Patch Notes for May 21, 2009

Here is the patch message from this morning's patch:

*** Highlights ***

- A new window has been implemented that appears when you log in to the game. It is designed as a portal to display information pertinent to your character and the EQ community as a whole. This screen will be updated regularly with EverQuest information.
- The Luminescent and Incandescent Culling Vortexes available from Zebuxoruk in The Void can now transform a higher-level Luminessence or Incandessence into a lower-level version with the addition of one chronobine. They retain their prior use in removing essences from armor as well.

Just for the record. I small bit of information that SOE seemed to forget to mention, which would have saved alot of players alot of wasted time to figure out:

You need VOID F to be able to purchase the culling vortex from Zeb to convert an essence to a lower level one. Gee Thanks...grin.

Hate it.

It should only update when there is something new to display, not the same stuff every day. Let us disable it.

One thing you can do is resize the window so that you can barely see it, then you can just close it instead of it blocking the entire screen.
hate it

Everyone i've spoken to says it sucks. it's one more thing to close. adds time to the log in. In general, they've really added more and more time to what it takes to click on the icon and actually play, what with, log in, pass the info window, select your server, select your character, close this window now too. Blah, i liked it before when it was the old way. I enter my info and hit quick server, logs right in to the toon select.
Disable it?

Disable it?

Just logged in after my 14th crash and it came up with a message in red telling me there was a problem with the window last time I tried to log in (duh) it says it has been disabled but I can enable it again through the EQ menu.

So I guess look there.

I've crashed a total of 13 times while switching from toon to toon this morning. Compare that to never in the last 6 months and it's definately the new addition causing it.
Opt out?

I for one hate this new window. It slows down the log in process and is generally annoying.

It's very unlike Sony not to implement an 'opt out' check box somewhere but for all my searching I have not been able to find one.
