I played back in 2003ish a eur sk up to lvl 57, only difference I noticed when playing with other sk's was that I was casting spells a lot, without running out of mana, tanking with less hp's is tanking with less hp's, I just had to compensate by turning mana in to hp's, removing them from monster, adding them to my pool, eur sk has way too much mana for the reduced spell list, and when the spells get a bit better, eur sk is still casting them the whole fight, I would go by the ench mana regen buff and solo effectively, my main was a monk at the time so I used feign death spell very effectively too,

I would actually choose Erudite over most of the other races simply because STR and STA gear is easy to come by, INT gear is not and Erudites are all about INT. They will be weaker at the beginning, but over time that weakness will pass as you gear up but your superior INT will shine more and more as you level up and build a bigger mana pool and are able to cast more spells than the other races.
