EQ Update #45

A Short Update

New Comments

Screenshot

Under the home tab you'll see some good options:

"News Archive", "Contact Us", "New Comments" and "Zam tools".

-News Archive does exactly what it says.

-contact us boots you to the new Zam site

-New Comments is the one I wanted to highlight as it is a great way of keeping up with what is new on the site. It's also where most players are posting questions/asking for help (rather than the general forum that is far more likely to be seen in a timely fashion). You'll also see the massive slew of updates Gidono has done lately.

-Zam tools is kind of neat... maybe useful to guild website people or those with EQ based sites that don't want to run a full database themselves.

And a little site update:

Updated Items: Scuffed Journeyman's Pocketed RucksackCrushbone-Patch Doll

Updated Quests: White Dragonscale Cloak

Bestiary Updates: Xerkizh The CreatorEmperor Crush

Not so easy to submit new content to Zam

I wish you would simplify submitting information to you. If you click "contact us" Everquest isn't even listed as one of your featured sites. As a matter of fact it's not listed at all. Nowhere does it say "Submit new content". Why not simply have a link to do so on the front page?

I updated the quest "An epic Request (Rogue)" with the information for the new achievement "An epic Retelling (Rogue)" because there was nowhere else to submit the information and there was no mention the quest had been updated on the front page.

So please tell us how do we submit new content to Zam?

renrita, I'll take a look through your post and update what I can.

In this "volunteer admn age" you have to submit new info in the most-connected existing thread you can find. So putting "An epic Retelling (Rogue)" where you did makes sense. If it isn't tied to any exiting NPC or item then the zone is the best spot to post it. There's also the general EQ forum.

When Lucy (the item collector) is running it is possible for many, many site updates to occur without them making a front page posting. The volunteer admn team looks to be functioning in a manner that will reduce that... but until we get Lucy back it is hard to say. Front page updates are nice, but in truth user comments posted in threads is the heart of what is most useful. I have found literally hundreds of "missed updates" going back to 2002 when doing a different update. We put them in when we see them.

From a history and user of Allakhazam point of view it would be nice if this was one of the featured sites. We've asked, (in some different ways). The new Zam is a different thing, if they end up recognizing EQ more great... if not at least they are leaving this site up.
