Special Events (FFXI)
Special events are usually held during popular Japanese, American, and European holidays. The events are sponsored by the M.H.M.U. (Mog House Management Union) and coordinated in-game by Moogles that appear in set locations in the three nations. Special events are sometimes used to creatively introduce a new aspect of the game such as Outpost Teleporting, which was introduced with an after Christmas event in 2003. The more popular events are usually brought back each year, offering the same special item rewards, though it is not unusual for a new year to bring a new item.
