Beal #5: Finding the Windsong Flute

You say, 'Hail, Beal the Minstrel'

Beal the Minstrel is humming to himself and smiles. 'Always a pleasure to see you again, Bonzz! No doubt the mysteries of the Windsong have compelled you as much as they compel me. Have the time to assist me again in searching for it? Perhaps you could [have another look] around Redfeather Isle?'

You say, 'have another look'

Beal the Minstrel #3

[Mon Jul 30 10:12:39 2007] You say, 'Hail, Beal the Minstrel'

[Mon Jul 30 10:12:39 2007] Beal the Minstrel is humming to himself and smiles. 'Always a pleasure to see you again, Tracila! No doubt the mysteries of the Windsong have compelled you as much as they compel me. Have the time to assist me again in searching for it? Perhaps you could [have another look] around Redfeather Isle?'

[Mon Jul 30 10:13:05 2007] You have been assigned the task 'The Windsong Compels You . . .'.

'Purchase tickets to Redfeather Isle and catch the boat.' 0/1 (Not sure if everyone in the group has to get a ticket since everyone got the update when one was purchased, but I got eveyone tickets just incase.)
'Find the large tower with the blue flame.' 0/1 (-4194.57, 1218.49, 374.82)
'Defeat the Stormscape Sea Callers defending Garuda.' 0/15
'Slay the Caller, he may have something important.' 0/1 (full name is 'Garuda the Sea Singer')
'Return to Beal with the lyric sheets, he will certainly want to look at these.' 0/1

Reward: 40 doubloons and faction.

Notes on Mission:
The Stormscape Sea Callers start to spawn just off the bottom of the ramp to 'Garuda the Sea Singer' once you get the 'Find the large tower with the blue flame.' update. They spawn fairly quickly and run up the ramp and stand on top of the named. I suggest clearing the trash and roamers around the bottom of the ramp before getting that update.

Unless you are super dps group and can get the spawns as they come, bring a split puller. The mobs are right on top of each other, so close you can't even tell how many there are.

To a level 75 the trash are light-blue/blue, the Stormscapes are blue, and 'Garuda the Sea Singer' is a yellow con. Named had light ramp no enrage. Everything seems to be a healer mob of some kind (thinking pally mobs since I saw a crappy pal heal and loh) and ran at low health. Did not notice any summoning, but it is possible they do.

I'm not sure how you are supposed to leave the instance since you can't get to any of the other islands and I saw no boat. If you drop the task you end up back at the dock. You could have the person that loots the final item drop task and then add them back when they are at the dock to make the final turn in.

I three boxed this with a pally, warrior, cleric. I pulled all the mobs with the pally and rooted one off to the side, popped horse and rode out of aggro range. The mobs pathed back and warrior pulled the rooted mob. The first 7-8 pulls were tough since there were so many mobs, but got easier the more that were gone.

I would rank all three of this NPC's missions as easy for an average pickup group. Decent way to get doubloons if you are working on the hand aug or want to get rank 1 spells.

They come in 5 waves of 3

I finally got this done... instead of trying to pull any at all, I let them all get up to the top of the blue flame tower

then used my bard to snare pull and fade them off

took a little time .. but got it done right

after Mystery of Aviak Island, Beal gives '' Finding a Way to Understand''

Objective Instructions
Speak to Johnny the Black Crow in The Buried Sea
Purchase tickets to Redfeather Isle and catch the boat in The Buried Sea
Kill the regrua seaskimmers - need to kill 10 in Redfeather Isle
Kill the pair of regrua guardians - need to kill 2 in Redfeather Isle
Defeat the Rgrua Chieftain - the boss in Redfeather Isle
Loot the Conch of Understanding - drops from the boss in Redfeather Isle
Deliver the Conch of Understanding to Johnny the Black Crow - in The Buried Sea

Brief summary of mission

The seaskimmers are on the far end of the island opposite of where you zone in. They are along the shoreline and run in and out of the water, and there are exactly 10 of them mixed in with other regura's. Pulling them isnt bad and can be pulled single. Since none of the mobs respawn, its wise to kill all the mobs on that shoreline as your going to need room to run around with the named and his guards. Now speaking of the named , he to spawns in the water just along that shoreline and will walk in and out of the water with the 2 guards you need to kill attached to him. We had a monk pulling and could not get the 3 of them apart so we had the wizzard in the group snare the 2 guards and kite them around while the rest killed the named. named doesnt seem to hit hard as a lvl 75 mage's earth pet tanked him. Named does summon and so do the guards on occasion. Hope this info helps a lil
