The Night Before Luclin

This was sent to me and I thought it worth posting for everyone to read: 'Twas the night before Luclin, when all through the house Not a modem was stirring, not even my mouse. The Parkinson's posters were hung with care, With hopes that the Vah Shir soon would be here. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While gamers were filled with impending dreads. And Ma in her T-shirt and I in my cap, Had just settled down for an all night camp. When out of the newsgroup there arose such a chatter, I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter. Away to the computer I flew like a flash, Tore open the tower box and coughed up the cash. The ram on the board was to far below To give the game its much needed get go. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a leigon of trolls with no butt scratching rear. With a video driver, not so lively and slick, I knew in a moment I must fix it quick. More rapid than griffins the horses they came, And we Woot, and we shouted, and called them by name. "Now, VALMAR! now, VILLY! now, KANIS and WINK! On, KODY! on KELBA! on, CELEUS too many to thinkā€¦ To the top of the mountain! to the top of the wall! Now charge away! charge away! charge away all!" And then, I heard music, upon the roof The prancing and pawing of each mighty hoof. As I drew my sword, and was turning around, Down the chimney a Bard came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his paws were all tarnished with ashes and soot. A bundle of PHAT LEWTZ he had flung on his back, And he looked like a vendor just opening his pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! His nose was all wet! There was something about him I couldn't quite get. And his skin was as white as the fresh morning snow. He pulled out a flute and did give it a blow. With a blow of his flute he held tight in his teeth, The notes did encircled his head like a wreath. He had a firece face and a furry round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. The Halfling was chubby and plump, sitting aside a Wood Elf. And I laughed when I spied him, in spite of myself. A Wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had something to dread. We spoke not a word, but went straight to our work, We worked on our tailoring; and felt like a jerk, A newbie did pass me and gave me a poke. He asked me for my armor, I thought it a joke. I sprang on my horse, after giving a whistle, And away I flew with a shield of the thistle. All heard me exclaim, ere I rode out of sight, "HAPPY Hunting TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-FIGHT."
