League of Antonican Bards

This faction covers the bards across Antonica, they are known for delivering mail, and being sought after by Mayong Mistmoore himself. It remains to be seen if Mayong's hatred for the Bards has anything to do with poor mail service.

The League has two guildhalls, one in Qeynos and the other in Freeport. In North Freeport can be found Marsheart's Chords, where Caskin Marsheart trains young bards. In South Qeynos can be found The Wind Spirit's Song where guildmaster Belious Naliedin teaches. The League supports the Knights of Truth and the Guards of Qeynos in their fight against corruption. In addition to Mayong Mistmore, the bards oppose the Ring of Scale.

Game Update Notes: June 16, 2021: The mail delivery quests offered by members of the League of Antonican Bards have been changed to be non-repeatable.

There is also one in Surefall Glade. She stands in the building when you zone in in the left corner to your back as you enter the door. Her name is Sivina Lutewhisper. She ask if you will deliver to Qeynos.

This really works to raise faction for Leaque of Antonican Bards!!! ...I want to thank all that posted this!!! I was tired of getting jumped by the Bards everywhere I went...I gave Fabian (he does not show in EF beastiery) in Tavern by NR 2gp ...We used camo + sneak, got on table behind him ...it took about 30pp at 2gp each time, alot of Fast clicking , and in 30 min I was from KOS to dubiously, which let me stand right in front of him...I don't know how many times I went to Mistmoore and killed or healed people...way too time consuming...This idea was great to learn...
Another way for faction

You can give Fabian in East Freeport 2gp for these faction hits:

Your faction standing with League of Antonican Bards got better.
Your faction standing with Knights of Truth got better.
Your faction standing with Guards of Qeynos got better.
Your faction standing with Ring of Scale got worse.
Your faction standing with Mayong Mistmoore got worse.

I became KOS for healing some poor soul near death in SK. Was promptly set up on by that Nostolo miscreant musician wannabe and have been killed on sight since, DESPITE killing no less than 10k MM residents. Killing MM residents does NOT improve your faction.
Easy Bard Faction

This must be the most well kept secret in the game. There is a Bard named Fabian in the Grub and Grog located in E. Freeport near the exit to North Ro. Giving him 2gp at a time will raise your faction with the Antonican bards, Qeynos guards and Knights of Truth while lowering your Mistmoore and Ring of Scale Faction.

Granted if you are KOS to bards you must have sneek or invis for this to work, but for about 120 plat worth of gold pieces (and a lot of clicking) I raised my Druids faction from KOS to Amiable.

As I said a very easy, but some what expensive way to atone for the sins of my youth.

You shouldnt have killed them. Thats exactly what you get! Once you get scowling you shouldnt be able to improve, mainly for gimps like you people who kill anything for XP.

Goto hell Diva killers ;P

But if you did kill divas, goto mistmoore and kill ALOT of things. You might not be kos then, also, once you get dubious, deliver some mail and your faction shoots up really fast.

Miniak's guide to getting unkos to Bards:

1) Level up to 59....after stupidly going kos in your mid-twenties

2) Round up a bored 58 wizzie, 54 warrior, 53 cleric, , and a couple other 55+ friends and head to Mistmoore.

3) send the warrior one way into the castle, while you go the other way into the castle (you better be a tank class)

4) agro EVERYTHING

5) bring em all back to camp, toss a small buff/heal onto the warrior so his agro also becomes yours

6) let the wizzie go nuts with AE's

7) rinse, repeat.

We did this for about 4-5 hours, killing up to 70 mobs a round. Took me from max bottom faction to dubious. So, in short, it is possible to raise this faction.....but be prepared to kill ALOT of mobs, like at least 1000 just to get dubious. Besides, it's a nice little break from grinding out 59 xp.

I have killed vhalen 3 times, and have not been able to get any faction gain, despite spending so much time in mm that it's rediculous. We had a guild raid there, killing practically the entire zone, and i'm still kos. Any suggestions?

Ok, Bard faction is most eaisly gained by hunting in Mistmoore castle. Everything in there gives Bard Faction gains. You dont even have to kill it, just help hit it and you get the faction gains.

Qeynos guards, two factions here, normal guards just whack the gnolls in that area and you gain with them. The corrupt guards are different. In highpass you can turn in orc or gnoll scalps for faction there with them as well as freeport militia. there are also several quests around Qeynos that can be done with the Rouges guild there to bring up corrupt guards faction.

Freeport, Bank guards, kill the orcs in the commons, easy. The gate guards (militia) see above.

I killed Vanhalen like 14 or 17 times, gone KoS to bards, I ACTUALLY MADE IT TO DUBIOUS, BUT........ it seems to me not all of them are on dubious. I am level 50, all the Blues and up are dubious or better (a suggestion there is actually at least 3 different factions, some con indiff) and I am KoS to the greens, no big deal but it does affect the time I can spend in a zone, eventually the little hits start to take effect on my health. I am wondering if anyone knows the other factions Bards are on. I am good with League of Antonican Bards.

Thanks,

Only other faction of bards I know of are the Songweavers, the guild trainers and merchants of the Kelethin bard guild. If you're KOS to them, only way I know of to raise it is to collect a bunch of spiderling silks, have some 39+ druid wolf form you, and turn them in to one of the bards (don't know which one, hail them, one of them mentions a quest for spiderling silk). Doing this results in a hand drum and faction with both bard factions.

I am a nice little Troll who tries to be a friend to all nice people. I have worked hard allover the world raising faction, and am considered an ally by both dwarves and elves, even the Barbarians like me now.

But thes Antonican Bards are anti-social psychos. I have avoided them like the plague they are as they have all conned red to me in the past. There are ways around towns to avoid the varmits - and I have becomeused to being carefulin towns.

However they don't all con red to me anymore - as many of these bards have found out. Looks like they will become good in-town experience from now on for me - I am hunting them with relish - I loooove to hunt evil which these bards seem to represent.

I do lose both KnightsofTruth and GuardsofQeynos faction, but these factions are both easy to raise as well. Killing orcs in East Commons raises KnightsofTruth, and gnolls in Blackburrow, Qeynos Hills, and Qeynos raises GuardsofQeynos faction.

So far the guards have not minded my actions in the least - I think becuase these bards are AWFUL - not like the melodic bards from Faydwer.

As a woodelf druid from Kelethin I hang out in town alot either practicing foraging, smithing, some tailoring, or jewelry making. Since I';m in town alot I decided to try and raise my faction with as many NPCs in town that I could. One NPC I'm having probelms with is Sylia Windlehand the bard trainer. I have done the going postal quest a few times and I am amible with all the other NPCs in the bard guild, but I am still indifferent to Sylia. Does anyone know if it's possible to gain faction with her?

TIA

Sylia is on Songweavers faction. The mail quest is League of Antonican Bards faction, no help. If you want to improve faction with her, she has her own quest. Give her spiderling silks and she will like you more =)

Well, all i have to say is that with my dark elf shadow knight, who was very very KOS to Qeynos guards and anything in Qeynos, I gained enough faction to glower dubiously in Qeynos, I camped in BB for a week or longer. Kept all the gnoll teeth, waited until my faction was decent with the guards then turned in all gnoll teeth and that boosted me up pretty good, so i am thinking since I got my faction up being horribly KOS with a hated race and hated class, that there is a way to get back up with bards again, just a thought.

What about not Mayong Mistmoore hating the bards but the bards hating Mayong? And why? Well look at the gypsies, they are know musicians for example, perhaps had the bards some kind of alliance (doubtful) or just friendship with them and through Mayongs enthralling of those poor guys he made himself some enemies.

I dont care what the Bards con to me. (most of them green anyways) but Is there a way to just not be KoS to them??? I go into any city with a bard, and they follow me around Missing me or doing low damage...I'm not worried about dying, it would just be nice to go into a town and not have some little bard trying to beat me in the back while I am trying to shop or do a quest. It's like living the whole Mangler ordeal in RiverVale all over again. If anybody has ANY info on how to stop this, please post it. Thanks a million.

Don't care what they con to you??? What they con to you determines whether or not you are kos. If you are at least dubious, you will not be kos. Although for some reason, that I have still to figure out. Some creatures con ready to attack but do not (Brutes in warsliks woods for example).

Anyway, good luck with the faction adjustment, it takes a LOT of time and patience, but my 35 Iksar Monk is welcome in most cities now. I've killed so many orcs in antonica now that I'm actually ally to the guards in north freeport.

OK I went from level 10-15 killing Misty in West Karana. Now i'm KOS and I'm a cleric so there's no invis for me. Most of the responses i've seen here are an answer for higher level people, what about for myself and some other friends I hiave who are in the teens. Any idea what we can do to improve.
The Bardic Vortex
# Dec 06 2000 at 9:20 PM Rating: Decent
I call this simple theory The Bardic Vortex. It states that because your unfortunate standing with bards, you will NOT be able to raise it. ALL of the quests that raise Bard faction needs to be initiated by someone with good faction and can only be completed by someone with good faction. I think indiffrent is enough. You can eventually raise faction by killing people in Gargs in OoT or by slaughtering everyone in Mistmoore, but it will take... months. These bards SUCK (you in with their good EXP and loot, but never be fooled, RAISE your faction to warmly or at least amiable before going on a bard killing spree)! It is much like a black hole... There is no way out.

Iterestingly enough, you can still do mail delivery and get faction hits, even when you are KOS. Just party with someone aproximately your level that is not KOS and have him deliver the mail. If you are in the same zone, you will share the exp (0.5x0 is still 0 though) and also get the same faction hits as the person doing the quest.

I don't know where this idea comes from. It's been posted in several other faction pages.. but you do NOT gain faction from a quest unless you personally do the quest.

Grouping with someone who does the quest only shares the experience.

P.S.
As soon as I raise it a bit, give me a tell and I'd love to help out any others raise their faction back to normal. I'll be on Veeshan, so just give me a tell if you need help. =)

The lowest-level non-quest mobs you can kill to raise faction with bards are the gargoyles in the Ocean of Tears. Depending on your class, you can solo or duo the gargoyles as early as maybe level 17-18. They should give experience into your low 20s.

At that point, you might be able to get a *full* (needs to be full) group in the very beginning areas of Mistmoore. All mobs in Mistmoore will raise faction with the bards.

I too have killed Nostrolo(many times) and a Sentry(only once) as I was was walking by...big mistake. Here's my question: my faction stinks with Knights of Truth, Antonican Bards and Guards of Qeynos. There is a low level mail delivery quest in N FP which addresses all of these factions. Assuming you can charm these NPC with a strong enchanter, could the mail run be completed? Has anyone ever attempted this? I do not know of any enchanters personally so I will call on the help of the guild and give it my best. Any input will be greatly appreciated or you can reach me at Xmenfan@earthlink.net. Thanks again.

Get faction up with use of an Enchanter
# Sep 18 2000 at 1:00 PM Rating: Excellent
Hi all,

First I just wanted to say that I was extremely KOS to bards at one time. I'm an enchanter and even with the use of Benevolence they were still "scowling". I spent about 2 days in Mistmoore with no success. I had heard, however, that factions are best raised through questing, instead of killing. I found out that this is so. Unfortunately, all bard quests involved associations with bards. I thought for a while and came up with an idea, and it worked. I looked at the name of the faction and noticed it said "Antonican" bards. So I went to the bard house in Kelethin, under invisibility and conned them all one at a time. I would target one, run out, cancel my invis, and hit "C" for con. Only 2 were of the Antonican bard faction, both of them green.

First of all, I proceeded to Felwithe, and saw Ticar Tissleplay right inside of the zone. I charmed him and was happy to find that he allowed me to receive the letter from him, as well as my friend who was also KOS to Antonican Bards. I then proceeded back to Kelethin to give our letters to Jakum Webdancer. However, there was another "green" bard in there. After thinking, my warrior friend proceeded into the bard hall and both of them jumped him. He ran out and I mesmerized the other one, besides Jakum Webdancer. None of the other bards came, much to our satisfaction. He was levitated by me just in case he had to zone, and was SoWed as well. But no other bards came, since they weren't "Antonican" bards, being that they resided on the continent of Faydwer. After Jakum's friend was mesmerized, I charmed him and was glad to see that he accepted our letters and we got faction. After doing this about 20 times, plus or minus (not sure), my warrior friend ran inside to pull the 2 bards, but they wouldn't aggro on him. He conned them and they were dubious, so I used /assist on him so my target would jump to Jakum and hit "C" for con, and he was dubious. This took no more than 30 times to do, and only having to zone once. I was able to gate to Felwithe, my friend had to run however.

Anyway, this was how I got my faction back. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How to get your faction up
# Aug 17 2000 at 2:16 PM Rating: Good
Hunt in Blackburrow, and gather gnoll teeth, there's a quest for them in Qeynos, and it ups your faction with the bards, this works really well. I turned in about 20 teeth (very easy to get) and I'm no longer KOS. This was after killing Misty through three levels, and then Cordilia through another two levels. I was very KOS to them. Now I'm just dubious.

What you said makes senses, until you said to turn in the gnoll teeth. I only know of one person to turn them in (Ccaptain Tilin or something like that in the Warriors guild in Qeynos). It doesn't raise faction with bards. If not him, who? Or will I wait until level 30+ to try and raise faction with those bards?

You can raise faction, just need to kill high level mobs in MM. I've done it, bards no longer scowl at me. I spent three days killing mobs in MM, and I'm still KOS, however my faction with them is no longer "scowl". Just need to spend more time in there.

Well folks killing gargs in OOT does not work either. My warrior friend is kos to the bards and we have spent over a week in oot killing hundreds of gargs. Wechecked her faction tonight at the freeport bards killed and still kos. Basically if you go kos to the bards you are toast. We also did mistmoore shooting arows at every mob everyone else was figtting as wellas our own kills and no improvement there either. She is at the point of restarting her character. By the way a guide suggested killing travis two tone in nek forest but he shows here in the bestiary as hurting your faction if you kill him. Anyone have any other ideas before this character gets retired?
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 28 2000 at 9:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Faction hits are based on charisma. Yup, you heard right. I've learned this, because it took me only a few fights to get amiable in highpass with 110 charm, while an ogre friend of mine (read 35 charm) has spent weeks there and is still KOS. There is also the other idea, that if you do enough harm to a certain faction, they simply will not forgive you. Hey, I agree with that, you put an arrow through my friend, you could give a million plat to the twink a newbie fund, I'm still going to want your head on a pike.

Killing Gargoyles in the OOT is one way to get your faction up with the Antonican Bards - it can be profitable, too.
