S. Korea Given D3 Refunds; New Accts. Limited
Not a good week for Bliz.
Not a good week for Blizzard, is it? First laws roll out restricting trade of digital items and use of bots, now not only is Blizzard issuing refunds to angry Korean gamers, but also the massive abuse of the game has necessitated the use of limiting new D3 accounts to Starter, up until the server authenticates it. The time taken can be "up to 72 hours", but Blizzard assures people it's "often much quicker than that." A bit extreme? Maybe. I'd even bet that, with gamers who care only about single player, it's pretty absurd. But given the sheer volume of abuse, I don't blame Blizzard for protecting their assets, especially since it's long after the release date.
