Produced by combining Tier 2 Armor Piece + Steam Core inside a Steam Core Embedder. (Take out any augmentations before doing a combine.)
A Steam Core Embedder can be purchased from Automated Vending Unit in Dragonscale Hills (located next to the Fortress Mechanotus cannon) if you have at least indifferent faction with Ak'Anon Strike Force V.
Steam Cores drop from various named mobs in Gyrospire Zeka, Meldrath's Majestic Mansion, S.H.I.P. Workshop, and The Steam Factory.
A Steam Core unusable by your class can be converted by combining an unusable Steam Core and the appropriate Core Gear Kit inside a Steam Core Re-gearing Kit (also purchased from Automated Vending Unit II).

- Silk: Ancient Velvet Armor
Tier 4 (MMM)
There are three ways of producing this armor.
- Combine Tier 2 (Steel) Armor Piece + Gyro Core inside a Gyro Core Embedder.
- Combine Tier 3 (Ancient) Armor Piece + Gyro Core inside a Gyro Core Embedder.
- Combine Un-Cored Template + Gyro Core inside a Gyro Core Embedder.
(Take out any augmentations before doing a combine.)

The Prismaridescent Essence Grafter can be purchased from Aring, Jashy, Tonas, or Vesiss once you have at least (ally?) faction with Crusaders of Veeshan.

Why no "Tier 1"?
The only "Tier 1" zone in Secrets of Faydwer is Dragonscale Hills. There is no armor to be found in the zone. The first armor becomes attainable in Tier 2 zones, thus we begin with "Tier 2".
