What do these look like? I'm assuming by the name they are black but can anyone confirm? :)

Actually, the graphic is black. The picture just must be a picture of the guy who found them.

Looks like the gnome in the picture is wearing full Warlords armour from Kael quests.
Sweet pants

Now these were a good development job on Verant's part. Not only do they have sweet style ala Elvis, but they have excellent stats too. Would make great pants for almost any non-plate/chain class. The low AC would be a turnoff for those aforementioned classes. I wouldn't know what to say about other caster classes, but I don't think they'd be as good for a wizard as for someone else. My 60 wiz is plenty happy with his Kael legs, the right click: Elemental Armor is fun, and all I'm really worried about anymore now that I've reached 255 int is more saves. As for my monk, would be nice too, but I wouldn't go so far as to say these are best for monks. With the multitude of plus stats and hp/mana AND saves, these would make wonderful pants for a multitude of classes. Rumblecrush isn't exactly easy either, level 66 mob in Umbral Plains. He got itemized big time pretty recently, and lately he's been dropping plenty of phat l3wtz. There's something for everyone, like the Calamity's End robe that I lost on... LoL. Good luck to all you happy hunters of uberness.
Class

I believe since these are all/all that there isn't any one class that would not like these pants. I would love a pair for my paladin or druid or monk or my bard. So as for saying which class they are for the most, none. Too bad they are not drop, would be neat to see people selling these in the tunnel. I can see it now, some bard walking down the "cat walk" modeling these trying to sell them lol. awww the possabilities.
RE: Class
# Jan 06 2004 at 12:58 AM Rating: Default
It's a hard decision to make whether or not I would want to have these for my sk. The problem is they dont have such great ac but they have awesome stats. I think for a melee class like pally or sk you could find better greaves with better ac, and equivalent stats.

Actually Chubbchubb (nice name there Killer)... you may want to take a look in the mirror. He has a valid point in his opinion. Why you gotta flame someone because they have an opinion? Its not like yours has anything worth saying...

But, I don't think any decent tank or puller would really care for these as even the Kunark armor (SS, Cobalt, etc etc etc) has more AC. Although these are nice stat gains. I actually see these being more suited for a druid and an int caster, as they get some of the crappiest armor in the game. These are pretty nice... but I don't see any self respecting tank / puller going for these.
mob names

It would be great if verant got a real sense of humor and made some really silly names. I think this should drop off of Velvet Jones for instance. Maybe add a guy named Smutty Jankins. They had the right Idea with Shady Swashbuckler.

actually verant did get a sense of humor with mob names... it's called the plane of mischief... albeit one of the least utilized zones in the game (also one of the hardest to get to), it has mobs who's name is simply "1"... and various other wierd names that you'll find nowhere else on norrath. not to mention that mischief has some of the more uber monk drops i've ever seen.

well playing a multitude of classes, my mains being either bard or shadowknight and more recently a beastlord,i would have to say these are very nice pants and i believe would best suit druids and beastlords.though this may be i would not shy away from letting a pure caster have them either because the int and mana would suit them and pure casters need other bonus stats also..they are not just int only..all classes need a nice rounding of stats added to the prime requisite.....NO MONKS MWA HA HA HA...jk :P

These pants had to be made from one of those big paintings with Elvis, JFK, RFK, MLK, Malcom X and Nekkid women all together. If you don't believe me, you obviously have never been to Tijuana.

I'm sorry, but you are all wrong. These pants are obviously designed for one class, and one class only. Bards!

I mean, come on...Black VELVET pants?!? Great shades of Elvis!

Sorry, trying to lighten the mood a bit. :)
Like anyone wants a druid in a group
# Feb 21 2002 at 6:57 PM Rating: Default
While i was going to leave this with no message, i thought i would elaborate. I play a druid, and its very hard to get in a group with warriors. Clerics are more understanding cause they know druids save chanters, but warriors are not the brightest folks sometimes, lol. OMG i am sounding like the dumb mage now that posted. Lets make sweeping generalizations without knowing what we are talking about.

seriously tho, ... cause i am just playing around. WEll all druids want to group, but it is not easy for us to get in uber groups till 60 cause we dotn get uber buffs till 60. Of course our friends let us in group, but druids tend to be discarded and cast aside for shammys and chanters for obvious reasons. What druid wouldnt quad kite tho. ?? Are the druids supposed to sit in BW and root dot a level 38 sarnak or should they quad kite 4 level 42 wyverns for the same manna expenditure. U do the math and let me know mr smarty pants mage, .... now go summon somebody cause thats all ur good for!

Hmm...everytime I see an item like this that would be exceptional to a druid I have to read about how druids suck in groups...druids can't quad past 54(hogwash). At 60...i crit for 2300-2760 with moonfire and mage bracer...heal for 400ish fast and 900ish slower(and soon 3/4 heal) and yes i do know how to group i have many alts and know exactly what my role is....I am a mana free regen castin healin wizard that has the armor to root park...as for these pants...they would be a decent upgrade to the elysian leggings i soloed for. When u see me killin 10 umbrous toilers on youre way to kill Rc on druzzil ro...send me a tell i will finish em and come along for the fun.

Yes, I think alot of people enjoys grouping with druid very much. But from your post, I am guessing you are one of those druids that started to kite at lvl 24 until lvl 55, suddenly discovering that you can't kite anymore, off you go jumping into Umbral Plane and start shouting for a group and expects an immediate pick up? EQ is a social game, by the time you get into your mid 50s you should have built a network of people that have played with you, that would be a tremendous help to your chances of finding a group. If you picked the soloing career of some druids, don't go blasting others for been dumb and not wanting to group with you. A good druid can make group hunting look easy, but not one who have soloed for 90% of their playing time. BTW, no, you are not supposed to root and dot a lvl 38 sarnak, you are supposed to be looking for a group and learn how to play and compliment others in a group situation. =)

I am not trying to blast druids. As a matter of fact, one of the best played characters I know is a druid, with her, everyone else's work just seems that much easier. But you can't expect welcoming arms when you never learned to do what you are supposed to in the first place

As for the leggings, I vote for the little bard who always get left behind to wither to have it. But I guess with most groups that can kill rumblecrush, they probably have looting rules set before hand. =)

I'm a druid... and I solo.

I'm nothing but a train waiting to happen if I was to try joining a group now (just dinged 42) but at least I KNOW that. ;)

I figure I'll keep going until 52-ish (just to get some AA points) then go camp equip to twink a group-type character, re-learn grouping skills and make some friends... THEN I might try getting my Druid into a group.

Know your limititations... getting your group killed because you don't know how to group isn't funny... unless it's something like trying to quad kite in Kael... THAT would be funny! :o)

Wow, someone has issues, and worse than me.

Seriously, Umbral Plains is no cakewalk. You need a strong group just to get the gimp drops (like Moktor armor), and a mini-raid to get anything better than that.

If you just said to yourself "Hey, Moktor armor is GOOD", then you won't have a strong group.

a nice upgrade from my Kromrif Military Leggings, no doubt (what are some viable upgrades for a 48 druid?).

I prefer the Elysian legs over these, druid only 16ac +15sta +7wis +10 int +50 hps +10 sv cold, sure you lose out 3 wis and some other stats but the extra 90 hps on the Elysian leggings makes them more viable for a druid, let the other casters grab these.

First of all if you have Kromrif Military Leggings on a 48th Druid, stop looking at something you need 5+ more level to attain, second of all Try doing a "QUEST" or are you too twinked to remember what those are? These Leggings are an Upgrade for everyone but unless you druids stop soloing and Quad Kiting and start getting into groups.... you'll never see these leggings.

After talking to a 58th druid last night about what we have done the past 15 levels of our life and she pops up with... "Oh, I've been soloing and Quad Kiting since 40th or so... now no one wants to group with me". After rethinking about what she said, she does remember pissing off a few people. Then she hands me some Dragon Meat(uncooked) hugs me and shouts about giving buffs out for 10min before she ports. Sure soling can be fun but grouping accomplishes 2 things, gets you recognition and helps kill time.

But Hey UBER Leggings I only hope a 48th Druid will one day see them.

Well, it's been a long time since I checked this thread.... Christ bro (Dynamite), step away from the keyboard once in awhile.
I'll have you know that I've tried quadding once in my life. After dying in 2 seconds flat, I decided to not try that again. Just as well, I do group, quite often. Just because I'm a druid, don't lump me in with all the others that have given Druid's their reputation.

For what it's worth, I was lvl 48 when I posted this, I'm now lvl 54 and I still have my same Kromrif leggings :)

Dynamite,
If you were as smart as you think you are, then you would know that Kromrif Military Leggings are a "no drop" quest item received in GD. Sencond, having these leggings at lvl 48 would NOT make you a twink. I helped a lvl 50 ranger get these when I was lvl 54 or so and also helped a lvl 47 drood get these as well (I also tried to help my drood roommate get these but couldnt get the damn wolf ta spawn ><). It is not that difficult a quest to do. They are pretty good drood/ranger leggings for the level they are attainable. He just asked a simple question and was wondering what lvl he would have a shot at them.

Personally, I would think at lvl 55+ if you went on a raid into Umbral, you would have a shot at them. Of Course, this all depends on who you raid/party with and how your guild(if that is who you kill him with) operates. From what I understand, Rumblecrush use to be a pushover, killable by one "well rounded" group of lvl 55+, but now has been significantly upgraded and hits in the 700's?
RE: Nice
# Feb 21 2002 at 5:16 PM Rating: Default
I don't think you are being fair. First of all, the Kromrif leggings ARE quested, and secondly, a 48th Druid didn't get through the quest by soloing.
