If you're a bard or enchanter, you can cast some form of Alliance on Corun Finisc and the druid guild merchants will align to a faction good enough to sell to. This is a good trick because you can't cast alliance on any of the GMs or merchants themselves, which make up most of the faction.

Edit: You can also fix faction with the rangers and general merchants by casting Alliance on Merdan Fleetfoot.

Very good point by DinkumThinkum regarding the bears. I had no intention of attacking the bears, but went behind the waterfall to the cave there. A baby bear attacked me. Being a man of honor, I fled rather than attacked back, was making for shore with baby bear in violent pursuit, when the NPC dude near the campfire on the shore slayed me.

Am kinda new to the game (was about level 3), so maybe a (human) monk is automatically considered by bears to be aggressive, though I had good standing with the factions there, no problem trading, etc. Since then my attitude toward their sacred bears have changed, and I kill them with glee in the hills.

The JaggedPine Treefolk faction is only for the Surefall Glade druid guild, not for all Surefall Glade Residents: other Surefall Glade factions are the Protectors of Pine (Ranger Guild) and QRG Protected Animals (Surefall Glade bears).

Also, some of the merchants appear to be on the same faction as the Qeynos merchants, while other merchants have been consistently indifferent to every character of mine who's /conned them; not sure if those merchants don't have faction or are on some faction I've never raised or lowered.

You can raise the JaggedPine Treefolk (SF Druid guild) faction by killing any type of gnolls in nearby zones: Qeynos Hills, North Qeynos (newbie area), BlackBurrow, or Everfrost Peaks; this will also raise faction with the SF Glade merchants who are on the Qeynos merchant faction.

Note:

If you're KOS to bears, stay well clear of the waterfall behind the Ranger guildhall; one entrance to the bear caves is behind it, and the bears may aggro on you if you get close. If the bears attack you, most of the NPCs in the zone will also be after you, so swimming or fishing in the lake near the waterfall is NOT a good idea unless bears like you...

I've also seen a few bears in the woods between the druid guild and the north boundry of the zone, so be careful in that area too.
At least at level 39 if kos to bears they don't attack you w

My dark elf cleric of inny was there and still kos to the bears and rangers. In halfling form she is STILL kos to the bears but the rangers are up to dubious and the jagged pine druids to amiable.

The bears don't attack her at 39 though as they've been green a long time (and she is not silly enough to sit ;) )

I've never been there when mammoth was up but he might attack. If he did I'd just gate.

My dark elf cleric of innoruk was scowl with all druid ring people and treants.

I went to blackburrow at 39 and starting mowing down gnolls. I got it to threaten pretty fast but it took a bunch to get to glower dubious. Now that I am, I can get ported to the NK druid ring and such without worry ( I still need to quest or something to raise protectors of pine to not be kos from the rangers in surefall so I can get ported there too)

Any gnolls that you kill in Blackburrow(which are members of the SabertoothClan faction) adjust your faction up with the Jaggedpine Treefolk.
