Quests for Muramite Proving Grounds

The Mastery of Adaptation (Raid) (Normal): This is a raid trial.

Find the Projection of Realms in the eastern part of the Muramite Proving Grounds.

You say, 'Hail, Projection of Realms'

Projection of Realms says, 'Halt, _____, and hear my words. Your background and your status are of no consequence. All are welcome to participate in the trials to prove their worth, or die trying. Whosoever approaches me has adressed the embodiment of Realms, keeper of the trials of Ingenuity and Adaptation. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. Kill a shapeshifting mob, which appears randomly as either (all main mobs lvl 73+, all sidekicks under 70)

"Construct of Pain"

"Construct of Fire" (AE Gaze of the Pyrilen, comes with a "a lick of flame")

"Construct of Ice" (AE Breath of the Gelidran, comes with a "a mote of frost")

"Construct of Brutality" (AE Rampage)

"Construct of Power" (comes with "a diminutive construct")

Upon successful completion, a Shell of the Master spawns with some loot for the raid.

Whosoever approaches me has adressed the embodiment of power, keeper of the trials of Destruction and Corruption. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. Projection of Power says "Prepare yourself for the greatest challenge of all. The Mastery of Corruption will test your battle prowess as well as your strength of character. Can you see through corruption and rout it out, or are you corrupt yourself ? The spoils of war include the chance to rewrite history. The victor will decide who was right and who was wrong, but in the end - do such things ever matter?'

Inside you see Huhn-Abram's Corpse on the platform with several NPCs lying around him.

Pick any of those NPCs and hail her/him...

You say, 'Hail, [Name of NPC]'

[Name of NPC] says, 'Hail to you as well, _____, but what exactly are you doing here ? I'm sorry, but as you can see, you've arrived too late. Moments ago we defeated Huhn-Abram the Corrupted and we're currently regrouping and resurrecting our fallen members. Please respect our control of this area and leave at once. I have to admit your presence here is making me a bit nervous. We don't want any trouble.' They stare at you fearfully, '"So, are you going to leave us in peace, or did you come [expecting a fight]?'

[Name of NPC] says 'I should have known the trial of corruption wouldn't be so easy. Bring it on!'

The trial has begun. You cannot bring additional people into your expedition at this time.

Three waves of NPCs will spawn (6, 12, 18) which act much like real players and come in eight different classes. All NPCs are level 70. Kill them and collect your reward:

Shell of the Corrupted spawns afterward with a number of different loot possibilities.

Projection of Power says 'Every test has its rules and these trials are no exception. The following guidelines must be followed to the letter, or else you stand to forfeit or perish. You are allowed no more than six participants in the battle. Once the trial has begun, you must remain in the combat area. Violators of this rule will be warned and then destroyed. Your progress will be carefully monitored. If you take too long, you will fail. These are the rules and they are not negotiable.'

You say, 'Tell me about the Destruction trial.'

Projection of Power says 'To conquer worlds requires the capability to annihilate vast areas. How much devastation can you inflict in as short a time as possible? Can you cut a swathe in the ranks of your enemy and destroy them with impunity? If you have this ability, now is the opportunity to prove your worth!'

Master of Destruction says 'This is the Mastery of Destruction trial. You must demonstrate your ability to annihilate your enemies, destroying as many opponents as possible within a given time frame. Are you ready to [begin]?'

You stop sneaking.

The trial has begun. You cannot bring any additional people into your expedition at this time.

This trial is straightforward. It requires massive DPS. You must kill 20 mobs (names?), spawning 1-3 at a time, within 15 minutes. Once you've accomplished that, the Master of Destruction will become targettable. Don't waste too much time waiting to pull him, because he gains strength as time goes by. Drop the Master in order to win.

A Shell of the Master will spawn with the loot.

Whosoever approaches me has addressed the embodiment of Arcana, keeper of the trials of Efficiency and Specialization. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. You say, 'Small-scale.'

Projection of Arcana says 'While it can be admirable to defeat the opposition while in prime condition, a more accurate test of one's mettle is to tackle an opponent while fatigued and weary - yet still walk away victorious. If you have this ability, now is the opportunity to prove your worth!'

On zoning into the trial, you will find the Master of Efficiency standing on the central podium..

Master of Efficiency says 'This is the Mastery of Efficiency trial. You must demonstrate your ability to function under less than perfect conditions, battling with limited resources. Are you ready to [begin]?'

You say, 'begin'

The trial has begun. You cannot bring any additional people into your expedition at this time.

Master of Efficiency says 'Very well! Let the battle commence!'

All mobs in this trial are fully slowable.

This trial is similar to the Trial of Execution in the Plane of Justice. You must survive four waves of 3-4 mobs, and kill them in sufficient time (you have four minutes per wave). The mobs involved are a Muramite soldier (mezzable), an elite Muramite soldier (unmezzable), and "Muramite Commander" (unmezzable).

Note: Every five minutes, the unresistable AE Test of Efficiency goes off.

When the final wave's four minute timer runs out (and assuming you've actually survived), the Enforcer of Efficiency spawns and attacks. Kill him to win the trial. A Shell of the Master spawns with the loot.

Find the Projection of Body in the southwestern part of the Muramite Proving Grounds.

Projection of Body says, 'Halt, _____, and hear my words. Your background and your status are of no consequence. All are welcome to participate in the trials to prove their worth, or die trying. Whosoever approaches me has adressed the embodiment of body, keeper of the trials of Weaponry and Endurance. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. Projection of Body says, "In a battle of attrition, an extended engagement, you must have the endurance to outlast your opposition. When the defense is inpenetrable, your tenacity is more important than your offensive prowess. If you have this ability, now is the oppurtunity to prove your worth.'

Zellucheraz the Ancient says, 'This is the Mastery of Endurance trial. You must survive an endless onslaught of enemies for as long as necessary. Are you ready to [begin]?'

Zellucheraz the Ancient says, 'Very well ! Let the battle commence !'

The trial has begun. You cannot bring additional people into your expedition at this time.

As you enter the room, you see two huge dragorn on the central platform. Hail Zellucheraz the Ancient or Ansdaicher the Ancient to start the fight. Once they are down, the trial is won. To make it a little harder, multiple adds will spawn during the encounter. Among them, a frantic discordling, a dragorn antagonist, a dragorn champion, a dragorn defender and a muramite sentinel (all blue to 70).

Shell of the Ancients spawns afterward with a number of different loot possibilities.

Upon completion, you will also receive a Mastery of Body Rune, one of six pieces needed for Citadel of Anguish access.

Projection of Mind says 'Fear is power. An opponent whose resolve has been broken has already been defeated. You must learn to invoke terror in the hearts of your enemies and destroy them as they cower in weakness. If you have this ability, now is the opportunity to prove your worth!'

Proving Grounds: The Mastery of Fear is now available to you.

The trial has begun. You cannot bring any additional people into your expedition at this time.

To pass the Mastery of Fear, you need to survive the waves of mobs (there is a pre-determined amount of waves needed to be killed in order to win). There is no boss in this trial, as the Master only stands and watches. Tell him "begin" to start the trial.

Mobs with "fearless" in their name must be killed regularly through nuking and melee. If a mob does not have "fearless" in its name, use your highest level Fear spell possible and Fear them away. These mobs hit extraordinarily hard, so you don't want them wailing away on your group.

Mobs come in fours (wolf - elemental - skeleton - dragorn) and spawn individually depending on how long you take to kill them.

Upon successful completion of the trial, the Shell of the Master will spawn with your rewards.

Whosoever approaches me has adressed the embodiment of tactics, keeper of the trials of Subversion and Foresight. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. Projection of Tactics says, 'Perception and split-second reactions are not something you can acquire in training. It's a gift learned on the battlefield, and the penalty for being a slow learner is a quick and decisive death. Can you see the arrow as it sails towards your heart and sidestep out of the way? As you enter the room, you see six Dragorns on the smaller platforms (Dragorn Annihilator, Adept, Flamecaster, Spellscribe, Incinerator, Acolyte, all lvl 70). Once all six are down, you win. Meanwhile you get orders to do stuff. If you don't obey you will get punished by the Kyv Sureshots.

Projection of Mind says, 'Anger is a tool if you wield it correctly. Invoking hatred in your enemies will provoke them into predictable and controllable behaviour. Can you harness your foe's hatred and twist it to your advantage ? If you have this ability now is the opportunity to prove your worth.'

Master of Hate says, 'This is the Mastery of Hate trial. You must incite your enemies to focus their rage on those who are best equpped to handle it. Should your force exhaust your defensive members at any point in time, you will fail. Are you ready to [begin]?'

Master of Hate says 'Very well! Let the battle commence!'

As you enter the chamber you will see six Voracious Ferans (level 73+) on the small platforms. The first step towards winning this trial is killing those six mobs which will spawn loads of adds (Pliant, Ferocious and Feeble Direpup, all cast Lash Out). After they are down the Master of Hate will come alive and has to be killed as well. He summons, rampages, and enrages

Whosoever approaches me has addressed the embodiment of Realms, keeper of the trials of Ingenuity and Adaptation. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. You say, 'Ingenuity'

Projection of Realms says 'When faced with an insurmountable goal - an unbeatable adversary - do you accept defeat or can you identify the weaknesses that reverse the odds and secure a win in your favor? Do you have the ingenuity to see through to victory even when facing certain failure? If you have this ability, now is the opportunity to prove your worth!'

Upon zoning in, you'll see the Master of Ingenuity on the central platform in the main room.

You say, 'Hail, Master of Ingenuity'

Master of Ingenuity says 'This is the Mastery of Ingenuity trial. You must demonstrate your ability to think on your feet, to defeat an unbeatable opponent. Are you ready to [begin]?'

You say, 'We're ready to begin'

To win the event you must kill the Master of Ingenuity. Unfortunately, he is immune to damage from magic and normal weapons. He can only be damaged by the special bane weapons held by the Dragorns on the smaller podiums around the edge of the room.

The boss is immune to magic, so you'll need to use disease-slow. The dragorns you fight for bane weapons are partially slowable and don't hit very hard.

Kill the boss to win the trial.

When he dies a Shell of the Master will spawn containing one loot item.

If this is the first time you have beaten this particular event you will also gain an AA ability called Trials of Mata Muram this will increase your resist cap for all resists by 5.

You have entered Proving Grounds: The Mastery of Subversion.

In this trial, your group members must open chests to discover various-valued Seals of Subversion. Most of the chests are locked, and differently-named ones correspond to the archetype that can disarm and unlock them. Say, "begin" to start the trial.:

a spellbound chest must be disarmed/unlocked by casters :
- ENC MAG NEC : using Wuggan's Greater Discombobulation to disarm then Wuggan's Greater Extrication to unlock ;
- WIZ : using Xalirilan's Greater Discombobulation to disarm then Xalirilan's Greater Extrication to unlock.

a hexed chest must be disarmed/unlocked by priests :
- CLR : using Iony's Greater Exorcism to disarm then Iony's Greater Cleansing to unlock ;
- DRU SHM : using Reebo's Greater Exorcism to disarm then Reebo's Greater Cleansing to unlock.

an ironbound chest by rogues/bards (Pick Locks).

For both casters and priests, a Greater Scrying Stone is used as a reagent for the Disarm spell. Be sure to have enough before starting the trial if you intend to use the Disarm / Unlock spells.

Failure to disarm the chests properly will trigger various nasty effects :
- Jagged Rust : Increase Disease Counter by 20, Decrease Hitpoints by 1500 per tick ;
- Disorienting Vortex : Decrease Hitpoints by 400 per tick, Decrease Movement by 40% ;
- Hazy Cloudcurse : Increase Curse Counter by 20, Decrease Stats by 175, Drunk if Alcohol Tolerance not at least 50.

Your team has recovered a copper seal, worth 10. You are a little closer to reaching your goal of 300.

Your team has recovered a silver seal, worth 20. You are a little closer to reaching your goal of 300.

Your team has recovered a gold seal, worth 30. You are a little closer to reaching your goal of 300.

Once you reach 300 points, the group is to kill the Master of Subversion and two dragorn guardians to win the trial.

Problem: There are also dragorn roamers (a dragorn patroller) which will waste time and threaten wipeout if aggroed. They can drop copper seals.. but not so often as to make killing them worthwile.

The keys to this trial are the avoidance of aggro, LDoN-style "unlock chest" spells/abilities, and quick reaction times to chest traps (get cured ASAP).

Use of pacification spells is beneficial in this trial to keep the roamers at bay while you open and loot chests. Once all 300 points are collected, the roamers despawn. The only mobs left are the Master of Subversion and his two guards.

Master of Subversion has about 150,000 hitpoints and is fairly simple for a 10k+ tank to handle. Shell of the Master spawns after successful completion with the loot.

The Mastery of Weaponry (Group) (Normal): This is a single group trial.

The time will come when the flexibility gained from proficiency in multiple weapon styles will turn the tide of a battle and the alternative is failure. You must come to understand the value of weaponry. If you have this ability, now is the opportunity to prove your worth!'

Master of Weaponry says 'This is the Mastery of Weaponry trial. You must demonstrate your ability to be flexible in your choice of armaments, and use alternative methods when weaponry fails you. Are you ready to [begin]?'

You say, 'Begin.'

The trial has begun. You cannot bring any additional people into your expedition at this time.

In this trial, you will have to defeat four mobs in 15 minutes. Sounds easy enough, but they have massive amounts of hitpoints and require you to use certain attacks to kill in a rate quick enough to beat the timer.

The Bazu, Hulking Bazu, is weak to slashing.
The Dragorn, Hemkai the Ascendant, is weak to piercing.
The Golem, Granite Stoneguardian, is weak to blunt weapons.
The Lightning mob, Steelshock, is weak to nukes.

Finish these four mobs off in the allotted 15 minutes, and you win your trial. A Shell of the Master spawns with the loot.
