This is the easiest way for EVERYONE to get to NFP from WFP
# Nov 16 2000 at 3:46 AM Rating: Default
Ok, coming from teh EC and facing the fp gate go to the wall on your left, follow the wall down to where there is a corner and go around the wall and in a spot you go through it. From there on its pretty easy, a bit dark though, and u will need a light source if you dont wanna get lost. You follw the LEFT side when going to NFP, you will go down and there will ber a slainted upwards hill, go up it and go LEFT and just follow the wall and whenever you can make a turn left take it. this will bring you to nfp. OOH and in a big circle room go strait through.

I thought this was all common knoledge, but decided to post it incase this could help you.

have fun.

Very true, but there is a DE in the entrance to the tunnel who cons red to me at 30. I don't know what faction he is in, but if you have been killing DE's be warned. (I have only killed one DE and he cons dubious to me)

Well, to all non-evil Races he seems Dubious. To my Wood-Elf Ranger (19th and hunted in Crushbone, East/West Commons, and Lake of Ill Omen) and my 9th High-Elf 'chanter (now used as an errand runner) in High-Elf, Half-Elf, and Human forms he con'ed Red and Dubious. My (now 10th) Iksar monk who is in East Commons working on Faction in FP can sell to him and he con's Indifferent. Not sure if he is KoS with any race/class un-provoked but does sell various Poison Supplies so is prolly (but just as likely not) a rogue. By the way, he does not talk let alone sell to my ranger/enchanter.

Just turned Indifferent, how many more orc picks?
# Nov 10 2000 at 1:32 PM Rating: Default
As noted in subject, just turned faction from Apprehensive to Indifferent doing Janam and Rebby's quests. Now Guard Valorn wants me to continue to give him picks. Any ideas whether we're talking hours, days, or weeks to accomplish this? Quest may well not be worth it.

Why do you want to keep doing the quest? You are not Kos, why are you doing the quest? What are you trying to accomplish?
How to Raise Faction
# Oct 10 2000 at 11:19 AM Rating: Default
This should answer answer a lot of your questions. BTW this is a guide written to help paladins that went for their Soulfires restore their factions with the Freeport Militia, all told it takes 12-18 hours of mindless clicking doing the potion quest in Erudin and the faction lowering bandage quest in Rivervale (lower faction to avoid caps).

As far as getting Ogres in and out of freeport - the DF belts sounds like a decent method.

Getting out of KOS status with an IKS monk...

This is a long, tedious procedure, but by far the safest yet I've found. Make a mule rogue that starts in Freeport. (or get your high lvl char to do it, preferably a mage so he can gate one way at least) Hail the inky underneath the Tavern at the docks and tell her "Who is Janam and Rebby's?".
This will give you a note that you hand in to Rebby in WFP in front of the ashen order. Do this until you have about 6 or 7 stacks of Rebby's Rat Whiskers, then give them to your IKS monk. The key to handing them in is sneaking and staying BEHIND the inky. As long as her back is to you and you're sneaking, she will be indifferent which will allow you to hand in the whiskers and have them count. This will give you good faction with FP militia, Carson McCabe (ruler of FP) and the tradefolk (both good and bad). Your IKS monk can procede to slay the orc pawns, apprentaces, and centurions to get good faction with the Hummie Monks. (Ashen Order) Don't kill anything higher than a cent though, as your bad faction will bottom out and you won't get anymore increases.
This works only for a monk that has the sneak ability at lvl 8. As far as every other class goes, maybe a wolf form would help to turn in the whiskers, but I do not know.
I hope this helps ya'll. =)

RE: Getting out of KOS status with an IKS monk...
# Feb 22 2001 at 11:07 PM Rating: Decent
I logged everything, and in total, I became non KOS by doing the Rebby note message somewhere between 142 and 162 times.

So if you've handed in 7 stacks, you only need 1 more at the max to hand in, and you won't be KOS to the guards anymore.

getting into freeport with kos
# Sep 17 2000 at 1:41 PM Rating: Default
first of all..

there is a way to get in FP without being KOS. find a lvl 36 or so druid to turn you into a wolf and voila, all your factions have changed. be carefull if you zone you lose wolf form. and also if you are kos with militia and not knights of thruth you can also pass throught the paladin tunnels wich is at west gate. when you zone in from ec to WFP scrub for the secret wall on the left brick wall.... its at the end when its about to turn to the right.. good luck

Well.. it works for now, but you never know....this might change in the near future. The guards in Everfrost and elves in Firiona Vie hate wolf form and will KOS you if they see it, regardless of your faction standing with them. Personally, I'd either go invis.. or just get SOW and run like hell to the North FP zone.. which isn't too far away. You should be able to make it.. even with all the guards chasing you.

A few days ago the freeport guards looked dubious to me. Like an ***, I help a guildmate kill Sir Lucan for the piece of the soulfire quest. Naturally, I am KOS now. I have gone to Highpass as some of the other posts have said to do and purchased LOL gobbie ears. I have probably turned in close to 100 or so I would guess and still in KOS status. Any idea how many ears this is gonna take or is the KOS that I have never gonna go away like I have heard for Killing LUCAN.
NOTE TO SELF: let the KOS ppl kill lucan..lvl 50 and my game just went to hell...and Im not happy about it. =(

RE: SIR LUCAN AND FP MILITIA FACTION>>>

I'm working on restoring my Militia faction myself after helping a guildmate get his Soulfire. There's a quest in Erudin that starts with Toresian Fhabel next to the fountain in the casters' guild area. Tell him "I wish to assist Toresian" and he will give you a potion bottle to take to Slansin in the Vials of Vitality on the bottom floor of the same building. The 'Slansin' at the counter is an imposter working for the Qeynos rogues. Giving him the bottle raises several 'bad guy' factions (Militia included) and lowers *none*. The bad news is that a) it is a small faction increase - takes several hundred runs of the quest to see improvement - and b) if you max out one of the factions on the list you can't get anymore increases from doing the quest (I went from Scowls to Glares Threateningly by doing the quest, but am now maxed on it... arg). If you can get someone with feign death to drag Slansin upstairs next to Toresian (no one tries to help Slansin when you attack him... guess they know he's a fake) all the better - makes the quest much quicker to do (still mind-crushingly boring, tho).
RE: SIR LUCAN AND FP MILITIA FACTION>>>
# Nov 14 2000 at 10:56 AM Rating: Default
Once you max the faction of a certain group all others will stop climbing. I think we all no this, the trick is to find something that lowers the faction you have maxed. In this case the faction you maxed is more than likely the Coalition of Tradefolks. Easy way to lower this faction is go take some bandages to the little Halfling in Misty Thicket. The honeybugger guy (sorry can't think of his name)
Give him some bandages it lowers the Coalition faction, then go back and do the inert potion quest until you get that maxed faction make a trip back to Misty, Rinse and repeat until you can do some militia quest or you are where you want to be.
It is possible to become Un KOS to freeport this way after Soulfire. It will take you hours (18+) but it is possible.

After becoming kos to fp militia, this is what i'm doing. I did the tumpy tonic quest to get amiable to coalition of tradefolk illegal. I got the tonics, then had to kill the inkie in the bar to get groflah to spawn (which gave a serious negative faction for alot of things by killing her), I then turned in about 100 tonics to groflah to get my faction back to amiable to many things, except fp militia. Then go under the docks, below the bar, theres an inkie female you hail, that gives the rebby/janam note delivery quest. Deliver the note, then take the spider legs back to the inkie female and you get several positive faction changes, no negatives.
I did the whole highpass orc scalps\gnoll fur\goblin ear thing, spending many hours and plat (buying the things, since I don't get exp for killing them, and others are camping them), and it did nothing for my faction, visually anyways. The note delivery just takes time, not cash, so i'll be doing that for awhile, and report if I ever get out of kos.
If you are evil, and don't have the option of the tumpy tonic quest, I would get to highpass, kill enough orcs/gnolls to get to at least dubious to the highpass guards, and then do the orc\gnoll\gob turn ins to get off kos.
It can be done..yesterday I ported an ogre that was hanging at the newbie lift in kelethin..

I know of three ways to raise Militia faction;

1) Pass a note from Hardin in the tunnel under Freeport to Janam in the Theater of tranquil and then back to Hardin. Unfortunately, you will need invis to get in or a friend to bring the note from Janam to you near the dock.

2) Turn in Left Goblin ears from goblins in Highkeep to the guard near the bank.

3) Turn in orc pawn scalps from the orcs at wall to the guard near the orc wall.
RE: Militia Faction
# Sep 06 2000 at 4:31 AM Rating: Default
The best way is to collect Deathfist belts and
turn them in to Captain Hazran. You need someone to invis you on the way in, and also get the
guards to leave the balcony where Hazran is.
Finally, make sure Hazran's back is turned to you
when you start turning the belts in, because you will turn visible. If you sees you he will kill you too. 25 belts turned an ogre friend to non-KOS; I don't know what the minimum is.

Flikus (I think that is his name) has always seen invis as far as I know and he is a Militia House door guard..

You would have to invis and levitate over the walls and land on the upper patio to do this.. You can get above the walls near the middle of the zone by climbing up some rocks... and when you turn invis from handing the item in he will aggro you anyway. You would need sneak to hand items in unseen.

RE: Militia Faction
# Sep 09 2000 at 1:49 PM Rating: Default
The orc wall is in High Pass Hold, nearest to the Kithicor Forest zone. The orcs there are approximately level 19. If you get orc scalps, you can turn those in to Volunteer Delharn, who stands near an archway just past the orcs. He isn't always there, as sometimes the orcs kill him, but he does spawn relatively quickly.
RE: Militia Faction
# Dec 21 2000 at 10:59 PM Rating: Default
I'm an iksar, how do i turn the scalps in to him? The trouble with EQ is that you should be able to raise faction by your deeds, not by trickery with invis etc; after all, if you are invisible, how did the guard know to thank you? :)))

Killing orcs should raise faction with militia and not the paladins, in my opinion, because orcs attack the militia and so are natural enemies. Paladins should be impressed by the slaughter of undead and other foul beasties.

In my own opinion. Just kill the things that give the counter faction. Find one on the list that will give exp and then go kill it. I hurt my faction killing guards and dont care if i kill the counter to get it back up. works for me should work for you
