Had a mage. Decided he wanted sow boots. Wanted to see if they'd work out of inventory slot since some class/race specific things will even if you're not of appropriate class/race. Okay.
ported mage and a druid to WC, ran both to north freeport. Bound near Bondl. loaded up circle of butcher. ported there and took an enchanter with.
pulled pegleg to ring. killed him. charmed spirit, now indiff to all. said last phrase. got gem. gated self and druid. chanter stays to keep spirit charmed.
went up to bondl. popped trade window with gem. invised from druid. clicked trade. faction. followed bondl to the point where he stops and asks his question - since he stands there for a bit. rebound there. ported back to butcher. got gem again. gate, repeat until desired faction. took him 10 or so times to go from dubious to amiable.
On an aside, he got the sow booties, 'your race/class/deity cannot use this item' some of you may say 'duh.' stranger things have worked.
Ah well, it was something to do. Xtik seemed to enjoy the fuzzy boots till mage reclaimed him.

You can raise Truespirit Faction by giving Modani Qu'Loni the parts for the enchanter epic. It's a *****, but I did it and noticed the positive faction hit.

I still don't know what to do to increase my faction. I'm a 54 Erudite Wizard and I'm currently apprehensive to TS. Don't know how to increase it, anyone have any ideas?

I am currently trying to the Sk epic and trying to find out how i cando the quest with Gerot Kastane. people told me that he is on the true spirit faction. PLZ REPLY i am trying to figure out how to do my SK epic cause i handed Gerot Kastane the sealed note from his brother merl and it failed, PLZ REPLY!!!

Do the epic in order and you wont fail. Each step of the epic raises True Spirit faction so the next npc will respond properly to you. Do it out of order, and turn ins will fail.
So not true... Did everything step-by-step & spirit in EJ won't talk to me, dire wolf in MM won't talk to me either, I'm an iksar shaman and they are on - kindly considers...

well, if ur Kos and can't do the quest, help a friend who has it and when it gets to the part where u loot it u loot it insdtead of him might work.

Im a 55 sk trying to get my epic, i however have been kos to my epic npcs for some time. Ive spent the better half of 9 months thinking abotu how i can fix my faction. i tried charm lesser spirit charm bondl trick i do not receive faction. Ive tried assisting shamans and wizards and even other sks along their epics still no luck. Anyone have any clues or hints as how to do this *note im kos and it doesnt seem to work with charming techniques my wifes char is a 49 enchanter and she can do the same quest and get faction. Anyways ive sent email to the lead gm maybe he can assist me
Kurron Ni is not on the truespirit faction but adjusts it. The whole purpose of the first 3 things (kurron ni, cough medicine, tomb) is to raise your faction to the point that the others will talk to you. Starting you low on the faction and needing to raise it with each step is the way verant tries to ensure you do the quest in a linear fashion. If you just start the quest and go through it normally you will have the faction you need for each NPC as you get to them.

If i kill lesser Spirit i will lose Faction with True Spirit? anyone know?
I killed the lesser spirit (spawned from Peg Leg in BB) several times yesterday and there was no faction hit whatsoever from doing it.

I need Kinlo for druid epic. Gotta hand in Jade reaver but hes not talking!! I con Dubious but he doesnt attack me till several hails. Can an enchanter charm him and I do the quest then?? Does that really work?? Thanks...

I don't know if the charm method would work on Kinlo, depends on his level, but the method mentioned below to charm the lesser spirit does work. Its the method I used to raise my faction enough to get the NPC's I needed to talk to me for the Wiz Epic.

I was planning on advancing my epic when I got stopped at Camin in Erudin with an apprehensive faction. Went to all website and all I found to raise my faction with True Spirit was a post about the shaman quest with lesser spirit on Gormit Island. Verant, however, in their infinite wisdom had changed some things since the quest was last done and it was not functioning with camping to get a 15 seconds indifferent faction with all mobs when you relog. Being apprehensive to the lesser spirit, I couldn’t hail him to obtain the gem I needed to raise faction. I decided to go around the obstacle with this old trick.
Most information you will find bellow were already posted. The person who posted it remained anon for some reason. To whomever that may be, thank you for the basics of the quest. I just edited his post to match what I did to raise my faction from apprehensive to indifferent.
1. Ask a high lvl Enchanter friend of yours if he can help for an hour or two.
2. Take boat to OOT, go to Gornit Island and bind yourselves at loc. p680 n5325.
3. Set up the following hot keys. I numbered mine 1-4 just to make things easier.
1. /say yes
2. /say he threatened my life
3. /say who are you
4. /say I wish to know more
4. Kill Capt Surestout. He is in the tent. Lesser spirit spawns.
5. Enchanter now charms the lesser spirit. That will make him indifferent to you.
6. Hail him. Hit your hot keys in order. No need to rush he is charmed. He should give you a tiny gem.
7. Port you and your Enchanter friend to N Ro. run to N Freeport to the NW corner of the zone. (Near the building where they sell muffins) Jump in water swim through tunnel a short distance you will see a break in the wall with an NPC named Bondl Felligan. His loc is P460, N20.
8. Now follow the order precisely here: 1- Hand Bondl the Gem. DO NOT HIT “GIVE” BUTTON RIGHT AWAY! If you are apprehensive you will lose gem. 2- Ask your enchanter to cast invis on you. Once invis, you become indifferent to him. 3-Now is time to press “GIVE” button.
9. Your faction with True Spirit got better.
You gain party experience.
10. Gate to bind point, repeat. Lesser may still be up for a couple of trips. Check faction till you are indifferent to Bondl(Remember the spirit is charmed and will con indifferent to you.).
Final notes. I had to do this quest 6 times to get from apprehensive to indiff. Binding there helps a lot because of downtime that would be caused by the boat ride. Once you are indifferent you no longer need the help of the enchanter to charm the spirit and invis you in NFP. The Enchanter helping me did the quest along with me. Why not? He is there and has to go both location of quest. Good faction with someone cannot hurt you can it?J Thank you Elvorfing (Enchanter extraordinaire) for helping with this quest.

Good quest tricks. But two things.
It doesn't have to be Capt Surestout. Killing any of these 4 will spawn the lesser spirit for starting the shaman epic:
Capt Surestout (Ocean of Tears)
Blinde the Cutpurse (Rathe Mountains)
Peg Leg (Butcherblock Mountains)
an Iksar Manslayer (Field of Bone)
You don't have to make a macro with all 4 lines. Just the final line to receive the gem: /say I wish to know more

This faction is on sk epic too i am curious as to how i can build it up or can the NPC's be charmed?

At some point i waisted one epic part and had to restart epic from beginning. When I killed captain, the spirit didn't want to reply to my Hails. BUT - I just keeped telling phrases I was supposed to say (though he didn't reply), and after last phrase he gave me gem. Try that out (you need a script though of what you have to say, find it on the web).

So was the faction being neutral for 10 seconds after you zone, so apparently if you are a wizard and cannot get Camin to speak to you you will never be able to get your wizard epic quest, since there seem to be no mobs that offer a positive faction hit for true spirit

Doesn't it start at indiff? or have you been killing the NPC's related to it?

The new Trick that involves capt surestrout doesn't work anyone either. Anyone have another way of raising true spirit?

if you're grouped and do a quest, the only thing that's shared is the exp, not the faction hit, even in multi questing, the person to hand in the last piece is the only one to get the hit and reward.. I'm not sure how/if you were getting the hits.. *shrugs*

Okay here it is. The note was nerfed but you can raise faction. I was apprehensive to start. Here's what I did.
1. Took boat to OOT went to gornit island bound myself at loc. p680 n5325.
2. Set up the following hot keys. I numbered mine 1-4 just to make things easier.

note: if you are indiff or above you don't need the hot keys but it makes it easier.

4. Hail lesser spirit. Keep him targeted while you sit and camp. hailing him every few seconds till camped out.
5. Log back in! hail lesser spirit then hit the hot keys in order. you have approx 15 seconds to complete this since your faction is at indiff till then. You should get a gem from the lesser spirit.
6. Gate to N Ro. run to N Freeport to the NW corner of the zone. Why are you doing the shaman epic tho? Is the lesser spirit required for other class epics? Sorry, I am unaware of this is all. No offense intended to you.

if you come from the "secret" tunnel from W FP newbie area and zone into N FP you can usually run over to bondl and hand in the gem before faction takes effect. Will save you some logging.

whoever thought this up is ingenious, i have no clue what would even make you think about trying the log out trick like this. But im damn glad you did.
Not that hard to figure out...VI originally put it in so that you would not log in and already be taking a beating (because of lag, you can appear in the game before your computer is done) and if you had low health when you logged, you could theoretically be dead when you logged in, was a good idea but people just had to take advantage of it...

How can you raise true spirit faction? I'm trying to do my epic quest but am unable to do so because of true spirit faction :( Is there some other way of raising the faction. Repeating the beggining was nerfed so i'll have to find a different way... any thoughts?

The True Spirit Faction is needed to complete the Epic Quest for Shaman. Your faction needs to be at a certain level in order to continue to the next part of the quest. It is possible to increase your faction with the True Spirits by repeatedly completing the first part of the quest.

Dunno if the shaman quest was so nerfed, but the Wizard quest (same faction) was nerfed. On a side (worse) note, you have to have a minimum faction to do the first part of the shaman quest and this poor human wizard can't even get any respect from the lesser spirit that starts the shaman quest.
