Very tough MOB. Think it might be a rare spawn The MOB dropped A Gunthank Harpoon with following stats. Lore item, No Drop Skill: Piercing Atk Delay: 33 Dmg: 15 Wt: 20.0 Range 50 Class: War, Pal, Rng, SHD, Rog Race: All
A lvl 30 ranger and lvl 27 cleric took this guy on. I the Cleric attempted to cast on it but the MOB resisted a couple spells. So I sat down and medded the ranger. I ended up throwing 5 greater heals on ranger before the MOB died. This is drop might be for a quest but not sure. I can provide a screenshot of the weapon.

wow, can you see the delay on this? its only good to switch it in for BS and then switch it out for something with better dmg/delay ratio. Thats where the dps comes in, in regular fighting this would be my last weapon of choice.

Who cares if it isnt magical on PvP, you dont need magical weapons to attack players. Those of you on blue servers need to try PvP some time, its the only way to play.

yeah, 16 damage is the highest damage on a piercer for rouges and those drop in shaeshar <whatever> temple or in the new CT .. 15 dam .. thats rage damage i believe (rouge epic)

theres uber POP weapons rogue usable that have 18 dam i think... MAYBE even 19

Well i dont care aboiut its wesight or anything, the fact that farming just got easier. even as a 37 rogue can get a bit scary farming for poisons, so the extra dmg is mental, makes soloing a lot easier. well my 2 cents. still looking for 1 tho. hmm, hard to find. well goodluck podrays

OMG Does anyone realize this is the highest damage rogue usable peircing weapon in the game? Hello people! This thing is FRICKING UBER! And they have it drop from a 30th some odd level mob? Im gonna get my guild to help me camp this guy cuz I WANT IT, before they nerf it. I cant beleive this. A 50th-60th level rogue could BS for OVER 1000 with High str. Ive seen my brothers 53rd rogue BS for 700 something with a 12 damage weapon before. I suggest any fellow rogues seeing this, they go get one. Heavy? Yes but who the hell cares, Non-Magic? Yes, but who the hell cares.

You are correct, the epic is also 15 damage, but that does not negate the fact that this is tied for highest rogue piercing damage. Read carefully before flaming.

This zone lists two mobs, 1 called 'pirate destroyer' and another called 'a pirate destroyer' I've been camping the pirates for a few days trying to get the harpoon and I'd like to know if I need to be looking for 2 different pirate destroyers or if this is an error in the zone mob list. Specifically, I'd like to know if the 'a pirate destroyer' can drop the harpoon. TIA

Think about swtiching it in for a back stab. Trust me. I have a SBD and blood stained fang(9/33) and when back stab light up I put the fang in and backstab then switch it out.

Hello Everyone,
My druid spotted this guy about two weeks ago. Since then I parked my rogue in FV and check the area often.
I found him on the beach near the ruined buildings just to the left of the FV bridge as you leave the city. He was walking, so looks like he is not a static pop :(
Since then, I have seen normal pirates and misc Goblins pop near here. I presume they are place-holders for the big guy. As a side note, if you've ever hunted the giants in this zone, they re-pop fast, so I presume that all the re-pops in this zone are quick. Camping PH's might be an option.
Oh yeah... he didn't drop the harpoon when I killed him.

Being the badass Rogue that I am, I can't help wanting this thing for some real cruel backstabs. I wonder if he possibly wanders, or if he has a set spawn spot, such as the one Liam outlined. ArchMahgi@aol.com, I'll appreciate it.

A very easy mob I ran into at 41, playing tour guide to some friends. Ogre in plate looking fellow. He didn't hit long enough for me to say if he was tough, honestly. Good thing is good Firiona Vie faction. Found him near the shore in what seems to be a graveyard near Drolvarg temple and ruined camp. He was minding his own business, just standing there, and I just couldn't resist dropping yet another ogre.

According to the patch today it's not NoRent anymore meaning it will disappear when you log out. I haven't looked for a quest but I doubt there is one. I kind of think it's interesting what they did...to put such a nice weapon on a relatively easy mob.

What?!? Have I heard not that good? Understand that the power of a backstab is the STR of the rogue, the skill and the BASE DAMAGE of the weapon... you can BS for over 300dam at lvl50

for your arguement - if your only doing 300 dmg bs with a 15 dmg weapon at lvl 50 you need to evaluate your gear. i was hitting 308 at level 45 with a a 13dmg weapon.
against -(well semi) since this is indeed not magic. you need to keep something spare with you. trust me its pretty embarrassing to have your *** handed to you by a griffen while wondering through karanas (lol i was duel wielding grimling picks at the time.. never scratched the green conned griffen cause his skin was invulnerable to my attack)
p.s dwarf rogues uhm.. i mean miners rule

backstab damage is based on attack fyi...no flame intended

Actually, Backstab runs off of your attack and your skill (backstab), It divides your skill by 25 to get a multiplier(-->X) then makes a normal attack, and takes the damage from that attack (-->Y) and does your backstab as X*Y.
For example- My rog has a 188 backstab (it wont go up, dangit) 188/25= 7.52 And I use a pine shaft pike for my backstabber, 12 damage, Which is 12*2+Melee bonus of 5 or somethin for being lvl 42 which is about 29. Well, 7.52*29 Says may max Backstab is 218, which, b4 I went to bazaar and stacked up on str items *hee hee*, I was always hitting right under that. But now, after a high level storm str, I go to 221 str, and backstab for 250 max, so str is a factor, too.

so what if its not Magic? theres a great deal of monsters that exist and do not need magic weapons to hit...i only wish it was not no drop..i would love to use this as my first backstab weapon in Blackburrow :)

This mob was not all that hard 35th druid with only 4 bubbles of mana took him with ease he could barely hit me when he did hit he hit for 68 so he can pack a punch. Faction is Piratesof Gunthak got worse and Firona Vie got better..... Gunthak Harpoon lore item no drop I got it in the bank, still searching for the quest this goes too.

My group and I killed one of these guys the other day. He dropped a Gigantic Harpoon, 11 damage, 33 delay, piercing. NO DROP. I about cried though when I looted it, and it went poof. Didn't fit in a backpack... and my sewing kit that it WOULD have fit into was full, and I didn't know it at the time.
