Did this today with a decently well geared 75 Pally and a not as well geared 75 druid. Pally had around 1270 AC and 19K HP. Was able to druid paci the mobs in the room with him and pull him to the west wall. Kept reptile up on pally and occasional AA abilites (Spirit of Wood, Convocation of Spirits, Ward) and he only needed 4-5 heals throughout the 20 minute fight. Only damage I did with the druid was kept swarm of fireants up on the mob and DS/Wrath of Wild on pally. Pally did do a small amount of self healing as well. Ended the fight at around 75-80 mana on both characters.

With progression people doing these types of fights in era once again, and since most comments are years old, here's my recent experience with this guy:

70 Zerker - 900+ AAs, raid geared
70 Druid box - 1k AAs, group geared
70 Beastlord box - 300 AAs, group geared
70 Shaman box - 200 AAs, bazaar geared (bad as it gets)

Went to the west wall as others have said. Harmony on the other dragorns in case they would add. They never did. Zerker tanked. Beastlord spent most of the time on the ground because well, I was 4 boxing and didn't notice. Druid healed and really nothing else. Shaman was just there to throw hots when necessary. No slows landed. No other tricks used. I did use all my zerker discs just to speed things up. Never had any adds. Oh, and I did not have Reptile. It wasn't in the game yet (Phinny).

I hit sit stand and then I could move again wife tried and she was free. Wished I knew that before fight. Some how he sits your but down LOL. Grats getting to this point hope this helps your 99% done.

Okay first off, he is located in the same room as the DDA... he spawns with several terrified dragorns. Posistion yourself on the west wall and after a minute the dragorns will walk over to you and you can kill em off. Now for killing ol' stoney.. as another poster said, KEEP REPTILE ON THE TANK, this does help immensely. Pace yourselves, it is going to be a long fight. If you are not a tank or need to be in melee range, back off, unless you like eating wild rampage.

Just took him down with my 3 box set up of 72 druid, 72 berzerker, 75 wizard.. each having a merc (2 tanks and 1 healer) and then my wife played her 77 mage with another healer merc. We killed him before any respawn in the room, but it was a REALLY long fight. He is very, very resistant to fire.

Keep an eye out for repops

This can be done with 1 group easy provided:

You are efficient with initially dispatching room pops and engage soon after.
You have good dps in group - we had a ranger and a monk.
Reptile the tank. This made it easy for the tank to take a beating and hardly notice.
Have someone keep an eye out for repops and get them under control asap. Fortunately we had enough dps to kill before repops.

Just one grouped this mob, here are my findings:

- resistant to slow
- the AE comes every 30 seconds, does FD, stun and knock back
- mounts will vanish on FD
- levitate removes falling damage when tossed around by AE
- fight with 5 toons will take its time, so respawn will occur

my approach:
- levi all
- do a complete heal AFTER each FD
- fight on west side to avoid aggro from respawn
- fight close to stairs, so others can be out line of sight
- no pets unless u are willing to sacrifice them, they will die soon
- the terrified footsoldiers can be avoided by staying far away and the earthshaker will kill em.

result:
- a complete heal every 30 seconds is enough for a solid tank
- use 'skin of the reptile', this helps a lot
- with the mob close to stairs and toons on the stairs hiding, we often had no knockback. The FD and stun still hit.
- From pull till loot we needed 31 minutes.

thesis:
- you can duo that mob with tank + druid using 'skin of the reptile'!

Last night we tried this mob with FoE on (and horses/drogs) but it didn't have any affect on the AoE. We were still tossed and FD'd. FOE and mounts were gone as well.

Is there a certain place to stand/fight because we got tossed every which direction (ie not straight back). Can casters stand on the stairs or is the AOE range too big?

We wiped at 12%. It was the respawn that got us (ie lack of dps).

It's in the tunnels in the east of the zone by where the DDA spawns. You have to be in this spot of the epic to spawn it. And the wife and I boxed it and got it down right before the room respawned. Has a crap load of HPs.

Ran a raid for this then helped with a second raid on this.
First time we had a large group of people and he went down fast.
Second time, we had 11 people and he still went down fast.

The key to this fight is to let the tank regain aggro after the AE FD. One or two healers (druid and cleric), decent tank, and some wizzy or mage dps should be able to take him EASILY. Fire spells RARELY land, magic spells land sometimes, and I haven't had a cold spell resisted yet.

A fun fight
# Dec 31 2006 at 7:35 PM Rating: Decent
We had about 15 people along for this today, varying from low 60s to uber 75s. The AOE is resistable if your resists are maxxed (recommend a good bard in the MT group). It was a longer fight because of all of the up and down, but very fun. We all got tossed around quite a bit with the AOE :) Raid cleared to the room, then I moved up and trigger the mob. Pulled the adds, then charged the earthshaker. A few of the lower 60s died, but were rezzed during the fight without trouble. Having lev on definitely helped, too. Had 3 clerics and 3 druids in the raid, I think, so plenty of heals to go around. MT sk held aggro without too much trouble at 13k hps or so.
Easy fight
# Oct 27 2006 at 6:30 PM Rating: Decent
We got to the room with our druid being too close ( though she was just at the mouth of the tunnel) with the adds. The adds were light blue and easy to kill, the named is dark blue and tethered so we pulled the entire room and name popped back to spawn point. Once we cleared the room, Warrior ran in to aggro mob, the rest went in and killed it. Took us about 10 mins if that, but only took 1 group. Once warrior had good aggro, mob never attacked or summoned anyone else. No death and an easy fight. chest dropped a Ring of futility. 75 war, ranger, wiz, dru, sham, enchater. 20k tank with 3400ac max mob hit was for 223 =).

Mob is a summoned critter. Had a mage hit him for 32K using turn summoned AA. Too bad mine didn't hit for that too, would've made the fight go even faster.

took him out last night on bristlebane. we were 3 groups and to be honest i dont think it was three full groups. and no none of us there were uber by any means. avrg lvl was 67 according to the raid window. had a lvl 70 pally attempting to tank and a lvl 70 sk (me ) as back up. i can only speak for myself but i was at 10673 hp and 1765 ac. we had 4 clerics in the raid. paladin went down twice in the fight. so basically i was tanking it. did not hit me that hard seen a few hits in the 700 some range. the ae is annoying but we all had dmf or levitate on so not too bad. was a fun fight lasted a long time. i know i used my major resist veteren reward during it. harm touch got off on the mob for 9642. we had a few deaths but all in all we did not really use any stratedgy like counting to 4 and then standing and atttacking as this was mroe or less a pick up raid and everyone was jsut hitting willy nilly. after druid looted a chest spawned , it had a rng rougue bst etc. belt in it dont evan remember name it was nice but not for my class so not really intrested in it. no big time geared or vt geared people in this raid jsut avereage joes, i had 313 aa at the time of this fight and used every combat disc i had. maybe we got lucky or some of us are better than we thought?? who knows was just nice to see a fight through to completion and not die during the attempt. now if i coudl just talk em into doin gthat murkglider breeder...............

Trick for rogues

As a rogue, one of my biggest complaints about this guy was the FD AE messing up my good discs before they have a chance to run their full course. I discovered a neat little trick the other day, however, whereby a rogue can increase his overall dps against this mob.

When the FD hits you, you are cleared from the aggro list. BEFORE YOU STAND UP, use sneak/hide. Then, stand up, run over, and hit your Assassin's Strike / Kyv Strike, etc. disc, the one you only normally get to use once per fight. You can use it over and over and over again on this guy. Every time you get hit with FD you can use it. Guarantee that your backstab will hit, plus for more than usual damage every time you get hit with FD.

If anyone's killed him yet can you post info about the fight, how many people you had, any strategy that can be used. Thanks so much!

Took him down with a joint guild raid (with our raiding buddies) a few mins ago.

Raid size was about 6 groups.

Strategy was pretty simple. Buff up (maximize your MR and make sure all are Leved.)

For the fight, MA engaged furious to set up heal chain and build extra aggro and then it was a pretty standard fight from there.

He AE Ramps, so all melee must be MAX RANGE. When the raid is hit with his AoE, only the MA is to stand right away (and TURN ATTACK BACK ON!*). Everyone else count to 4 before standing. This is to allow the MA to regain aggro.

Max hit to me was 1250 (1.6k AC, CS2). Max hit to others was 1.3k (parsed the fight, so those are exact numbers).

Once you get going and get the groove on in the fight, it's really not too bad. It's quite fun too :) nothing like watching 30 or so people bounce off the walls every now and then.

*This is imperitive, I forgot to do this for half the fight and was stressing over my aggro (was bouncing all over). Once I realized it, things went super smoothly.

Just a FYI, but AC and CS have no effect on max hit. The only things that reduce max hit are Shielding (reduces base damage), Discs, and being a Warrior (5% of the amount over base damage, I think).

So from your figures, the 5% Warrior saving is 50hp, so max damage above base is 1000, and base must be 300. So this mob should hit 350 to 1300 on most, and 348 to 1250 on a Warrior.

Of course high AC and CS will mean you get hit for max less often.

Pick up raid of 5 full groups took him on last night. He hits HARD. Group was ranging in level from 63-70 and this guy owed us. He has an AE effect that throws you right out of the arena he's in and slams you into a wall. It also has a FD touch to it. So unless you stand back up, you're screwed. Max he hit ME for was 1300hp. Hit MA for 72k!! I STRONGLY suggest at least 50 people take him on. We only got him down to 78%. Died twice. Good luck.
RE: Tough fight
# Feb 25 2005 at 6:01 PM Rating: Decent
No, he really isnt that hard.

We did him with 25(we just killed the emporer a few days ago, so we are pre-VT geared). We killed the cracked earthshaker even after he was made harder(he used to not rampage). His AE has a knockback, so if everyone has Lev....then you're fine.

Yes, 1300 hp sounds right, 72k however....well yes its true, he does hit 72k, its out of context. Did you forget to mention he hit for 72k AFTER you wiped? When we first tried him, we didnt know that SoE had added rampage to the fight, so we went in assuming he wouldnt. Thats probably the main reason why we wiped the first time. During the fight, he hit for up to 1.4k. AFTER the fight, when the monk was invis and dragging corpses up the stairs, her invis dropped suddenly and he ran over and nailed her for 72k. We came back another day, and owned him good(with 25). This leads me to believe that he only hits for 72k if you have WIPED, but it shouldnt matter too much anyway, bc when we wiped, we didnt have enough time to recover and engage before he despawned.
