Krono Sale and Frostfell Puppies?

News From the EQ Forums:

For the first time, we’re putting the most popular pack of Krono – the 5 Krono pack – on sale! Beginning at 12:00AM PST on Friday, December 11 through 11:59PM PST on Sunday, December 13, you’ll be able to purchase the bundle of 5 Krono for only $69.99 USD*.

Currently available in EverQuest and EverQuest II, Krono are in-game objects that can be redeemed for 30 days of membership time. They may be purchased from the Daybreak marketplace for real money only, or from other players via the broker or private trades for in-game currency.

The Krono sale will be happening via the in-game marketplaces in EverQuest and EverQuest II, and on the web. For questions about Krono, visit the FAQ on either www.everquest.com/krono or www.everquest2.com/krono.

And......

Dust off your stocking caps, shine up your sleighs, and tighten the bows on your presents – Frostfell has returned! It’s the most beloved of the seasonal events in Norrath, and it’s back – once again – to warm your hearts and spirits right into the New Year!

You may have already noticed the Frostfell celebrations that began on Thursday, December 3, 2015. We’ve got an array of different events that will run until 11:00PM PST on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Here’s what’s planned for the holiday season

Quests, Quests, Quests!

The first phase of the Frostfell celebration began this year on December 3 and will run until 11:00PM PST on December 15, 2015. Visit the Frostfell Goblin to begin the “Upgrading Stockings” quest, and continue on to complete other returning favorite holiday quests for special Frostfell-themed items. The quests that will be available during the first phase are:

  • Frostfell - Searching for Clues (#1)
  • Frostfell - Saving Santug (#2)
  • Search for Bram Bandyboot
  • Rescue Hailie Biggeyes
  • The Freedom of Kanf Shadowhands
  • The Savior of Gemmi Goodkin
  • Misplaced Wishes
  • The Frostclaw Lair
  • Gathering Holiday Cheer
  • Operation: Jolliness

The next phase of our Frostfell celebration will begin at midnight December 16th and run until 11:00pm PST on December 30th, 2015. During this time, you’ll be able to continue spreading holiday cheer and complete these quests:

  • Frostfell - Santug's List (#3)
  • Frostfell - A Gift for Tinam (#4)
  • Frostfell - Fishing for a Feast (#5)
  • Frostfell - Baking for a Feast (#6)
  • Frostfell - Fireworks (#7, low, mid, and high-level)

This celebration is too big to be contained in one location, so look for your favorite holiday NPCs in different areas of Norrath to continue the party! The remaining part of the Frostfell celebration will run from midnight December 31st until 11:00pm PST on January 7th, 2016.

Santug Claugg

What do you know about ogres who dress in red armor before handing out goodies to all of the good little adventures in Norrath?

Santug Claugg will only be giving out gifts from Thursday, December 24 through Saturday, December 26, 2015. Don’t miss him this year!

New Marketplace Additions!

Check out the Marketplace for new and returning Frostfell-themed items beginning December 9th. These items are only available until 11:00PM PST on Sunday, January 31, 2016, so don’t delay!

Also, the elves (and ogres and dwarves…) have been busy at work in Player Studio! New Frostfell-themed goodies crafted by talented artists in the EverQuest community will also be coming to the Marketplace on December 9th. Unlike the other holiday items, these will remain available for purchase long after the holiday decorations have been packed away in anticipation of next year’s celebration.

And a Happy New Year!
Pizmip Nobbletod, Kilina Odenburg. and M.C. Tinkerton will be returning this year. Check back later for these NPCs as they start ringing in the New Year, with their events that begin in Norrath on Saturday, December 26, 2015!

Are you interested in joining the fun? The celebrations have already begun! Be on the lookout for holiday NPCs throughout Norrath.

Santug Claugg has been watching, so it’s time to do some last-minute good deeds in hopes of making the Nice list! Happy Frostfell, Norrathians!

i'm quite unimpressed with daybreak. same old song as SOE. how about fixing the launcher? sometimes i can't even get it to connect, and i have to re-run it. other times it seems to struggle connecting, says it can't connect but then re-routes itself. fix the basics (running the game, the game itself) before puppies, please

Do I care that they put it into the game? No.
Does it mean they have abandoned developing content, fixing things, etc.? No... there is probably 1 person in charge of the marketplace item creation "division" of EQ. That person probably has nothing to do with any of the other issues.

DirtBaG Has no clues on marketing. They followed in the same footsteps as SoE which are all the same....They haven't even change their forum page. They don't know how to price...and they get rid of items with no rhyme or reason. Not like the pixels have a shelf life. IMO everything sold on Marketplace should have the opportunity to be earned through Raids, Task or what ever. But as marketing goes...this season they gave away free exp potions...great except when I saw this and claimed it, I did it on my level one bazaar trader.....should of been at least heirloom. One of the Reasons, and I have written a ton of post on the subject, why population is down is because of marketing or lack of.

UnholyChaz, Snailish, and Deadlaughb I echo your sentiments.

I don't give a "Freeport Rat's ***" about new ornamentations, holiday quests, or TBM, when the actual release of the expansion flagship MMO, was shrunk to half the size of the previous expansion, rushed thru what was called beta, ignoring player feedback, and is still broken.

If you go thru the everquest boards, there is thread after thread detailing the broken content, with the most truthfully direct comments censured by DBG. Instead of fixing broken content, unpopular nurfing patches are introduced to address imaginary problems, further breaking the game aggravating the player base.

Everquest is a fantasy MMO, not Ken and Barbie parlor. Everquest is a fantasy MMO, not a collectable card game, Everquest is a Fantasy MMO, not a Benie Babie / Cabbage Patch doll like collectable.

Get your collective heads out of the Freeport Rat's ***, and focus on what the client base wants.

only 1 click?

What worries me is the dog in a crate seems to have only 1 click allowed... So Im certainly less inclined to buy one
Shiny baubles instead if fixes.

Thank GOD they added puppies and new armor visuals instead of fixing what's broke. Like range and charm that are still unusable because they can't bother to add the right augments to the game. Tasks/missions that can't be finished because a swarm of 8 unmezzable, unrootable, unpuntable mobs attack you. And when you zone back in they instantly swarm you again at the zone in, it becomes like a death loop. But hey, we can buy puppies!
"Hi, we're from DBG, we can't be bothered to fix our mistakes but LOOK, Here's something shiny to distract you"
Is it any wonder they're getting the reputation of "Dey Break Games"

Will I ever buy a dog in a crate? Highly unlikely.

Do I care that they put it into the game? No.

Does it mean they have abandoned developing content, fixing things, etc.? No... there is probably 1 person in charge of the marketplace item creation "division" of EQ. That person probably has nothing to do with any of the other issues. That person generates income directly to the game (I have seen a lot of people with the cats...) so they indirectly are paying for the other devs that do the stuff that doesn't directly pay for itself.

Could the dev team be larger? Yes.

Could they communicate what they are working on fixing and improving better? Yes.

Should beta for TBM been longer? Clearly a yes.

It's kind of like the rage-arguments against Dev time going into the various progression servers. There would be zero progression servers if they weren't a money maker. Being at round 4.0 of this progression thing, the dev tweaks are mostly paid for by the previous rounds. Financial stability is the best bet for new content on live servers.

Cats in a bag and dogs in a box are all that holly can contribute. Well maybe she did the monkeys in the broken expansion too. What a joke of a manger she is. But she even said that she does not care about content and game play. She is all about the cuteness. Maybe she should go work for playhouse barbie or the sims.

Of course a guildie did ask for a dog that eats the cats but holly must have just heard that people just want dogs to go with the cats.

And did anybody ask for a true box server. I think people wanted a server with NO boxes. Just another half-*** effort by dbg. It's almost as if they are trying to see how poor of a job they can do while sheeple still give them money. Glad I am down to my last 40 days of paying for my account.
Puppies instead of content
# Dec 11 2015 at 7:28 PM Rating: Decent
Right! Because developer resources are so rare, we get puppies instead of bug fixes for Christmas. I'd hate to believe that being swarmed by 8 unmezzable, un-puntable, un-rootable mobs at once was done by DESIGN!

Merry effin Frostfell. Bite me, DBG.
