the note to neclo quest...
# Dec 12 2002 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
i these guys started threateningly to me as a erudite sk. at 52, i decided to try and raise my faction, because everyone else in Qeynos loves me, but many of these guys not only extremely high level (red to 52), but they hit for the 300s..

i say this because i was in the big Q one day recently trying to raise my faction with them, and one walked by. i died soon after my FD failed twice in a row (coincidence*), so i knew i had to raise this faction

*coincidence that he conned super red and it failed twice? i doubt it. probably scripted to die if a npc cons red and you try to fd /shrug

anyway, to raise this faction, i got a group of 5 others that were just hanging out in the n00b garden. offered each 20pp to help. i have a level 4 human warrior who was able to show them what i needed, and i used him to get the note to neclo from one of the guildmasters there... the reason for this is the quest item is LORE but not no drop (yippee).

after we all had a note, i ran em all to Qhills, and had them sit tight while i logged my main on. they all handed me a note one at a time and i turned them in to neclo (who is green to me). he was threatening, but wouldnt aggro.

it didnt take too many trips, maybe 3, to get to dubious. and from there, i decided to do the blank scrolls quest, but im not worried about amiable faction or anything. i just wanted to no longer be kos.

now youre asking to yourself, how did i turn in an item to a threatening npc? didnt he say he wouldnt "do anything to aide beings like me"?

this is how you trade to them when they dont like you. in the case of neclo, you turn in the item, but before you hit trade, you get invised. check to make sure youre indiff, and continue.

as an SK, i have hide, so i do exactly what i just said, but it doesnt require a 3rd party.

i dont know how big the faction hit is, so i couldnt tell you how fast the blank scrolls quest fixes faction, but its only 2gp, and the guy is in the same zone as the quest npc. i tried to attack him and pull him near the guy that needs the scroll with my 4th level warrior, but he would leave just as soon as i logged my main back on.

how can I fix faction if they wont talk!
# Aug 12 2002 at 1:37 AM Rating: Decent
I am Dubious to all the NPCs that give the quests so they will not give them to me. I tried to do them without them telling me what they need, and all they said was that they were watching me and I got no faction hit...

I can tell you that raising any caster guild factions is a pain. Most that I have found so far are quest which sucks if you are less than dubious. As an enchanter (Dark Elf) I have advantages and used them to gain faction. Then started my epic and had to destroy my factions in Qeynos with three guilds Order of the three being one of them in order to be able to cast benevolence and use an illusion to get into the underworld to an epic NPC in the first part of my epic. Really sucks and now I can't go into Qeynos without taking a chance of running into these guys. I was hoping to raise my factions back to at least dubious but alas like many cannot find anything but quest. Hunting PoG I don't believe I can even get into Surefall to buy the scrolls and the docks aren't safe becuase of the bluerobes running around there. If you find a mob to kill that will give you factions for them you take a hit against another and as a Dark Elf that can me nasty.
Like factions to the outpost(evil) in Overthere. It is quest and I am KOS there from hunting the dungeons there. :(
I am still searching and if I find something I will come back and share it with all.
kos to these people
# Sep 13 2001 at 11:29 PM Rating: Decent
Well, glares at me threateningly which is close enough to kos to not make a difference i guess. I have a dark elf warrioress who made ally with the guards last night in qeynos (the good ones that is) and kindly with their allied merchants, apprehensive with paladin and cleric guilds. It is annoying to constantly look over my shoulder for these people when I am banking (Kazlo Nedran and several others wander by the bank constantly). I too seem to remember faction used to be shared by the group, but could be wrong. All I want is dubious with them. Sigh. I really need some help. Has anyone tried wolf form and does it work, as suggested in a previous post?

Wolf form will only cover your race/class, if you have faction problems it wont help. =\ I am a de necro of Innoruuk and they are kos. I didn't know that till i wondered in here and got punched for a few 98's by the male and the woman hit me once for 170 wich is outrageous since shes light blue to a 34. Im sitting here right now feigned death waiting tor a lvl 24 mage to swim out and invis me, i guess her swimming skill isnt that great. I hope these bastards cant see invis lol.

*edit* I dont know if wolf form will fix your religeon. I just got up and made a run for it, they didnt try to melee me but i did get zapped once for 625(too bad i only have 5svm) but i got away and FD agian /cheer

Order of Three Faction
# Jun 19 2001 at 10:32 AM Rating: Default
I'm a wood-elf druid. I was able to raise my faction with the Order of Three by doing the Unser's Call quest, despite being dubious to Unser.

I was unable to do the Blank Scroll, or Bat Fur quests until my faction improved.

Just want to add my confirmation that as long as you start out at least 'dubious', you can do Unser's quest and raise your Order of Three faction: I've done it with several characters.

You will need a LOT of bat wings, etc., but it can be done.

Now if only somebody knew a way to raise your faction if you're KOS...

I've noticed that Caleah Herblender is just level 28. If she cons green to you there is a way to raise faction even if she scowls on you. Trade the items she needs into the trade window, let someone cast invisibility _before_ you hit trade and then trade... Because she is green she won't attack you, though i don't know if she is alone there...

Killing to Gain Faction?
# Mar 28 2001 at 5:25 AM Rating: Default
I have an idea, but not sure if it will work. Since I'm already KOS to the Blood Sabres (Bertoxxulous and Tunare apparently fought a lot as kids and so now hate each other), here's my idea. Kill any of the NPCs of the BloodSabre faction and see if your OrderOfThree faction raises. After all, doing quests for the Order of Three lowers your BloodSabres faction.... What does everyone else think?

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 26 2001 at 2:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well once again im screwd out of living peacfuly.Being kos in qeyons as a shadow knight wass hard enough as a erudite but i go there an i fixed my faction with the druids an rangers buy killing gnolls then poachers then tkeing ther heads to the head of the ranger guild an i got on ther good side but the order of three is totaly Screwed up even handing them a item then having someone turn me invivible they wouldint take my items im still kos theres nothing i can kill im not having fun an im not getting the most out of the game! If you ever go to erudin you can kill the herotic an get good faction with the deepwater knight an the spell caster guild an i mean all of them but in qeyones they only have one an you cant fix faction with them at all in a ranking of a game i give this everquest game a 59 out of a 100 if you can fix fation with every one somehow you kill the players fun. dont waist our time fix all of them an not someof them.
Someone Must Have Some Information

I was led to believe that any faction was fixable in the game, yet as a wood elf druid I am dubious to the Order of Three. The quests won't work for me, and no one seems to know of any monsters or NPCs to kill to improve this faction. I assume that this is a "good" faction and I am wondering why I am not at least apprehensive and able to complete the quests. This makes no logical sense to me.

I just ran into this problem myself and i think i might have a solution. I remenber when I was a little younger I was fighting orcs in crushbone with a group, I remember people in my group turning in keys to the slaves to free them and if i remember corectly the faction change and posably the exp was given to everyone in the group. I think that the same thing might work with NPC's you have bad faction with. If you group with some one who has good enough faction, then they can do the quest while you 'leach' off of thier faction change. Probably at least untill your facrion is improved with that group enough for you to do the quest yourself.

# May 30 2001 at 7:42 AM Rating: Decent
Unfortunately, only the Exp. is shared among the party members... faction is only given to the person who actually completes the quest. I do wish you all luck in finding a way, but I do believe it's possible that not every faction can be improved upon beyond a certain point.

Gaining faction with these guys
# Nov 22 2000 at 11:50 AM Rating: Default
Does anyone know if it is possible for a Barbarian Shaman to get better than Dubious faction with these guys. I have done Unser's quest at least 10 times and haven't seen any change. My Euridite enchanter was able to get them to sell to him by just killing stuff in the newbie zone, but though I have raised my faction with most of the merchents to amiable the Order of Three won't even talk to me except to say get lost.

How does an erudin necromancer raise faction with these guys. I hate getting killed by the wondering blue guys in south qeynos when I make bank runs there. Not to mention that I catch the boat there to erudin. I am kos with these people and so obviously cant do any of the quest listed. Was hoping someone knows something that isnt listed here.

Other people have posted that you need to do the quest 30 - 80 times, not just 10, to raise faction a couple levels. If you can afford it, it's easier to find and buy the quest components from local merchants.

It's pretty easy for an Enchanter to have decent faction almost anywhere (if Agnostic) but that's nothing to do with "newbie garden" kills. The only things that give faction there are the baby gnolls, and that list doesn't include Order of Three. I'm also surprised that you can even do the Unser's Call quest while dubious.

I also have a problem as an Erudian mage with these folks. How did you manage to gain faction by killing in the newbie garden. I thought you had to do so via quests?
