I believe!!!

This is a sweet shield...us WISers usually start with a shield for AC (because at low level, the WIS isn't as important), then switch to a WIS item (Testament of Vanear, or whatever you can get, not that there was much better before Luclin came along)...and then we try to find something with Resists and WIS...but this baby's got it all!!! With Epic, a Druid would have 40WIS in 2 slots! I'm drooling already!
Only other thing I can think of with 20 WIS is the "Biled Coated Codex" from Acrylia Caverns...20 WIS 50MANA with Flowing Thought 1...I'd take that if I couldn't get this =)

anyway, I hope I get the chance at this when the time comes (Pally has 2H Epic, Ranger is using Dual ..that's a given...hmm, Cleric is asleep and misses the roll, shaman upset the guild and they won't let him have it...what's a BeastLord? heh..jk...haven't grouped with one yet, but there isn't one in my guild that I know of...unless my level 3 gets in...(got boring being a melee class for that long...and VS newbie zone sucks...ce la vie))....*Crosses fingers and writes a letter to Tunare to get this for his birthday*

The quest shield from Katta Castellum, Shield of Bane Warding, has +20 wisdom as well as 25ac. Not a bad little shield either if I may say so.

The newbie zones are the best for VS imo, because of all the quests. You hardly have to kill anything till level 9 if you just do the quests alone!

Wow this is nice. Guess since most pallys in my guild have or are shooting for epic (2 hand) this would go to clr drud shm.

That is some hefty competition though.. dang this is nice. Best drd clr shm shield I've seen.

Ok.. Let me get this straight now.. If you happend to see the item 'Cloak of Faith' then you will understand this one.. The cloak is for enchanters only and has dieties as part of the requirement. this shield does not. Same type of name. Then for those who say that 'faith' is only for good classes, plz note that the cloak is for almost all dieties. (good and evil) VI is messin with my head.
Yeah but all these classes are DIETY

All these classes have dieties ;) Well, I guess you could say vah shir does not but shaman and even beastlord does I think.

So if they did put dieties on this, it would only keep vah shir from getting it.. kind of unfair. That is probably why the chanter one has all dieties on it but this does not.

Tell ya what you can make a valid complaint when you find a way to make ANY char of those classes without a religeon
Vah shir ;)

Vah shir shm, Vah shir bst.

On regular blue servers no religion, in fact you CAN'T have one.

SO having dieties on this item would ONLY keep vah shir from using it. Meanwhile the Enchanter one is a fringe item rewarding those poor enchanters who picked a diety, get it?

Next patch... shield of Faith becomes deity restricted... I'd just expect them to do that after the big whoop-de-do over the deity restricted chanter cloak..

I thought the Val Shar were all agnostic, so if you deity restrict it you would have to take beastmaster off the list?

Have to say that this is another very nice item coming off Rumble. Seems to be pretty much on par with what i;ve heard of his difficulty. Only classes I can't really see using this are Ranger and Beastlord as they both prefer to dual wield in general. For a paladin, nice wis bonus, decent AC and good saves plus melee stats. For Cleric, shaman and druid, wis allows them to swop out another item for even more saves, plus extra hp str and ac never hurt anyone. Can see this being roled for by any of the priest classes or pallys that don't have better first, with perhaps the odd BST that is using a shield and standing back as a caster, though not as likely.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 22 2002 at 5:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) suppose the only reasons Sk's aren't included on that list is because this seems to be a wis based shield.. but DAMN! if that thing had 20 int too.. i'd like it.. hell even if it didn't I'd like it!
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 22 2002 at 8:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well... that and it IS the "Grand Shield of Faith". Shadowknights are not reliant on gods for their spells- they're too smart for that. All the other listed classes DO, so they get a shot at this.

Shadowknights are the dark paladins for the evil gods, so yes, they are very much reliant on their gods in my opinion.

It is incorrect to think that SKs are the evil version of Paladins (or an "anti-paladin" if you will).
RE: hmm
# Feb 23 2002 at 5:46 PM Rating: Default
Palidins are good, sk's are evil. They have same offense and defense skills. They share the same alt exp titles. Palidins get a white holy steed, sk's get a black one. They commonly share high end weapons, that only their 2 classes can use. Sk's spells are based on pain and death, while palidins are based on healing and life.

I would say sk's are indeed an evil version of palidins. They are almost perfect complements.

Oh great, we have a Paladin telling us that we're incorrect for being an Anti-Paladin...

Well I got news for you... I'm evil... I worship an evil deity... Personally, I fight to spread pain, FEAR, and the word of Cazic-Thule across the land... I RAISE the undead to do my bidding...

If this isn't anti-paladin... then the next main tank in the Vindicator raid is going to be a Ranger...

To say a SK is the opposite of a Paladin is the same as saying a Necro is the opposite of a Cleric. This is simply not true. Were an SK to be an "Anti-Paladin" They would still be based off of Clerics... just worshipping Innoruk instead. That's my take on it and yes I do play an SK.
RE: hmm
# Feb 23 2002 at 5:05 PM Rating: Default
Actually, IMO, the Necro very much (in idea) the opposite of a cleric. They are the Masters of Death where Clerics are the masters of Life. Like priest classes, they are forced to choose a diety (which SK's I think also have to do).

Because they are INT casters, the SK is not considered here as a potiential hybrid user. Only Priest Classes and their hybrids.

um .... in a general sense yes, SK IS the OPPOSITE of a paladin. this clip:

Shadowknights are exactly what their name implies - beings with the power of knights who live and work in the shadows. The antithesis of the paladin, shadowknights derive all of their powers from the evil gods they serve. Their abilities are a blend of warrior-like skills and necromantic studies. Generally speaking, good races frown upon this class, while those whose deities embrace hatred and pain tend to glorify and support them. They are only found among the dark elf, heretic Erudite, human, Iksar, Ogre and troll races

came from EQ official website :
http://everquest.station.sony.com/library/classes.jsp

also there are many NPCs withnames or titles that imply paladin-like status but are evil so they are SK NPCs. technically, any lizard SK is to become a Crusader of Greenmist. Crusader being a religous warrior.

most all knights, even in RL are somehow associated to a diety or god and are assumed to be looked upon in great light by their diety or god for they make the largest sacrifice for their faith... their own well-being.

as for Prodigyman, since you are playing a twink SK, i suggest you refrain from posting their background until you do some research on the class in question.

Touché!!! You tell 'em Shred! You are correct, Sir! etc, etc, etc....(the cookies are hidden inside the tree next to the bank, help yourself to one, good show!)

I *think* what everyone was thinking...
Paladins are a WIS casting Hybrid...as are all the other listed classes...hinting that classes that use "the powers of their gods" use wisdom for their "energy" (mana)...The wisdom of their gods, yadda yadda

Also, Shadowknights are Warrior/Necromancer...
I haven't checked their spell list for a while, but they don't have heal spells...they lifetap..like necromancers! There are other comparisons you could make...
