This post is coming a little late, but I just learned about this tragedy and thought I would share the news of this loss to the Everquest Community and to the Guild Harbingers of Garmonbozia. On January 7th, 2002, 16 year old Camellia, who played Llise on the Cazic Thule server, was shot and killed by her father while she was playing Everquest. Apparantly her father had been molesting her for more than 6 years and had been convicted of it, but despite that conviction, she had not been removed from her home. It seems that on that night he came home, quarrelled with her mother and finally shot the mother, young Camellia and himself. Her friends in the game were concerned when she suddenly stopped responding to them, and it turns out their fears were tragically justified. All I can say is, having lost a loved one myself late last year, my heart goes out to the family and friends of Camellia. Harbingers of Garmonbozia has a tribute page up at this link.
