COV Faction

I'm Currently working CoV faction for my wizzy alt. He gets a couple spells from the brothers. one is a 78 one is a 79. Now the interesting thing about this is that the best way to work faction is by turning the crystals in to Dwindlix. Which can only happen if your 80 and can zone into crystallos. You cant do the mmm task for Gimblefixx until lvl 80 so that means no mmm base so no crystallos till 80 um????? So im pose to either kill in the valley from Dubious till Ally ( OMG this is gonna suck) or lvl to 80 skip the spells and come back for em later. thank you Sony :P

So in other words I'm looking at about 2500 npcs till I get to ally? Unless I find a quest or 2.

About 50-100. It's enough that gathering 10 essences (in a group with others also getting 10) that you can move up a faction level with the kills and turn-ins on short factions. Longer factions generally take 2-3 kills + turn ins. I have no idea on the A Quick Attack or the A Quick Errand quests, but quest in general range from 10-100s, depending on the quest.

About how many npc kills would I be looking at to get ally? I assume that the quests give better faction hits?

See http://samanna.net/gen.info/faction.shtml

Kills for trash mobs are generally 1 faction pt by the charts, Names sometimes more, and Named raid mobs generally alot more. Quests also generally alot more, but depends on the particular quest.

I really don't think its all that many. I handed in maybe 50 or so essences and I'm ally. However I have also tagged mobs when I was lfg that another group was killing so I could get the faction off that too. Sometimes I was /lfg for hours soooooo.....
Interesting possiblities for Velous Faction status

As far as I know, if you do stuff on Velious only, it is going to be very hard to impossible to get Kromzek, Kromrif, Tormax, Dain Frostweaver IV, Coldain, Claws of Veeshan and Yelinak factions all maxed at ally at the same time. With the SOF set of faction adjustments to Claws of Veeshan and Yelinak you could Max Dwarf faction by killing Velious giants, max Dain faction by kill Tormax and his few friends, or doing the few quests that are doable, Then max Kromrif and Kromzek by killing Velious dragons, max Tormax by killing Velketor, Yelinak or turn in kobold paws. Then go to Dragonscale Hills or Crystallos to max your Claws of Veeshan and Yelinak factions. Now why would you want to do this? I don't know, but some people have done extensive faction quests. I once saw a write up by an Iksar who had made a bunch of friends in the old world though various faction quests and selective mob killing. So this something to do when you are bored. Personally, I dislike Tormax and his ilk. So once my necro gets her Belt of Dwarf Slaying, and Gloves from Yelinak's head, she is going to engage in a bit of perfidy. Too bad necros don't have backstab ability. This will be my ultimate revenge for dying to giants when i was fishing in Kael Drakkal as a noob and foraging.

Every ooze, golem, or drake in the caynon to Crystallos and in all the mobs in Crystallos itself gave the following faction adjustments: - Loyalists of Kerafym, - Disciples of Kerafym, + Claws of Veeshan, + Yelinak, + Crusaders of Veeshan. (Note: limited experience in Crystallos, killed twenty or thirty mobs, same six or so spawn sites repeatedly).

Every mob in Crystallos that I killed gave positive faction with Crusaders of Veeshan. My experience there was limited to the mobs in the Earth wing, but I expect it is the same though out the zone. If you aren't pretty uber, you might want to stay out of Crystallos. We were without a tank for a bit, so my group members asked me to tank one. My ranger was at 19k hp or so, and about 3k ac. I died shortly after engagement, but at least wasn't one rounded. One round was for about 6.5 k, one of the hits in that round was for about 4k. After that we scrounged up a real tank. And I had two healers on me. Factioning by killing mobs is going to be a whole lot easier in the canyon leading to Crystallos. They only hit me for about 2.5k per hit when I got an occasional riposte and such.

There is a canyon in Dragonscale HIlls south of the Cannon to Fortress Mechanotus which is also just to the west of the weed overgrown canyon in which the King of Akanon lives. It is also the canyon leading to Crystallos. Every ooze, golem and drake i have killed in that canyon, and all of its side branches raised faction with Crusaders of Veeshan. My guild did the access quest for Crystallos as a raid, so we killed lots of mobs multiple times and I am still dubious to Tonas, who I believe is Crusaders of Veeshan Faction. But the faction hits flow freely, and as with all factions, if you keep doing the right things it should eventually move in the right direction. Thes mobs re more doable than the mobs in Crystallos.
