I have done at least 30 solo missions to try to get faction in katta and am still apprehensive. don't know why, but can't seem to break through to the next level.

5 faction levels to get through = 50 total missions of any type to ally.
Upon surfing through posts with various information i decided to test this myself it is still being tested but here is my results thus far.

Herb task confirmed 10 missions to get to indiff.
toon_001 20 missions to get to amiable.
30 missions to get to kindly.

Random Tasks confirmed 20 herb - 7 snake - 40 orux x5 - 50 orux x9 = 41 missions
toon_002 10 missions to get to ind.
20 missions to get to amia.
30 missions to get to kind.
40 missions to get to warm.

Reading posts on confirmed just orux missions 2000-2500 orux to ally.

10 missions per faction level = 50 missions to ally.
40 orux reward missions x 50 = 2000 orux to ally.
50 orux reward missions x 50 = 2500 orux to ally.

Still working on confirming just orux myself but what i have seen thus far is regardless of what mission type you do its 10 missions per faction level.

If your after fast faction just do the fastest missions you can possibly burn through once you complete 50 you should be ally.

I've been grinding herbs and serpents solo quests for faction. Have done close to 70 hand-ins i'd guess and i'm at kindly. I think the other posts below and Latan's replay are right. If you are doing purely solo quests it will take 120 hand-ins to get to ally.

50 or so more to go... yay! and *sigh*

for katta castrum faction,:

solo missions = ALWAYS 10 faction points

group missions faction point reward = orux reward divded by 2
so a group mission that nets 25 orux would be worth 12 faction points.



Now, regarding group missions, since solo missions are always 10 points;

the Faction reward for group mission scales just like orux, confirmed in a post by lead designer Rashere. that is why people tend to think "more orux = faster faction".. a bigger orux reward means a larger faction reward as well.

BUT, a bigger orum reward mission usually means its a harder mission to defeat as well (it's a system designed to create a balance in the risk VS reward for the missions, which seems to work well). The easier missions are easier to farm and less risky, which is why they are probably better for gaining fast faction, they can be pumped out fast where as a difficult mission may not even be compelted at all.

to go from apprehensive to ally is 1200 faction points. (that's 120 solo missions)

since solo missions are 0 orux, that throws off the whole orux related to faction level thing.. Technically, someone could have ally faction but have earned 0 orux if they did only solo missions.

these statements are incorrect unless devs have changed the way castrum faction works. The faction reward for group missions SCALES, meaning it will Not be 50 missions of any type to get to ally. For reference, here is a table of the faction points. Amiable is the longest to get through.

-100 to -1 ...looks your way apprehensively  (100) (10 solo missions to get through this faction level) 
 
0 to 99 ...regards you indifferently  (100) (10 solo missions to get through this faction level) 
 
100 to 499 ...judges you amiably (400) (40 solo missions to get through this faction level) 
500 to 749 ...kindly considers you  (250) (25 solo missions to get through this faction level) 
750 to 1099 ...looks upon you warmly (350) (35 solo missions to get through this faction level) 
1100 to ~2000 ...Ally faction

1703 orum earned all through faction-giving missions. That "should" be over 850 faction points, just enough to get from -100 apprehensive to +753 "warmly". I'm still kindly. I'm figuring there is some rounding to the faction payout and since EQ always rounds "down" (against the player's interest) I probably have a mission or 2 to go to reach warmly.

Then it's all downhill to allied! Downhill like from the top of Everest!

are their any solo mission or any mission that two peopel can do to make some orum???

I woudl love some new tbs gear my faction is wamrly so one step form ally. I cannot afford 200 paltinum for each orum so depending on getting groups is a real pain, seems liek tss and tbs are great for people who don''t raid and the ones who do raid have an atitude and won't help bc they say the gear is junk so that seems to elimnate 75% of the people!

all the missions which offer orux require 3 people to get the task, if you can get a third person you might be able to kite the mobs in the fate of the combine mission.

You can also get some individual tasks, instead of looking for people to do missions.
Find Parvus in one of the tents south of Zone in.
/say "serpents" for a "kill 20" task, t
then
/say "dent" got a "kill 25" task.

Can repeat them, and kill in spare time whenever you feel like it.
Rewards are faction and either urn parts or platinum.

if you're just after faction, IMO solo missions can be faster sometimes. solo missions = 10 faction points each
group missions faction points = orux divded by half
example .. the fate of the combine missoins is usually 25 orux, so it's only 12n faction points. You can work on herb retrival and the serpent slayer at the same time, instead.

matter of preference really i suppose, also many times the green house is camped.

Flora #1 is a pretty easy missions too. usually 50 orux (25 faction points) for that one.

fate of the combine is pretty easy.. it yields low orux usually though because its pretty popular. But yeah.. it's easy. mobs can be paci'ed by cleric with dulcify. But a group mission worth 25 orux that's only like 14 faction points or so and solo missions are 10 points so it's barely worth more than a solo mission.. but you do get orux too

type /tar a
and you can use it to target/dulcify efreeti's in rooms that have more than 1. lots of mobs in the instance can be avoided.. just make sure you hail the sphinx which is behind you when you zone in , before you start clearing mobs.

the mobs don't assist the snake boss that pops at the end, so you can pull him out of the rooms in the basement single. Start by pullling to the top of the instance because there are 2 efreetis that wander near the top of the pyramid. mobs in the instnace do not repop, do not summon, and are snareable.

most likely none. You most likely can only raise the faction through quests/tasks
