Can confirm. Neither spells nor melee attacks are doing anything to him.
racial preference of Krak

Krak is on the Aviak faction. After reading previous posts here, and on the Aviak faction page, I did an experiment using illusion potions to determine which races would be able to sell/buy from Krak. Listed below are con values for the various races. I used a nearby aviak rook as the mob that I conned because merchants will never con below Dubious.

edit (01-Sept-2018): using my agnostic high elf enchanter (who also has never killed an aviak in any zone), I have added how aviaks view high elves (added below). I also confirmed my previous entry concerning the various races (which I originally experimented via illusion potions with my agnostic bard). Next, I may try to experiment with the various religions. For example, I have a Brell-worshipping dwarf who has never killed any aviaks.

I have a half-elf agnostic bard that I used for this experiment. She has never killed any aviaks (in any zone).

The following races con the aviak as Dubious:
half-elf, earth elemental, fairy, kobold, Guktan (the playable race), froglok (the mob/NPC race), goblin, skeleton, gnome, vah shir, dark elf, barbarian, human, high elf

The following races con the aviak as Apprehensive:
wood elf, halfling

The following races con the aviak as Indifferent:
dwarf, iksar, erudite

The following races con the aviak as Threateningly: (I also conned Krak himself while assuming these illusions. As expected for a merchant, Krak conned Dubious)
ogre, troll

When I get a chance, I'll whip up some high elf illusion potions and try out that race as well.

Well I killed this birdie four times. I am level 30 and he conned white 3 times and blue once, so I assume the levels mentioned here are correct. I didn't realise he was a merchant and was very upset when he didn't give me XP. I actually reporrted this as a bug! Silly me!

I think this guy's lvl must be as low as lvl 28 because he conned yellow to my 26 druid.

The color codes are normally indiviually factored by your stats but I gotta agree. He's white to me at 28 and I tend to overcon these chickens (for my fighting methods)

TILT
Merchants don't give XP or loot. I killed him once thinking he was some named NPC and wanting to see what his sword was and he just poofed with no XP after dying. Likewise with the goblin merchants and banker in Runnyeye. Really, there's no reason to kill merchants at all and certainly not for experience.

Merchants do not give EXP. Try killing the gypsies in oasis. It's fun, but a waste of time. Do it only if you like pissing people off.

Krak does not like a Paladin human either. This is despite not having killed an Aviak ever! This goes to show you how being good does not necessarily pay off. LOL

I could not sell to him unless I used sneak and sold to him from behind him. Then, I was able to sell, but I'm sure the prices were low...

I am an Iksar and I have never had a problem selling to him face-to-face. My prices were always low, but I've always been indifferent to him, I've actually sold for other people. Hehe, Iksar selling for others, thought we had bad faction with everything.

Merchants are quite different from their faction. No merchant at all will KOS anyone, even if they have KOS faction with the merchants faction. Crow in Qeynos is circle of unseen hands faction, which scowls at me ready to attack, yet crow glowers at me dubiously! Merchants don't KOS or help their friends BECAUSE they don't give loot and many are much higher level than the main people in their faction are. You should not bother with merchants at all because there is no point at all for attacking one other than to be cruel. Being cruel isn't a good enough reason I think. Oh, and Wannabe Biggah, if you want him to sell to you, get a nice druid to cast shared wolf form on you. Then he will be around amiable AND your speed and attack will be increased. VERY GOOD. Thats my 2 copper pieces :)
Won't sell.
