

Awesome shield for Druids Clerics and Shamans, not to go into the whole well this class should get this and blah blah blah, I'd put it on a cleric first, then the druid and shaman could roll, just my opinion though. Pallies could get great use out of it, but they have badass 2hder weapons. Any class that can use it should get an equal chance at it if they want it though.
Was should get this?

PALLY?? King of 2hs?? IF (and I doubt) you dont have a WIS caster that needs this one should be found, as the other classes wouldn't use it too much on account that Pallies use 2hs, Ranger's ALWAYS duel-weild, and so do BST. SDo if it come upto giving it to a non-wiscaster, it should be rolled by all the other classes impartially.
