Warriors - the tank class. Combining a powerful offense with a strong defense, warriors are best suited to slugging it out toe to toe with the monsters they face.

What is the best way to develop and play your warrior? What skills are the most useful for a warrior to develop and master? Can a warrior be soloed, and if so how? How should the warrior be played within a group? What weapons and armor whould the warrior seek out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Warrior and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Aggro Control weapon combos

Ok I've been browsing Forums till my head hurts, here and TheSteelWarrior, Before I ask my question for you long term Warriors out there, let me Start by saying I am in a newly formed Progression Guild on Test. We have entered Kunark content so gear dependant, also Droga and Veksar are tagged as no goes since they were added after the original Kunark. So gear isn't your uber bazaar pickings. But mainly what I want to know is on combos to hold aggro I know procs are big helpers, but lets say I have 3 weapons, Short sword of Ykesha, Ykesha Warclub, and a 14/27 no proc sword, the two proc weapons would be better I know for aggro, now lets remove procs for a min just for rough comparison, I believe from what I read delay is most important for main hand due to Swing per minute = aggro + damage mod, since offhand doesn't get damage mod is it better aggro to use high damage high delay offhand, or do you still want best ratio to swings per minute in offhand, again I'm asking for aggro purposes not dps. so the breakdown is with lets say 2 9 damage 24 delay weapons hold aggro better then a 9/24 vs a 14 damage 27 delay, no procs, because it would be common since that you'd go with the 9/24 with a proc over a 14/27 without one for aggro, and please don't reply with just buy a proc gem and put it in the 14/27 offhand cause like I said I'm in a progressive guild with rules lol, so those augs are not in our current content. Any information that points me in the right direction for this question highly appreciated.

I've always been convinced that dps = aggro. I've never seen anything to suggest that the number of touches has a signifencent effect on aggro.
So when just considering weapons, the best dps combo is the best aggro combo.
On proc:
Not all procs are huge aggro generators. The LDoN and later hate augs have great aggro, but dps like proces are not all that strong as far as aggro goes. Now you do have relativly low dps weapons and i think the proc on the yak was in the 70's. which could make up some of the dps difference.
Also how big a role procs play very much depends on how often you proc, boon of the guru or some such chanter buff became a big thing when aggro procs came into the game. Some say you get x procs per y time i've never found this to be the case with proc rate increasing with lvl and stats.

The str damage bonus is also a function of lvl at lower lvl when it is 1 or 2 or so it really dosen't play much of a role, but at higher lvl it can make a big difference.

It it were me I think in general I wouldn't worry too much about the damage bonus until after lvl 45 or so.

As for better weapons I believe the wurmslayer quest can be done around lvl 45 and that should be about the lvl you need to get either of the fast swords out of OS.
