Do this and I will reward you with a pair of crafted boots.'

Sapphires may be purchased from several merchants. The Goblin Frost Totem drops from the goblin patriarch in Permafrost Keep.

We are always in need of more optic nerves for our armor. Bring me a handful of optic nerves and a [sapphire], and I will give you a crafted bracer for your trouble.'

Sapphires may be purchased from several merchants. A Bunch of Optic Nerves drops from Evil Eyes in the Gorge of King Xorbb and other newer zones.

If you bring me werewolf talons and 3 [rubies], I will give you a breastplate, the likes of which you have never before seen.'

You say, 'What gauntlets?'

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Crafted gauntlets - the mark of a distinguished warrior. I have a personal grudge to settle with those twice-cursed aviaks. They have been raiding our merchant convoys for the last few weeks, causing mischief to no end. Bring me an aviak charm from an avocet. I am sure I will not need to tell you how to get it. An aviak charm and two [star rubies], and I will reward you with crafted gauntlets.'

Star rubies may be purchased from several merchants. The Aviak Charm drops from Aviak Avocets who can be found roaming all over the southern half of South Karana.

Shakrn Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'

Return this circlet to me and gift me with two [star rubies], and I will reward you with crafted greaves.'

You say, 'What circlet?'

You say, 'What Rune of Dwarves?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'The Rune of Dwarves once rested in the heart of the city of Kaladim. Years ago, the goblins of Clan Runnyeye stole it from the dwarves. No one I have ever spoken to knows how it was broken. It is not hard to guess, however, why the evil eyes now hold them.'

You say, 'A fire emerald?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'I need a fire emerald for a piece of jewelry my brother and I are creating.'

Fire Emeralds may be purchased from several merchants. The Rune of Dwarves is broken into three pieces (Top, Middle and Bottom) and drops from Evil Eye Prisoners in Clan Runnyeye.

Lord Grimrot's Love (Unsolved): You say, 'Who is Arlena?'

Lord Grimrot says 'My beloved Arlena is my most perfect creation. A bit of flesh here, a bit of bone there and I created her. She left my arms while I was away. Find her and stop her. Return her bones to me so that I may restore her. She has no doubt returned to where I first met.. most.. of her, [Mistmoore Castle]!!'

You say, 'What about Mistmoore Castle?'

Lord Grimrot says 'It stands on the continent of Faydwer. That is all you need to know.'

This quest no longer results in the Electrum-Bladed Wakizashi. I am not sure what if anything you get for this. Lord Grimlot tells you about his poor, misguided beloved Arlena, who has run away from him to Mistmoore castle. Being the sentimental type, he wants you to track down the lass, kill her and return her either the lute of the gypsy or her bones.

This is just a placeholder as we have almost no information about this quest. We need additional zones; names, /loc, levels, faction hits, and fight info for all quest mobs; quest items; faction hits if any; list of quest rewards; any other missing information.
Metal Music (Unsolved): You say, 'hail Vhalen Nostrolo'. Vhalen Nostrolo says 'Nice to meet you. Do not the plains of Karana whistle with life. This land is truly blessed by the gods. Would you like to hear a tune or do you pass? You say, 'I would like to hear a tune.' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'Inside this heart I am trapped with the sight beautiful colors, all memories of your love They attack me with fullmight . You left me here in this garden of grey Never to see the true colors of the happiness of day Here in my heart I sit and I cry You have left me alone and my colors have all died . What do you think? Is it a happy tune or a sad tune?

You say, 'A sad tune, I think.' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'It takes a broken heart to truly appreciate that tune. I am glad you enjoyed it. My dear Metala left me one year ago. The wound has healed, but the scar lives on. I am presently trying to complete a New Composition. Maybe that will turn me around. You say, 'Where is Metala?' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'My dear sweet Metala Highflit. She was a bard I trained and fell in love with. We were perfect together. We composed many love ballads during those years. I just love the way she used to brush the hair away from her face and to see her in the moonlight brought daylight to my soul . We had such times ! I remember once we had dinner at the lion's Mane and we ordered a burrow pie for desert and she got some whipped cream on her nose ! Oh it was so cute.. Am I boring you or should I tell you where it went wrong?

You say, 'Tell me where it went wrong.' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'It was like that for years and then it all just ended. She began to hang around some man called Garuc Anehm. She started attending evening functions. She said it was choir practice for the Temple of Life. Do you want to know what I found out or am I boring you?

You say, 'What did you find out?' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'Feeling neglected, I also went to join the choir. To my shock I learned from High Priestess Jahnda that Metala never was in the choir. When I mentioned that fellow Garuc's name she gave me a dirty look and could talk no further. Must be boring you. You don't want to hear the end.

You say, 'I want to hear the end.' Vhalen Nostrolo says 'I went home to confront Metala. All I found was an empty house and a note. 'Sorry to leave. Thank you for all you have taught me. My new friends have showed me new paths of pain. My music shall sing for a new generation of bard. Goodbye.' I never saw her again. What ever she has started is twisted and contorted. It is not the music of the soul. She must surely be stopped before it is too late. Please go. I do not feel like talking any further of this.

I am not sure where you find Metala, or where this goes, if anywhere (it might just be a statement against Heavy Metal Music by the writer). However, I have been told, but cannot confirm, that Metala has been spotted in Mistmoore.
Revenge on Farsoth (Incomplete): "a gnollish zealot" may be found at +2460, +695, near the bridge in South Karana.

You say, 'Hail, a gnollish zealot'

a gnollish zealot says 'Not too long ago, a more powerful clan of gnolls known as the Verishe Mal did overthrow the long-established Lair of the Splitpaw. Under the leadership of the great necromancer, [Ishva Mal] these gnolls thrived. And if you're interested in a story of revenge, I can tell you how the centaurs and aviaks wronged [my kind] and our plan for action.'

You say, 'The Ishva Mal?'

a gnollish zealot says 'The Ishva Mal's power was absolute until he was overthrown by a caste of wizards within the lair during an unexpected uprising. Unfortunately for us all, the Ishva Mal had a son named [Farsoth].'

You say, 'Your kind?'

a gnollish zealot says 'My brothers and sisters have realized a misfortune that befell them during the chaos when Brell's minions broke through to our home. The aviaks and centaurs of the region took [advantage] of our plight and stole many of our riches while we were preoccupied.'

You say, 'Farsoth?'

a gnollish zealot says 'Farsoth Mal sulked under his father's leadership for years, turning instead to elemental and magical summoning as opposed to following in his father's necromantic footsteps. When his father lost power, Farsoth sought to summon forth beings from the planes in order to [overthrow] the council that had so embarrassed him.'

You say, 'Overthrow?'

a gnollish zealot says 'Unfortunately, with no mentor to teach him, much of Farsoth's knowledge was gained by trial and error, and planar summoning is a tricky business. Instead of a great summoning to aid him in battle, Farsoth ripped a hole into this plane that crossed over many plains, and the inhabitants of those planes quickly overran us. That [coward]!'

You say, 'The coward!'

a gnollish zealot says 'Yes, Farsoth is not only a coward, but a murderer! Instead of warning his people of what he had done, he fled deep into the lair and hid while his people fled or were slaughtered. He is still there today, while several of our kin remain imprisoned in the lair. Are you [brave] enough to do what he could not?'

You say, 'I'm brave enough'

a gnollish zealot says 'I can help you see and become one of us for a short while, if your bravery is true. [Venture] into our lair and free the survivors, and don't let Farsoth escape alive!'

You have been assigned the task 'Revenge on Farsoth'.

Choose from templates: 70th level Gnoll Brute, Mage, Cleric, and Enchanter are options.

The Unkempt Druids (Unsolved): Hail the hermit inside the hut in the southern part of South Karana. He will give you a quest to kill Linaya Sowlin in Western Karana. She drops "a human heart". Give this heart to the Hermit and he will give you the flute and/or the page needed for the Winds of Karana quest below. He also says our business is done, unless you are interested in joining the unkempt druids. If you tell him you wish to become an Unkempt Druid, or you wish to join the Unkempt Druids, he will say, "Excellent! Wait here, Master Jale Phlintoes will be here shortly".

Jale Phlintoes spawns nearby. You can track him down. What happens from here is not known.

Jale Phlintoes is the founder and leader of the Unkempt Druids (some background is available from Geneal Woodone in Surefall Glades by asking him "Who is Jale Phlintoes?" He mentions a "high bounty as a reward" for his head.

Jale is a druid guildmaster, and highly resistant to magical attacks. Twice he's been reported killed, but no head has dropped.
