New LoY Tool: Armor Dyes

With the latest addition of lore to the main Legacy of Ykeshka page, there is a new tool! Are you a mismatched, rag-tag warrior who has a different color piece of armor for every slot? Well worry no more! You can now dye your armor all the same color without having to pay an alchemist an outrageous fee for something trivial, as well as put your hard earned equipment in danger. Here's the post from the LoY site:
The Legacy of Ykesha™ introduces a new form of armor dye to EverQuest. Unlike the old armor dyes that only worked when combining certain ingredients with certain pieces of armor, the new system will allow players to dye any piece of armor that is visible in a certain location. (These windows and the function of this feature may change.) Players will be able to decide what color they want any of their visible locations to be and set a 'tint' of that color on that location. The tint is applied to the location, not to the specific item in that location. Each change will require the use of a magical component that is expended when the tint is saved. Clicking on the Body Tint for any of these locations will bring up the color chooser window. Players can choose any of the pre-defined colors, or enter any valid number for each of the color values (Red, Green and Blue) to make any custom tint they desire. Once this tint is saved, any item placed in the dyed location will take on that color. This is a tint, though, not a change to the basic texture of the armor. It is not possible to remove colors inherent to the armor, so some armor pieces will tint differently than others. We've created a few pictures to show you the kind of variety that players will be able to create using this Legacy of Ykesha feature.

Now, you'll only be mismatched if you want to... and then it'd be in-style, right? -Kenti

I will never understand why ppl post chit that doesn't even touch on the most basic knowledge to fully understand something. HOW DO YOU USE PRISMATIC DYES FOR THE SLOTS? Do you right click the slot when nothing is in there or do you left click it. OR is there a special window to tint armor and what command opens it, omg.

A Vial of Prismatic Dye

Ø Dye Vial
o Unfired Vial – (Sold, 11p)
o High Quality Firing Sheet – (Sold, 3s)
o Combine in Kiln

Ø Prismatic Dye
o Glaze Lacquer – (Sold, 9p)
o Prism Shard – (Sold, 11p)
o Combine in Brew Barrel

Ø Combine in Brew Barrel

Each Armor Slot you will dye will require 1 Vial of Prismatic Dye.

Tinting will dye the Armor Slot, not the specific Armor, so if you change armor, the color remains.

You can change colors anytime you want by simply applying a new tint, providing you have the dye.
WTF?

i have heard that the reagents that you are needing are called "vial of prismatic dye". i have also heard these items are made through a combination of brewing and pottery skills. i have yet to find the ingredients for these....wish i could get a lil help there. anyway, that's what i hear. have yet to find out if this is true.

I think the interface as described is poor in even the most basic features. ( I am glad they made it, but it's future is..)
If they wanted to increase the peace and grp. guild management, why give such an easy way for the i.e. po'ed new officer who infiltrates guild a way to simply "click mouse" to eliminate people from guild.
I guess I don't really know wtf i'm talking about, but it seems e.q. made an all to easy character .... Didn't it used to be 2 or more officers or the g.m. to disband a player?
It's been a long time since playing e.q.
I suppose I have to obtain more info being i'm a ' relic ' . safe travels
GOOD!
