Quests for Burning Woods

Druid Epic: Nature Walker's Scimitar (Normal): Telin Darkforest may be found at 3240, 2862, -155.

You say, 'Hail, Telin Darkforest'

Telin Darkforest looks at you serenely. 'Hello, wanderer.'

You say, 'What are you doing here?'

Telin Darkforest says 'Mighty this place must have been, once. Now scarred by hatred and suffering. I have been sent here seeking answers to problems not yet understood.'

You say, 'What answers?'

Telin Darkforest considers you for a few moments before speaking. 'A great evil walks across the land. The hand of some demon we don't yet know is twisting and polluting forests.'

You say, 'What demon?'

Telin Darkforest says 'Mighty this place must have been, once. Now scarred by hatred and suffering. I have been sent here seeking answers to problems not yet understood.'

You say, 'What evil?'

Telin Darkforest says 'If I knew that, I wouldnt be here looking for answers. I would be elsewhere, looking for solutions. For now, I suspect much but know little.'

You say, 'What do you suspect?'

Telin Darkforest looks at you and sighs. 'The lands are changing. Beasts, large and small, have turned upon those who watched over them. Druids and rangers, worshippers of both Karana and Tunare, have reported a feeling of hatred throughout their once peaceful lands.'

You say, 'Perhaps it is Innoruuk?'

Telin Darkforest raises his eyebrow slightly and a subtle look of surprise creeps across his face. 'Innoruuk? Perhaps. Aye. It must be. Perhaps I knew and didn't want to consider the possibility. It must be this though, and some action will have to be taken.'

You say, 'What action?'

If your faction standing is too low with Faydarks Champions (high amiable required), you can build it up by doing the Muffin for Pandos quest in Freeport.

If it is high enough, you will see:

Telin Darkforest looks at you consideringly and then scribbles something quickly on a small, worn paper. 'You seem powerful enough. Perhaps you can help those who seek to protect nature's peace. Take this note. Deliver it only into the hands of Faelin Bloodbriar. Where you will find her, I cannot say. She is a friend of mine and a wanderer. She has been seen from one end of the lands to the other. Seek her out, and quickly.'

You receive a Worn Note (identifies as "Note from the hands of Telin").

Find Faelin Bloodbriar in the Greater Faydark, a rare spawn at +1500, +500, with an orc pawn as placeholder. She roams the northern part of the zone near Crushbone. Give her the note.

Faelin Bloodbriar reads the note carefully and growls to herself. 'Bad news, eh? Take this ring. There is one elf, dark elf even, who we must find in order to gain insight into Innoruuk's plans. Giz X'Tin, he goes by most commonly. Kithicor seems to be his favorite haunt and most likely you will find him there. Don't ask how I know him. Just take the ring as my sign to him and he will speak to you. We don't need to speak again, so don't seek me out, just go to Telin. I must leave to investigate these events.'

You receive Faelin's Ring (identifies as "Personal Ring of Faelin"). Faelin despawns.

Find Giz X`Tin roaming the path in Kithicor Forest, but he may be found at +1501, +940. Give him the ring.

Giz X'Tin flips you a coin after he recognizes the ring. 'It seems we have a mutual 'acquaintance.' The coin repays an old debt. You don't have to worry about what that is. Luckily, Lord Innoruuk has informed me of your coming and your desires. Fortunately, I have all the answers you require right here at the end of my friend's blade. I think I'll be paying my old 'friend' a visit.'

You receive a Dark Metal Coin (identifies as "An old coin"). A level 50 Teir`Dal Reaver spawns and attacks. You can outrun it with SoW if required, or kill it (no faction hits). Once it's dead:

Teir`Dal Reaver says 'Lord Innoruuk, I have failed you. Forgive me and spare me from service to your undead minions in this world!'

Go back to Telin Darkforest and give him the coin.

Telin Darkforest scratches the coin as he looks at it. 'Faelin sent you to Giz? Surprising. This coin speaks to the outcome of your talk. He would hardly give this bit of metal to a stranger, but that's a story for a different time. So, you say Giz did confirm Innoruuk's involvement, and something about undead minions? Here, take this coin back. Find Arch Druid Althele in the Karanas and show her that. Tell her what we have discussed. She will look kindly on an ally in this matter.'

You get a Worn Dark Metal Coin back (identifies as "An old coin, worn through handling"). Althele may be found in East Karana at -3650, -1600.

You say, 'Hail, Althele'

Althele says 'Hello, friend. Beautiful is what I would call such a day normally, but lately? I sense that something is [out of balance].'

You say, 'What is out of balance?'

Althele says 'I sense something foreboding, young one, but you should think nothing of it. The sons and daughters of nature will be able to deal with this problem.'

Give her the coin.

Althele looks at the coin and nods gravely at you as she slips it into a fold of her clothing. 'I see. The story of this coin speaks much to me as do the words you have given me. Telin sent word that you would arrive. The tidings you bring are ill indeed. Here, take this amulet and find Sionae. She is nearby. We will speak more on this matter when all are present.'

You receive a Braided Grass Amulet (identifies as "Token of Gathering").

You begin tracking Sionae.

Give her the amulet.

Sionae says 'I see that the time has come. Take the amulet and give it to the third of our kin, Nuien. I will meet you at the gathering.'

You get a Frayed Braided Grass Amulet (identifies as "Token frayed by use").

You begin tracking Nuien.

Give her the amulet.

Nuien says 'So be it. Do as you have done before and find the next. Teloa is the last.'

You get the amulet back.

You begin tracking Teloa.

Give her the amulet.

Teloa begins walking toward the gathering spot. 'Follow, friend.'

When Teloa gets to the group:

Althele says 'Great mother of life and father of sky, growth and spirit, Tunare and Karana. Innoruuk once again schemes and we have failed in our duties to protect our land. We give our powers in sacrifice for your help. Heed our call and send us your wisdom.'

Teloa begins to cast a spell.
Teloa breathes slowly as tendrils of power emanate from her body and race along the ground.
Nuien begins to cast a spell.
Nuien growls as his power seeps into the earth.
Sionae begins to cast a spell.
Sionae shivers as her power flows into the air above the gathering.
Tholris begins to cast a spell.
Tholris breathes quickly and sweats as he channels his spirit into the sky.

Althele snaps her head towards you. 'Innoruuk's brood is upon us. Go, find the spawn of hatred before they reach this point and destroy them!'

Dark Elf Corruptor shouts 'We come for you, fools. Your reign of weakness over the powers of the land comes to an end now!'

The last step is the trigger for the Dark Elf Corruptor and two Dark Elf Reavers (all about level 50) to spawn on top of the hill east of the river, at -1500, -1000. The Corruptor will despawn after 10 seconds if not attacked. The Reavers will attack and try to kill the four druids (Althele will respawn in about an hour); if they succeed, the Corruptor will despawn. Kill the Corruptor.

Your faction standing with Indigo Brotherhood got worse.
Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Steel Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Primordial Malice got better.
You gain experience!!

--You have looted a Fleshbound Tome.--

Give the tome to Althele.

Althele hands the book to Tholris who reads through it with lines of concern etched on his face, then whispers into her ear. 'Dire news, indeed. This cannot be allowed. I must keep this book but you, ______, must not allow Innoruuk, to seed the land with his hatred and filth. You have only just begun your quest. The path you are guided upon will be difficult, if not impossible, but someone must finish it. Please, take this, read of it, follow its instructions. Tunare bless your path and Karana watch over you.'

You receive an Earth Stained Note (identifies as "Note from Althele"), which reads:

We cannot speak again. Our circle is now known and must seek sanctuary. In case this note were to fall into others' hands, I cannot tell you plainly the next steps of your task. All I can say is to seek she who walks the path of the mother, she who walks the lands in service to her kin. Give her this note and she will know.

The one you must seek is Ella Foodcrafter, who wanders Misty Thicket. Make sure to have an inventory slot free.

You say, 'Hail, Ella Foodcrafter'

Ella Foodcrafter says 'Hi, hi. I've got a lot to do, many mouths to feed, some filthy goblins to smack. If you don't need me for something, please let me go back to my work. Karana watch over you.'

Give her the Earth Stained Note.

Ella Foodcrafter says 'Hmmm. I've been waiting for someone to bring me this. I'm sorry such a young one as you has taken up this task. Maybe the sky god blesses ya though. Aye, ya have that look in your eye. Our task is to focus the blessings of the gods and cleanse the filth from the land. I have two tasks for ya.'

You say, 'What two tasks?'

Ella Foodcrafter says 'Well, ya ask before ya act. That's a good sign. What I need isn't easy to find. First, I need a mixture. Plain sounding enough but it's a special one. Cleanses the mind and focuses the earth's energies into a forest walker's mind. I don't know how to make it. I don't even know what it's called. I merely know it exists and we'll be needing it for our task. When ya do find how to make it ya can mix it in that bowl. Keep it when youre done, it's a good bowl.'

You receive a Shiny Tin Bowl.

You say, 'What is the second task?'

Ella Foodcrafter grins. 'Good, ya didn't run off without finding out what else ya need to do. Second, I need a special type of bowl. An ancient type of bowl, which strengthened the food placed inside it, once made by the elves of old. Again, I cannot tell ya how it is made for the making was lost to the ages. Seek this knowledge and these items out in the lands. Come to me when ya have found both.'

The Hardened Mixture

You must forage four items and combine them in Ella's mixing bowl:

- Chilled Tundra Root from Everfrost Peaks (identifies as "Root frozen rock hard by the tundra")

- Sweetened Mudroot from Misty Thicket (identifies as "Sweet Root from Misty Thicket")

- Speckled Molded Mushroom from Innothule Swamp (identifies as "Old molded mushroom")

- Ripened Heartfruit from Greater Faydark (identifies as "Fruit ripened perfectly")

Combine the items in the bowl to craft a Hardened Mixture (no-fail combine?).

The Runed Bowl

Go to the Chess Island in Timorous Deep (Succor will take you there once inside the zone) and seek Alrik Farsight near -5875, +2845. You must /con at least amiably to the Keepers of the Art to him for him to talk to you.

You say, 'Hail, Alrik Farsight'

Alrik Farsight says 'Ah. Hello there, adventurer. Come to search for ancient artifacts with Fizzlebik and myself?'

You say, 'What ancient artifacts?'

Alrik Farsight says 'Oh. All types of things. This area is great. So many artifacts and remains of things all over. It's starting to fall into the pattern of things.'

You say, 'What ancient bowls?'

Alrik Farsight rummages through his tattered bag and throws aside a towel. 'Too many towels. Oh well, someone told me they were good to have once. Here it is, a bowl pattern. Interesting bowl. Looks almost like a magical bowl but I'm no potter. You need it, you say? Well, it is interesting. Part of my research here is for the wizard guild in Felwithe. I'm sure they'd put a high price on this one, the enchanters guild being so interested in trading for magical paraphernalia and all. Of course if you helped me out on a chore I have, I'd be happy to give it to you. I need to deliver an artifact to the guild and I'd much rather stay here exploring. If you wish, you can take the artifact and return with the receipt and I'll give you the pattern.'

You say, 'I will take the artifact.'

Alrik Farsight says 'Hah! Okay, then. Here take this to Farios Elianos in Felwithe. He will give you the receipt.'

You receive a Crushed Pot (identifies as "Ancient crushed pot"). Seek out Farios Elianos in Southern Felwithe at +380, -845. If he won't respond to you, you must build up your faction with Keepers of the Art. Give him the pot.

Farios Elianos says 'Eh? What is this? A cracked earthen pot? Why in the nine hells would I need a crushed pot? Perhaps I could use it to not hold water! Why did you even bother me with this? Are you mentally deficient? Apparently. Oh, well, you're just a servant boy. Well, then, we'll make you useful, if just a little. Take this shopping list and go get my groceries. Take it to Nora in the tavern. She'll know what I need.'

You receive a Grocery List (identifies as "List of Provisions"). Take it to Merchant Nora in Northern Felwithe at +145, -415, inside the Shop of All Holos.

Merchant Nora says 'You hardly look like the type of errand runner Farios usually sends out to fetch his groceries but here they are. I hope he chokes on them. Oh, and tell him he still owes me five gold for his last order!'

You receive a Bag of Provisions (identifies as "Bag of Groceries"). Bring it back to Farios.

Farios Elianos says 'Ah, good. Here's a few copper and a receipt for services rendered. Now be off, I'm sure citizens across the land are in dire need of broken pots at right this moment.'

You receive a Receipt (identifies as "Receipt for errand running"). Bring it back to Alrik.

Alrik Farsight grins happily. 'Excellent! Was he pleased with the artifact? Oh, that's not even worth answering. I'm sure he was. He's always happy with the things I send him. That's why he honored me with this position of esteem, searching for useful and powerful items in this newly discovered land.'

If you did the previous turn-in close enough to Xiblin Fizzlebik, you'll see:

Xiblin Fizzlebik mutters to himself. 'Yeah, not because you're a goblin headed moron or anything.'

Alrik Farsight says 'What was that, Xib?'

Xiblin Fizzlebik says 'I didn't say anything! Now get back on your side of the island, you're getting dirt and junk all over mine!'

You receive an Ancient Pattern (identifies as "Ancient Bowl Pattern"). It reads:

.........x..........w...............iea.......Pla......Sp......Powder....
Encha......lay.......
This........attern.

The pattern says that you have to combine it with a piece of Enchanted Clay and Platinum Speckled Powder in a pottery wheel (no-fail combine).

To obtain Enchanted Clay, seek out Kinlo Strongarm in Kaladim's Everhot Forge in North Kaladim at +350, -175.

You say, 'Hail, Kinlo Strongarm'

Kinlo does not respond. At random intervals, Kinlo will emote as follows:

Kinlo Strongarm says, 'Mud, rock, crystals, gems, metal. Arrrrrr!'

You say, 'What mud?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Eh? Oh, the clay. Arrr. Lots o' that mud round 'ere. Mostly, a good dwarf not be needin' somethin' so soft 'n squishy but the womenfolk, you know, the elves come lookin' fer it. If ye be one o' those pansy elves wantin' some mud fer workin' into fairy statues, flashy trinkets, 'n pig sticker arrers then I can get it for ye. Course I'd be lowerin' meself, a good dwarf, ta be diggin' that kinda mush outta the ground, but I can do it fer ya.'

You say, 'Do it for me.'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Arrr. Shaddap. I ain't doin' it til ya bring me somethin'. A fee, I guess ye'd call it, fer lowerin' meself ta elf woman work. Go get me a good strong axe and I'll do it fer ye. Mebbe somethin' with a good tinted polish on it. I got plenty o' axes but no tinted ones. Har har! Colored axe. Somethin' to go with the color left on the blade after I be crackin open a gobbo head.'

The axe in question is a Jade Reaver, dropped in the City of Mist. Hand it in:

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Arrrrr. Ooooo. Arrrrrr... Yah, now that's what I be callin' a good lookin' axe. I be crackin' a few skulls with this one. Oh, here's yer block o' mud. Our priests o' Brell use the mud pit fer relievin' themselves after really hard ale blessin' ceremonies, so ya ain't got ta be enchantin' it in holy water or anythin' cause they already have. Har har!'

You receive Enchanted Clay (identifies as "Dwarven holy clay").

To obtain Platinum Speckled Powder, seek out Merdan Fleetfoot in Surefall Glades at +245, -75.

You say, 'Hail, Merdan Fleetfoot'

Merdan Fleetfoot says 'Yes Niera! Oh. Erm. Hi. I mean, uh. How are you?'

You say, 'Who is Niera?'

Merdan Fleetfoot blushes. 'She is, uh.. I don't know. I haven't been able to speak with her. She has many suitors, and I'm just another poor ranger. I spend my days here pretending to fish, to carve bows, but really I'm just waiting to catch a glimpse of her. I thought about adventuring into the world to find some kind of token to give her, to show her how I feel, but I cant tear myself away from here.'

Forage a Rose of Firiona in Firiona Vie and bring it back to him.

Merdan Fleetfoot blinks and looks at the flower. 'This is perfect. Thank you! I'm going to go over to her now. Erm, well, maybe I'll wait a week to let the uh.. beauty of the flower.. uhm.. blossom. Yes, that sounds good. Here, you take this painting. I don't need it now. I made it myself, she wouldn't like it anyways.'

You receive a Wood Painting (identifies as "Painting for Niera"). Find "a human skeleton" wandering the western side of the Frontier Mountains from the giant fort to the Burning Woods zoneline near -815, -905, on the south side of the giant fort. Give it the painting.

Any dialogues before this?

a human skeleton begins to crack and disintegrate, its body collapsing into a pile of dust that scatters into the winds. On the ground you notice a locket on a fine, thin chain which you pick up.

The locket is a Silver Chained Locket (identifies as "Niera's Locket"). Head to Niera Farbreeze in Surefall Glades at +105, -190. If you hang around long enough, you'll see:

Niera Farbreeze hums softly, a little tune that tickles the back of your mind but you can't quite recall.

You say, 'What are you humming?'

Niera Farbreeze says 'Ohh. Just a little song my mother taught me when I was young. It speaks of the earth, the sky, and the sparkling stars above, always there.'

You say, 'Always there?'

Niera Farbreeze says 'Aye, always there. Like this small bag I wear around my neck. The last gift of my dying
mother. It holds a fine dust, a dust she collected during her short life, that she believed brought her luck. It's speckled, flecked as the night sky is with stars.'

You say, 'Where can I find platinum speckled powder?'

Niera Farbreeze says 'I've had this little bit of dust, all I have of my mother, for many years now. It's the only reminder I have of her. She said it was special, magical, a warmth to help me through the nights. Even if my life were in the balance, I would have a hard time giving it up.'

How do you find out that the human skeleton is Niera's mother?

Give her the locket.

Niera Farbreeze says 'This, this is my mother's amulet. I cannot believe it. Please, take this powder you say you need. Perhaps it does have powers, I don't know, I don't care. Thank you, my eternal thanks for this.'

You receive Platinum Speckled Powder.

Now combine the pattern, clay and powder in any pottery wheel to make the Runecrested Bowl (identifies as "A meticulously decorated bowl").

The Stones

Head back to Misty Thicket and give Ella Foodcrafter the Hardened Mixture and the Runecrested Bowl.

Ella Foodcrafter smiles slowly as she works the mixture in the bowl and it starts to shine with power. 'This is... a piece of a lost magic item known as Nature's Gem. When restored to completeness I've heard its healing powers will be extraordinary. Take it now. I will take the bowl and hopefully do some good from my end. From here, you can go many ways but I can't guide your path step by step. The only advice I can give you is to look for ones such as yourself.'

You receive a Softly Glowing Stone (identifies as "Left Half of Natures Balance").

Seek out Foloal Stormforest in Firiona Vie at +60, -3270.

You say, 'Hail, Foloal Stormforest'

You say, 'Are you one such as myself?'

Foloal Stormforest stares at you and whispers. 'You must be the one that has been spoken of. Yes, yes I am one of the circle. There are many of us in the lands right now, all seeking answers to the ills that have befallen our homes.'

You say, 'What answers?'

Foloal Stormforest says 'I have heard whispers of new Iksar movements in the land. The name of Venril Sathir is on the scaled lips and sharp tongues of every cold blooded lizard in this place.'

You say, 'Who is Venril Sathir?'

Foloal Stormforest says 'All I've heard are whispers of connections between the undead lizards and the dark god of hate. There's some kind of history behind the two. It might be that Venril is the main focus of Innoruuk's will in the land. Then again, maybe not, but this is the best we've gotten so far. If you think you can do it, then find him and remove him from the face of this earth. Bring me the half of the stone I know you have and whatever conduit of power you find on his rotting corpse.'

Venril Sathir himself is relatively easy to kill. Once it's dead, Venril Sathirs remains [sic] will spawn. Give it a Summoned: Firefly Globe.

Venril Sathirs remains grasps the glowing sphere of fireflies from your hands. Tendrils of mystical energy begin to flow forth from the swarm of glowing insects like tiny fingers. The glowing tendrils begin to reach into the ribcage of the rotting remains of Venril Sathir, coalescing into the form of an iksar ghost.

Give it a Spell: Resurrection.

Spirit of Venril Sathir says 'I am alive! My thanks to you, ______. And now I will aid you in your quest for preserving the forests of norrath. Your carcass will help nurture the soils of the wilderness.'

It respawns as the triggered version of Venril Sathir. Kill it.

--You have looted a Pulsing Green Stone.--

Head back to Foloal and give him the Softly Glowing Stone and Pulsing Green Stone.

Foloal Stormforest blinks and carefully takes the stones from you, cautiously scratching the jagged green stone against the other. Its skin seems to shiver and flake at the contact and eventually begins to shine brightly. 'With the gem nature's balance is complete. Take the stone and walk your path. Blade or lightning caller, burning sword or the mother's walk.'

You get a Warmly Glowing Stone (identifies as "Nature's Balance Completed").

Head back to Ella Foodcrafter in Misty Thicket and give her the stone.

Ella Foodcrafter hands you a scimitar she usually wears at her side. 'Thank you, ______. With this we can hold back the corruption. We have learned something new though. Not only is this work the responsibility of the lord of hatred alone. For some reason we cannot know the lord of disease has decided it worthy of his time to work in conjunction with Innoruuk. The spirits of the three main continents, Faydwer Antonica and Kunark, have been corrupted. Look for the corrupted forces of the land and heal them. When you have found them all then take my scimitar and the spirits to Xanuusus.'

You receive an Elaborate Scimitar (identifies as "Elaborately Runed Scimitar").

The Cleansed Spirits

The Cleansed Spirit of Faydwer

NOTE: the unicorn will not respond to you or take any items from you until you are at least level 46.

You say, 'Hail, pained unicorn'

pained unicorn snorts and stamps at the ground. An unusual angry glimmer enters the eyes of what should be one of Tunare's most peaceful creatures. Its coat seems slickened and filthy in places.

You say, 'What corruption?'

pained unicorn tosses its head back, drool falling from its mouth. 'The priests of the sick channel filth and sickness into the lands. Too late did we notice to stop them. You can though. Here, in the ocean, and the underwater city of the old. Go to those places and find the corruptions. Bring them to me.'

It's referring to the corrupted brownie elsewhere in Lesser Faydark, the corrupted seafury cyclops in the Ocean of Tears, and the corrupted seahorse in Kedge Keep.

Give the three items to the pained unicorn.

pained unicorn tosses its head back and whinnies as the items that were corrupted are brought near. It seems to burn and brighten as the items melt into the ground. 'Take my horn, symbol of Faydwer, now cleansed, to the gnome priest. It is anathema to him, to the corrupt forces in his soul, channeled into him by his dark god and will release the grip of corruption on the land. He is close, I can feel it.'

You receive a Gleaming Unicorn Horn (identifies as "Pure Symbol of Tunare").

Find Silox Azrix in Ak'Anon near the mines on the left side of the river, at +2000, -260. Map location:

P 261.4257, -2012.0223, -194.3498, 0, 240, 0, 2, Silox_Azrix_-_Druid_1.0

You say, 'Hail, Silox Azrix'

Silox Azrix gives you a crooked smile. 'Hello there, ______. I'm doin some important 'meditations' to my
god here. Maybe you can go somewhere else?'

Since he's a gnome cleric practicing in the Scrapyard near the evil clerics, he's eeeevvilll. Give him the horn.

Silox Azrix looks up at you with a twisted gleam in his eyes. 'Something for me then, eh?' As he looks closer his skin begins to peel and stretch, a bright hot light emanating from his hands gripped around the unicorn horn. 'NOOOO!' The pure cleansing light burns away the gnome without a trace of his existence except for a tiny ball of light which you pick up.

You receive the Cleansed Spirit of Faydwer.

The Cleansed Spirit of Antonica

Find a "withered treant" in North Karana at +1175, -1050.

You say, 'Hail, withered treant'

withered treant says 'Yes. My bark is blackened and cracked by sickness. If only I were the only one to be afflicted this way. Throughout the lands this is happening. Agents of some dark god are twisting the lands and their creatures.'

You say, 'What sickness?'

withered treant says 'I have kept in touch with friends of Tunare and Karana. It seems something is building amid the darkness. Some pact between gods to corrupt. All I know for sure is that you can stop the sickness in this land. I can feel it, vaguely. Somewhere, in the mountain and lake areas, and far north amid the cold mountains is where the land hurts most. Go, find the sources of corruption, and bring them back to me. Three should be their number.'

It's referring to the corrupted mammoth in Everfrost Peaks, the corrupted shaman in Lake Rathetear, and the corrupted hill giant in the Mountains of Rathe.

To spawn the corrupted mammoth, kill wooly mammoth calves (placeholders) until you spawn the tainted wooly mammoth, which you must kill to spawn the corrupted wooly mammoth. Kill it to loot a Chunk of Tundra (identifies as "Tundra from Everfrost").

To spawn the corrupted shaman, kill side spawns on top of the underwater tower to spawn the tainted aquagoblin, which you must kill to spawn the corrupted shaman. You can use wolf-form to remain non-aggro to the other goblins. Kill the corrupted shaman to loot Clean Lakewater (identifies as "Water from Lake Rathe").

To spawn the corrupted hill giant, kill hill giants south of the hill with the guard tower until you spawn the tainted hill giant, which you must kill to spawn the corrupted hill giant. Kill it to loot an Ancient Rock (identifies as "Ancient piece of earth from Rathe Mountains").

Bring these items back to the withered treant.

withered treant lets out a sigh like a slow storm over the plains of Karana. Its skin begins to slough off into piles at its base. 'This step is done. Now, take my heart, pure symbol of Antonica. My heart, cleansed of corruption, can interrupt the flow of the corruption between the priest and his dark god. Force it upon him, quickly. I can feel him here in the karanas somewhere.'

You receive a Warm Pulsing Treant Heart (identifies as "Pure Symbol of Karana"). The treant despawns.

Find Yeka Ias in South Karana at 2330, -2355. Occasionally he emotes:

Yeka Ias seems oblivious to the outside world. He stares into the water, chuckling every so often, as he drops in some sort of pebble that hisses for a moment on impact. His robes seem faded, tattered, and caked in dirt. A slight green shimmer surrounds his body.

Give him the heart (how do you know to give it to him?).

Yeka Ias grabs the heart as you toss it to him before realizing what it is. As soon as it touches his hands, his body convulses, a sickly light emanating from his eyes and oozing cracks appear in his skin. As he melts into the ground, a small glowing ball floats where he once stood.

You receive the Cleansed Spirit of Antonica. It despawns.

The Cleansed Spirit of Kunark

Find Ulump Pujluk, a named froglok in the Swamp of No Hope at -110, -1760.

You say, 'Hail, Ulump Pujluk'

Ulump Pujluk croaks slowly and wipes a filthy muck from its eyes as it tries to look at you. 'Something come to talk to Ulump. Too much pain. Just go.' It goes back to scratching and wiping at its muck and filth covered body.

You say, 'What corruption?'

Ulump Pujluk says 'Corruption spread by priests of disease. It slides and moves just beneath the surface of the land. Ulump not able to hold on any more. If you stormwalker and trying to cleanse the land then you must kill Ulump. Kill him and take his essence and the three foci from the corrupted beasts to the filthy gnome who hurts the land. Ulump can feel him, far off near the large water.'

Kill him. He's a warrior that doubles for 250, has ~32k HPs, and cannot be slowed or tashed. Loot Froglok Essence (identifies as "Soul of a Cleansed Froglok").

The three corrupted mobs of Kunark are the corrupted gorilla in the Emerald Jungle, the corrupted barracuda in the Lake of Ill Omen, and the dragon Faydedar that lives in Timorous Deep.

To spawn the corrupted gorilla, kill tottering gorillas in the northern part of the plateau until you spawn a tainted gorilla. Kill non-undead tainted gorillas until you spawn the corrupted version, which you must kill to loot Green Tree Bark (identifies as ""Tree sample from Emerald Jungle"). Note that it has SoW speed.

To spawn the corrupted barracuda, kill barracudas in the lake at -900, -835 until you spawn a tainted barracuda. Kill higher-level tainted barracudas to spawn the corrupted version, which you must kill to loot Pure Lakewater (identifies as "Water from Ill Omen"). Map location:

P 831.7036, 903.6237, -1.2815, 0, 240, 0, 2, Corrupted_Barracuda_-_Druid_1.0

The triggered version of Faydedar spawns in the hidden oasis in Timorous Deep. To spawn it, find Dolgin Codslayer at -11840, -1855, on the beach in the oasis. Map location:

P 1856.4943, 11819.9971, -1.2618, 0, 240, 0, 2, Dolgin_Codslayer_-_Druid_1.0

You say, 'Hail, Dolgin Codslayer'

Dolgin Codslayer says 'ARGH! Dangit, ya scared me! Tread cautiously, friend. This here place ain't as friendly as it seems. There's a beast lurkin' in this here puddle.'

You say, 'A beast?'

Dolgin Codslayer says 'Aye lad. I seen it come from the ocean. It was fightin' a group of adventurers, not unlike yerself. The battle raged long and hard, and at the end the beast lay still among countless of the adventurers bodies. They left assuming it had been slain by their hands. But, once they left, I seen it come crawlin in this here place. They called it by the name Fayde, er, Fayred. Hrmm. What was it they called it? I can't remember.'

You say, 'Faydedar?'

Dolgin Codslayer says 'Ya! That's what they called it! A great water dragon as the legends say. Only way to find him now is to lure him out from hiding. Not that I would suggest doin such a thing. The dern thing's broken, bleedin, and cornered. That's a mighty deadly position to put a critter in if ye ask me. Course if yer wantin' to try it, there might be a way. Ya willin to risk it?'

You say, 'I will risk it.'

Dolgin Codslayer says 'Well jus' before that there beast ended up in combat, I watched him from the shores. Only reason he got into such a mess was 'cause of his belly. He swam right into those adventurers chasin' down a wandering froglok. You wanna catch a fish, use the right bait. If only we had us some frogloks essence, then mebbe he'd come out agin. But I must warn ye laddies that the bloke over by the inn already warned me to leave all the natural critters in this here oasis in peace. He might get right mad if he sees a battle brewin' here.'

Hand him the froglok essence looted from Ulump.

Dolgin Codslayer says 'What's this? Egads! It's perfect. Now all we gotta do is hope he bites.' Dolgin takes a little of the essence and smears it on a piece of bread. He places the bait into the water and watches intently.'

He will hand it back and despawn. Faydedar will now be spawned in the water in the middle of the oasis. Kill it to loot a Pod of Seawater (identifies as "Seawater from Timorous").

Find Nekexin Virulence in The Overthere at +3660, -790. Occasionally he emotes:

Nekexin Virulence chuckles to himself as he notices blades of grass disintegrate beneath his feet. He stares out over the water as if watching for some sign.

You say, 'What corruption?'

Nekexin Virulence grins wide at you. 'Corruption? I know nothing of corruption.' He goes back to staring out over the water.

Give the four items to Nekexin (Ulump Pujluk told you to hand his "essence and the three foci from the corrupted beasts to the filthy gnome who hurts the land. Ulump can feel him, far off near the large water.").

Nekexin Virulence stares at the swirling bottle of essence. His eyes open wide as he realizes what it is. As its warm bright waves wash over him his skin dissolves into a green goo that coats the ground. From his remains a floating white ball is retrieved.

It despawns. You receive the Cleansed Spirit of Kunark.

The End

Find Xanuusus the treant in North Karana at +1335, +495.

You say, 'Hail, Xanuusus'

Xanuusus says 'Greetings, small one! I am Xanuusus of the Stormreapers. You are welcome to rest beneath my mighty branches.'

Give it the scimitar and the three cleansed spirits.

Xanuusus pushes the spirits into the air, making them dance around the scimitar. With a wave of his hand they melt into the blade and hilt of the weapon. 'With this the spirits of the lands are now free from the corruption of the dark gods. Through your strength and dedication was this possible, ______. May the foul poison that once poured into the earth itself never do so again. Take this weapon that you may continue to watch over the balance of nature. Go now, with the gods' blessings.'
You gain experience!!

You receive your epic weapon, the Nature Walkers Scimitar, and access to the title "Naturewalker."

All the parts that haven't mentioned how many people you need can be done solo.
Reward: Nature Walkers Scimitar
Reward: Elaborate Scimitar

Enchanter Epic 1.5: Oculus of Persuasion (Normal): If you have the Staff of the Serpent (enchanter epic 1.0) or have completed the pre-quest, find "a sarnak imitator," a.k.a. Jeb Lumsed, in the Burning Woods at -1200, -4000.

You say, 'Hail, a sarnak imitator'

a sarnak imitator says 'Much time has passed since the creation of the Staff of the Serpent. The power of discord is seeping into our fair world, and only the most powerful of us shall stand to force it back. The time has come for a new tool, and a new breed of enchanter. [Are you prepared] to meet this challenge?'

You say, 'I am prepared.'

a sarnak imitator says 'I have recently received this ancient tome; it contains knowledge that may prove invaluable to the construction of a new staff. Unfortunately, time has had its way with it. I need you to find the missing pages so we can get to work. There should be ten, unless they have been destroyed by time and decay.'

You receive a Tattered Illegible Tome, a 10-slot container. Now you must collect the ten Cryptic Pages (no unique item lore), which are all ground spawns that may be found as follows:

1. In Charasis (Howling Stones) at -135, +245, -165.

2. In Old Sebilis in the Ilis jail at -260, +355, -176 (go down the water tube, turn right, and go into the jail cell near the Echo of Sebilis).

3. In Cazic Thule at +430, -390 (just north of the wizard spire, in a room with lizards and pillars).

4. In Crystal Caverns at -590, -940, -536 (in the queen's room, practically under her).

5. In Skyshrine at +150, +385, +3 (the southwest tower).

6. In Velketor's Labyrinth at +260, -425, +21 (at the first dog tent on the left).

7. In the Crypt of Nadox at +785, +1745, -82 (near the broodmother).

8. In Najena at -160, -120, -19 (near Rathyl in the basement).

9. In Fungus Grove at +1135, +1275 (in the Lucid Shard camp in the Shik`Nar tunnels).

10. In the Ocean of Tears at +945, +7860, -232 (between three sirens).

If you miss a spawn, the Cryptic Pages respawn every 45 minutes. Combine the ten pages in the book to craft a Complete Illegible Tome. Bring this back to Jeb.

a sarnak imitator says 'As I suspected, this is something extraordinary. You must go speak to Maelin at once. It has been many moons since I have entered the Plane of Knowledge. He may well have some new information for me. Go at once and tell him I sent you.'

You receive an invisible flag for completing the previous step. Now go to the Plane of Knowledge and speak with Grand Librarian Maelin.

You say, 'Jeb Lumsed sent me.'

Grand Librarian Maelin says 'This is from Jeb, you say? I will set my best researchers on it at once. We have recently made some discoveries that he should be aware of. Here, take this note down to Lobaen, she will retrieve them for you.'

You receive a Note to Lobaen. She's a dryad selling spells elsewhere in the Library at -85, +1060, -60. Give her the note.

Illusionist Lobaen says 'It is not often that I receive a request from Maelin himself. Please, take these and be most careful.'

You receive Sealed Documents. Take these back to Jeb.

a sarnak imitator says 'Interesting indeed. I see that I was not wrong in my instinct to begin this as quickly as possible. I have created a list of the items that you will need to begin the construction of this tool. Mind you, it will not be a simple thing. When you have gathered them all return to me. Would you like a chest to carry them in?'

He gives you a book called Assembling the Staff, which lists the components required. If you say, "I would like a chest," he will give you an Ornate Staff Chest. The text of the book is as follows:

Gold Filigree: This is needed to bind the staff. Last I heard a strange sort of mermaid made off with it. The hand of Marr may cleanse it.

Staff Section: This was shattered by Mayong's rage. I do believe something from his castle may in fact entice the one who holds it into speaking.

Staff Section: A strange scarab scampered off with this piece, seek him in the caves.

Staff Section: This was broken in a mountain pass.

Staff Section: The warcaller claimed this one long ago.

Staff Crown: A misguided siren mistakes it for a crown.

Incandescent Oil: This is needed to anoint the staff. First create a glowing concoction of moonwater, magic, light, and that which glows. Take this glowing concoction and brew it with a greasy sort of oil, oil of a dragon, and some dye.

All-Seeing Eye: You could also call him the eye of Bristlebane.

Gold Filigree

Kill an enticing potameid at -845, +1560 in Natimbi and loot the Sullied Gold Filigree. Take this filigree to Anthone Chapin in the right basement of the Halls of Honor (top of the map), a.k.a. Rydda Dar's basement. Pacify or kill the two guards nearby.

You say, 'Hail, Anthone Chapin'

Anthone Chapin says 'Mithaniel Marr himself has entrusted me with the power to purge taint from the most desecrated of objects.'

Give him the filigree.

Anthone Chapin says 'This filigree now shines from within with the holy light of Marr.'

You receive a Purified Gold Filigree.

Staff Section 1

Go to Mistmoore's Castle. Zone in invisible, and follow the tunnel around to the graveyard. Enter the graveyard and the building within. Fall through the floor at the front of the casket. Go up the ramp or stairs (can't remember which) to a room with four doors. Open the door to your right. It should open and be a fake wall. If it doesn't, it's the wrong door. If it is the correct door, directly to its left is a secret passage. Enter the secret passage and go up and up and up till you get as high as you can in the tower. If you have not seen the lift, you need to look up and click the piece of wood. A fruit called the Taste of Enticement spawns on the table in the same room as the Dark Huntress. It looks like a blue mushroom on the table. Take this fruit and go to the seventh floor of the Tower of Frozen Shadow, a.k.a. Tserrina's floor. If you use the master key, you'll be in a room full of mirrors. Just outside of this room is the Advisor Svartmane, whom you must charm. If you are careful, you can open the door without him aggroing, especially since he does not see invis. Charm him and hand him the fruit.

Advisor Svartmane says 'I can't . . I . . .of course, I do not think that Tserrina has any need for this. I can't imagine that she would miss it at all. Please, take it.'

He will give you the 1st Piece of the Staff. This part is soloable, but has killed many enchanters. Take along a pal for safety and stack runes on yourself.

Staff Section 2

The 2nd Piece of the Staff drops from the yrendan scarab, a rare spawn in the Plane of Justice at approximately -1300, -850.

Staff Section 3

The 3rd Piece of the Staff drops from any named in the Vxed trial.

Staff Section 4

The 4th Piece of the Staff drops off of War Caller Kaavi in the Bloodfields. To get to her area, you jump off the bridge port in area and follow the wall south west. When I went to do her, someone had clearly failed her. She was already targetable. We pulled 2 of her guardians (Sentry of Kaavi), and killed them. They easily mez/slow and are very much overcons. Then we pulled her and two more of her guardians. Mezzed the guardians and killed her. Her aggro is a little awkward but killed her easily enough. I took the same raid force for all major mobs. So we killed this mob with about 19 people. It was easily overkill.

Staff Crown

Faleniel of Darkwater spawns in Sirens Grotto. The easiest method to get to her is to teleport to Cobalt Scar, zone into Sirens Grotto, then evac/succor across the zone. Run to the well invised and drop down into her room. Nothing sees invis. You can get killed if your raid group can't stay invis.

She is perma-rooted, has many easily killed friends who may or may not heal her, and casts two AEs: Ice Rain and Drowning Panic. She can hit for 2k, and is difficult if not impossible to slow. She drops an Ornate Staff Topper. After you loot it, a chest may spawn with additional loot.

Incandescent Oil

Combine Abysmal Moonwater (found on the bottom of the Abysmal Sea at +485, +70), a Vial of Purified Mana, Essence of Sunlight (dropped in various old world zones), and Glow Lichen (foraged in Nektulos Forest) in a brew barrel to craft a Glowing Concoction, < 133 trivial, trivial needed).

Next kill the untrackable "a greasy clockwork" in the Plane of Innovation. From zone-in, turn left and follow the path to the four-way intersection. Turn left and you cannot miss it if it's up. It hits in the 1800's, AE rampages, and has an AE called Blinding Smog. The fight is apparently very similar to the one with the Junk Beast. It drops Glimmering Oil. After you loot the Glimmering Oil, a chest may spawn with additional loot.

Combine Glowing Concoction, Glimmering Oil, Dragon Egg Oil, and Prismatic Dye (not a Vial of Prismatic Dye) in a brew barrel to craft Incandescent Oil (< 133 trivial, trivial needed).

All-Seeing Eye

This is literally the All-Seeing Eye that spawns in the middle of the Plane of Mischief hedge maze. It is not perma-rooted, looks like a giant beholder, and hits for around 2k. Bring a raid force. Slow is difficult but possible to land, while cripple and weakness are more difficult. Strangle landed fine. It has an estimated one million HPs. Has single-target rampage and procs Gaze of the All-Seeing Eye. Once it's dead, loot the All-Seeing Eye. A chest may spawn with additional loot.

Hand-in

Combine the Purified Gold Filigree, 1st-4th Pieces of the Staff, Ornate Staff Topper, Incandescent Oil, and All-Seeing Eye in the Ornate Staff Chest to craft a Latched Ornate Chest. Give this to Jeb.

a sarnak imitator says 'You have done well, my student. The staff is now complete. In order to stand up to the true fury of discord, it will need purifying, but even in this state it shall protect you well.'

You receive the Oculus of Persuasion, a.k.a. Enchanter Epic 1.5. Reward: Oculus of Persuasion

Enchanter Epic 2.0: Staff of Eternal Eloquence (Normal): If you have the Oculus of Persuasion (enchanter epic 1.5), find "a sarnak imitator," a.k.a. Jeb Lumsed, in the Burning Woods at -1200, -4000. When you received your Oculus of Persuasion, he talked about purifying it.

You say, 'Purifying?'

a sarnak imitator says 'The purification is not something that I alone have the power to complete. There was once a crystal that held the power to purify something of this magnitude, however it was shattered long ago. You will need to speak to the masters that remain of dwindling races.'

You say, 'What dwindling races?'

a sarnak imitator says 'The masters are of races that walked Norrath before you or I. I do not know their current whereabouts. Alaurin and Vohnkare were the eldest of the four. There was a noble . . Ah, yes and Feyana. I do hope you find them.'

"Alaurin"

Alaurin is a named unicorn that may be found in the Wakening Land north of the Plane of Growth near the northern zone wall at -1030, +1715.

You say, 'Hail, Alaurin'

Alaurin says 'Hello, coercer. Why have you disturbed me?'

You say, 'I seek a crystal.'

Alaurin says 'My crystal, you say? Now that is something I hold very dear. It is my most beautiful trinket. I must say, I've never had occasion to use it however . . . Actually, I believe I can make you a deal.'

You say, 'What deal?'

Alaurin says 'I know of a stone that I could use in its stead, but before we go into that I must ask something of you. If you truly desire this piece of crystal, you must bring me the heart of a twisted stoneservant. I have heard stories of invaders that have infested this newly found continent of Taelosia, where they have managed to turn their very servants against them. This sort of utter control is very interesting to me, and I would like to study it. Once I have the heart, I know where you can find a gem to replace my crystal.'

The Heart of a Twisted Stoneservant drops in Riwwi from a twisted stoneservant. Bring it back to Alaurin.

Alaurin says 'How very interesting. There is a geonid of great beauty that I have seen nearby in the caves. I have coveted its shining gem for some time. Destroy it and bring me the stone and I shall let you have your fragment.'
You gain party experience!!

"a luminescent geonid" spawns in the westernmost cave of the geonid caves at -2500, 0. It rampages, flurries, enrages, has a stone grip that stuns, and hits casters for a max of 2564, while tanks got hit for 1400. He has normal magical immunity, but shaman and enchanter slows landed the first time without tashing. Kill it and loot a Luminescent Crystal. Give this to Alaurin.

Alaurin says 'It is even more beautiful from up close. Look at the way it sparkles! Take your fragment then, and leave me in peace.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Purifying Crystal Fragment.

"Vohnkare"

Vohnkare is a dragon found in the Western Wastes at +775, -2470.

You say, 'Hail, Vohnkare'

Vohnkare says 'What do you seek mortal?'

You say, 'I seek a crystal.'

Vohnkare says 'Such great power for such a small being. I see that you are strong despite your size, however I fear for our world as I see such potent tools coming together. I fear a great battle is upon us. Enough of my rambling, I do have such a crystal. Bring me some volatile vampyre blood from the Tenebrous Mountains and I will part with it. It has been too long since I have had servants to fetch me such things.'

The Volatile Vampyre Blood comes from A Coterie Insatiate in the Tenebrous Mountains. It casts Vampyre Invisibility, hits for a max of 400, has approximately 24.5k HPs, is invulnerable to melee, and is not resistant to disease- or magic-based attacks. Give the blood to Vohnkare.

Vohnkare says 'This will do quite nicely. Are you aware of the properties of vampyre blood? It can make such lovely protective concoctions. Why, I once fended off . . . There I go again. Here is your crystal, make haste!'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Purifying Crystal Fragment.

"A noble"

"a brownie noble" may be found just north of the Lesser Faydark brownie camp.

You say, 'Hail, a brownie noble'

a brownie noble says, 'Long time have your kind needed us, but never have we been close. Wouldn't you agree? I'm afraid I cannot help you without some token of faith.'

You say, 'What token of faith?'

a brownie noble says, 'So long have we retained our distance, we have nearly been forgotten. Despite the fact that this allows us our peace, there are times I wish I could provide my people with the niceties of society. If you could obtain a few items for me I could help you with the knowledge you seek.'

You say, 'What items?'

a brownie noble says 'I would very much like some Gnomish Candy, Koada'Dal Silk, Feir'Dal Champagne, and Dwarven Steel.'

"Clockwork Merchant" at +1120, -1035 in Ak`Anon sells the Gnomish Candy. Merchant Tyslin at -250, -425 in Felwithe sells the Koada`Dal Silk. Innkeep Anisyla at +105, -435 in Kelethin (in the Greater Faydark) sells the Feir`Dal Champagne. Gretta Mottle at +185, +300 in South Kaladim sells the Dwarven Steel. Each NPC can be found via the Find (Ctrl-F) key, and each item sells for 131 p 2 g 4 s 9 c at maximum charisma. Bring the items back to the noble.

a brownie noble says 'Perhaps your intentions are true, after all. I have one shard of a purifying crystal that you will need for the task ahead of you. It is quite powerful, and I hate to part with it. I will give it to you, but only in trade. There is a harnessing stone possessed by a seeker in Kael. It is less powerful than the crystal, but should prove sufficient for my needs. Bring me this crystal and it shall be yours.'

Kill Miriku the Chaotic in Kael (behind Derakor the Vindicator). He hits for around 440 and is immune to magic spells, including slow. Loot the Harnessing Stone and bring it back to the noble.

a brownie noble says 'Very well, here is the fragment. I can only imagine at the power of the unified crystal.'

You receive a Purifying Crystal Fragment.

"Feyana"

Feyana Lightwing is a faerie in the Greater Faydark, who may be found roaming the path between Crushbone and the Butcherblock Mountains. She is trackable.

You say, 'Hail, Feyana Lightwing'

Feyana Lightwing says 'Greetings. It is not often that your kind has reason to speak to us. You must be seeking something.'

You say, 'I seek a crystal.'

Feyana Lightwing says 'To even be aware of the crystal's existence you must be of some power. I can only assume that if you are repairing it that you have good reason. It is yours if you can do me one small favor.'

You say, 'What small favor?'

Feyana Lightwing says 'There is a Dryad that has something that belongs to me. There is no rift between our kind, however you could say this is more of a personal conflict. You see, I was once given a necklace from their people in return for a service provided long ago. It was the most beautiful Dryad necklace I have ever seen, and it was stolen. I believe the culprit's name is Firwyn. Travel to the Jaggedpine Forest and seek out Chef Brargus, he should know where to find her. If you can bring me back the necklace the fragment is yours.'

Go talk to Chef Brargus in Jaggedpine Forest at -1100, +3510.

You say, 'Hail, Chef Brargus'

Chef Brargus says 'Whatchoo want?'

You say, 'Where is Firwyn?'

Chef Brargus says 'Ah, talked to Feyana did you? I'm surprised she trusted the likes of you with something like this. I suppose it's no loss to her if you just wind up dead now is it? If you want to know where to find Firwyn you're going to have to bring me some mountain pooka meat. I'm working on a new recipe and I simply must have it. Off with you.'

Mountain Pooka Meat drops from pookas in Vxed and is LORE and NO TRADE. Give him one.

Chef Brargus says 'That should do nicely. Now, about Firwyn. You should be able to find her in the forest nearby but I would be careful if I were you. She can be a bit feisty, and you don't exactly look like a warrior if you know what I mean.'

Firwyn spawns at what seems to be a random tree. Confirmed locations are +130, -360 and -33, -369. Firwyn hits for around 1700, and procs Shackleroot and Decaying Foliage. Loot a Dryad Necklace and bring it back to Feyana Lightwing.

Feyana Lightwing says, 'Even lovelier than I remembered. Thank you ever so much.'

You receive a Purifying Crystal Fragment.

Purifying the Oculus

In a Jeweler's Kit, combine the four Purifying Crystal Fragments to craft a Purifying Crystal (the fragments have no identifying features, but, since they're LORE, you can only have one of each). Next, combine your Oculus of Persuasion with the Purifying Crystal in a Jeweler's Kit (no-fail).

Your Oculus of Persuasion gleams with a blinding light for a moment, dimming quickly to its previous understated beauty. The light has left an image burned into your mind, a strangely tattooed woman chanting by a waterfall.

You get the Oculus of Persuasion back and an invisible flag. The "strangely tattooed woman chanting by a waterfall" is Priestess Rahku, found in Nedaria's Landing.

You say, 'Hail, Priestess Rahku'

Priestess Rakhu says 'I have been expecting you. There are still a few things more for you to do before the staff is properly prepared. For the next step you will need to travel into Discord and gather two items that I need to perform the next step in the purification process. A great beast by the name of Cipheron has hoarded an incantation for many years. I believe he killed one of our students who was unfortunate enough to get in his way... Reguardless, I will need it. You will also need to gather a noxious secretion from a withering murkglider. It is a strange fluid they begin to secrete as they are dying, and it is very powerful. Bring me this incantation and the secretion and we shall get started.'

Cipheron is a raid encounter found near the Wall of Slaughter. This named bazu on the Noble's Causeway side of the big wall drops a Tattered Incantation. After you loot it, a chest can spawn with additional loot.

Head to Noble's Causeway (raid in hand) and kill Withering Murkglider for the noxious secretion, after which a chest can spawn with additional loot. Location of Withering Murkglider is -1370, +1016, +255. The murkglider appears to be dead, but is not. It sees invis, hits for 2k+, and spawns mezzable parasitic murkglider adds. Be warned: When these adds die they cast Energy Burst (remember Manaetic Behemoth? An unresistable AE for 4k).

Bring the secretion and incantation to Priestess Rakhu:

Priestess Rakhu murmurs in a strange tongue as she scans the incantation. She draws an intricate design along different portions of the staff, using the strange secretion, from which rises a pale green smoke. At last she stops and opens her eyes. 'Perfect. This tool has been consecrated and protected in the best way I know. There is but one thing left to do, for the staff is ready but not yet tested. Take this channeling crystal and venture into the land riddled with discord. When you encounter great evil there, you will recognize the energy of discord. Channel this energy into your staff, and it will become something more powerful than this world has seen. I wish you luck.'

You must have access to Citadel of Anguish for the next step. Access is obtained via this quest.

For the globe of discordant energy, you will need to pass the six raid trials of the Muramite Proving Grounds and proceed into the Citadel of Anguish. In there, kill Warden Hanvar to spawn an Orb of Discordant Energy, or kill Arch Magus Vangl, or kill Overlord Mata Muram, or finish Jelvan's ring event to spawn Jelvan`s Keepsake, inside which you will find the globe.

Inside the Channeling Crystal, combine this globe with your Epic 1.5 (remove augmentations first!). This results in 10 AA points, grants access to the title "Illusionist," and produces your Epic 2.0.

The discordant energy shoots through the staff, sending a shower of sparks through the air. The crystal shatters before you, and as the sparks fade away you notice the changes in your staff.

You receive the Staff of Eternal Eloquence. Reward: Staff of Eternal Eloquence

Enchanter Epic: Staff of the Serpent (Normal): Jeb Lumsed is in the form of a sarnak imitator in the Burning Woods at -1200, -4000. He is not always around, and killing the nearby Sarnaks may help him appear.

You say, 'Are you Jeb Lumsed?'

a sarnak imitator says 'Yes I am. Use your most enlightened magic to seek the truth of what is around you. When that is done, you will know what you seek.'

You need to have completed the quest which Stofo Olan has, for a copy of his research notes.

Give the Copy of Notes to Jeb Lumsed.

a sarnak imitator says 'I see that you have what I was waiting for. Stofo does do excellent work. It seems that you are to start on a long journey. Take this seal and it will guide you on your next step. Seek out the masters of enchantment. In time we will craft the Serpent for you. When you have collected the four parts of the staff, you must combine them in a bundle for me. If you need a sack, just let me know.'

You receive a coin called Jeb's Seal.

You say, 'I need a sack'

a sarnak imitator says 'Take this sack and combine the items I requested in it. Then return it to me.'

You receive an enchanter's sack. NOTE: You may have to give him the seal in order to receive an Enchanters Sack.

You say, 'What serpent?'

a sarnak imitator says 'The first truly powerful enchanter, Krilan Pedin, crafted the Serpent years ago. He trained his students to carry on the trade in a five-step process. Each student then became a master and chose one of their own students to pass the legacy on to. Four others and I, myself, are current practitioners of the crafting.'

You say, 'Who are the four other masters?'

a sarnak imitator says 'The masters are enchanters who have reached the plateau of understanding. Their names are Modani Qu'Loni, Mizzle Gepple, Nadia Starfeast, and Polzin Mrid. All are master crafters in their own right.'

You say, 'Who is Modani?'

a sarnak imitator says 'Modani is a master of illusions. You should seek him out first. Keep a careful eye out for him - he is never in his true form. The last time I spoke to him, he seemed very excited about his voyage to the elven outpost. You may or may not find more clues about his location there.'

Modani will give you the Test of Illusions.

You say, 'Who is Mizzle?'

a sarnak imitator says 'Mizzle is a gnome who has mastered the use of enlightened magic. Go to him once you have spoken to Modani. Mizzle is not one to travel, so you should not have to look far from his home to find him.'

Mizzle will give you the Test of Enlightenment.

You say, 'Who is Nadia?'

a sarnak imitator says 'The mistress of charm, Nadia is very beautiful. She, too, traveled with her relatives to the new land. I just recently received a letter from her. She says more and more pilgrims and explorers are arriving every day, and that the outpost is well defended now.'

Nadia will give you the Test of Charm.

You say, 'Who is Polzin?'

a sarnak imitator says 'Master of the Phantasms - he is the last one you will seek out. Hmm...Polzin is native to Erudin, however, after the incident near Paineel, no one has heard from him. I hope that he is well.'

Polzin will give you the Test of Phantasm.

Combine the four items in the sack provided to craft "A Bundle of Staves." Give this to Jeb to receive the Staff of the Serpent. Reward: Staff of the Serpent

Entalon's Quest (Normal): Charm the dragon Entalon, then:

You say, 'Hail, Entalon'

He will smile with a wide grin. "You are quite brave to approach me and speak. On any other day, I would not give you the opportunity. Fortunately for you, I am preoccupied with my master's quest."

You say, 'What is your master's quest?'

Entalon says 'I have but a small task, to find the scribblings of Jarldyn. A Fier'Dal has stolen them. The scribblings will be illegible, but they must be returned to my master who rightfully won them in battle. If you find them, bring them to me with an emerald plume and I will grant you an audience with my master. Be forewarned, it may be a one-way trip.'

Hand in the Scribblings (they identify as "Sorcerer Scribblings"), which are dropped by the rare spawn wood elf version of "a pilgrim" in Firiona Vie, and a Stoneleer Emerald Plume, dropped by "a stoneleer cockatrice."

Entalon says 'You shall see my master when I have Jarldyn's scribblings and an emerald plume.'

Entalon says 'Ha ha ha!! Fool! I have what I need. Now you are granted an audience with a noble sarnak lord, not my master. I am quite sure he shall do away with you. Ha ha ha!!

You gain experience!!

You are teleported to see Atheling Plague.

Need all dialogues, /loc of Entalon, /loc of Atheling Plague, faction hits if any, quest reward(s).
Medallion of the Obulus (Normal): This quest results in the Medallion of the Obulus, which is one of three medallions needed for the Rune of Scale Quest to get into Veeshan's Peak. Slixin Klex is located at -681.59, -1120.76, -559.74. He is a level 50 skeleton and is indifferent to both good and evil races. Ask him "what burning of the land?". Slixin Klex says 'Fiery death from the sky. Rock and fire burning our lands. Death and destruction splintering our tribe. Once strong we were but the fiery rocks from the sky crushed our proud cities and weakened our tribe." Ask him "what tribe" and Slixin Klex says "Obulus was our peoples. The hills and trees were our lands. We tamed the dark and wilds and bent the forests to our needs. But all is gone, all our peoples, all our works, even the medallion that was the symbol of our power. Ask him "what medallion" and Slixin Klex says 'Medallion of the Obulus. Symbol of our proud peoples. Broken into pieces long lost to the dark forests now. I know where they are now but I am no longer flesh. If I were I would find them to bring them back together." Ask him "what pieces?" and Slixin Klex says 'Hhhhh. Three pieces there are. One sits in the hands of Sselot though he knows its purpose not. Another sits upon an iksar ghost in Trakanons. The last is held by a long rotted iksar skeleton in the Dreadlands. Bring them all here and I may be able to unite them again. Perhaps this will even free me from my torment… or not. Remember that there are three separate medallions in the game, each broken into three peices that just say a piece of broken medallion when you find it. You need to identify the piece of medallion you find to determine which one it is.

These are the locations:

(1) Middle Portion: Drops off a rotting skeleton at approximately loc 2250, -5140 in the Dreadlands (7 minute static spawn);

(2) Bottom Portion: Dropped by the Pained Soul in Trakanon's Teeth, Near the entrance to Old Sebilis;

(3) Upper Portion: Given to you by Ssolet Dnaas, who spawns in the island in Warsliks Woods. You must do the Burnished Wooden Staff quest to get it.

Need all dialogues, faction hits if any, /loc of other quest mobs. Reward: Medallion of the Obulus

Ranger Epic: Swiftwind and Earthcaller (Normal): Speak to Telin Darkforest in the Burning Woods. He is located near the Skyfire zone. If your faction isn't high enough with him (halflings don't start with enough faction), you'll need to improve it. An easy way to raise faction is by completing the Muffin for Pandos quest (a bunch of times).

You say, 'Hail, Telin Darkforest'

Telin Darkforest looks at you serenely. 'Hello, wanderer.'

You say, 'What are you doing in this forest?'

Telin Darkforest says 'Mighty this place must have been, once. Now scarred by hatred and suffering. I have been sent here seeking answers to problems not yet understood.

You say, 'What answers?'

Telin Darkforest considers you for a few moments before speaking. 'A great evil walks across the land. The hand of some demon we don't yet know is twisting and polluting forests.'

You say, 'What evil?'

Telin Darkforest says 'If I knew that, I wouldn't be here looking for answers. I would be elsewhere, looking for solutions. For now, I suspect much but know little.

You say, 'Perhaps it is Innoruuk'

Telin Darkforest raises his eyebrow slightly and a subtle look of surprise creeps across his face. 'Innoruuk? Perhaps. Aye. It must be. Perhaps I knew and didn't want to consider the possibility. It must be this though, and some action will have to be taken.'

You say, 'What action should I take?'

Telin Darkforest gives you a "Worn Note" which you need to take to Faelin Bloodbriar in Greater Faydark.

Faelin roams around Greater Faydark and has an Orc Pawn as her PH. Their spawn point is at loc +1500, +500.

Faelin Bloodbriar reads the note carefully and growls to herself. 'Bad news, eh? Take this ring. There is one elf, dark elf even, who we must go to in order to gather insight into Innoruuk's plans. Giz X'Tin, he goes by most commonly. Kithacor seems to be his favorite haunt and most likely you will find him there. Don't ask how I know him. Just take the ring as my sign to him and he will speak to you. We don't need to speak again, so don't seek me out, just go to Telin. I must leave to investigate these events.'

Faelin Bloodbriar gives you "Faelins Ring" to take to take to Giz X'Tin, who is located in Kithicor Forest.

Teir`Dal Reaver says 'Lord Innoruuk, I have failed you. Forgive me and spare me from service to your undead minions in the world!

Giz X'Tin gives you a "Dark Metal Coin."

A Teir`Dal Reaver will spawn when you get the Dark Metal Coin however you do not need to kill it.

Head back to the Burning Woods and give the coin to Telin.

Telin Darkforest gives you a "Worn Dark Metal Coin" to take to Althele in East Karana.

You say, 'Hail, Althele'

Althele says 'Hello, friend. Beautiful is what I would call such a day normally, but lately? I sense that something is [out of balance].'

You say, 'Out of balance?'

Althele says 'I sense something foreboding, young one, but you should think nothing of it. The sons and daughters of nature will be able to deal with this problem.'

Give the coin to Althele.

Althele gives you a "Braided Grass Amulet" to take to Sionae.

You say, 'Hail, Tholris'

Tholris stares in contemplation at the landscape.

Althele says 'Tholris does not speak much. He is here to assist me in my duties. He is my hands, as Fang is my eyes.

Fang barks in response to Althele's words.

You say, 'Why do you need him as your hands and Fang as your eyes?'

Althele says 'Yes. I cannot see any longer, my sight long since lost in the march of years. By the blessings of Tunare and Karana, though, I still make myself useful.

Sionae spawns after you get the Braided Grass Amulet.

Give the amulet to Sionae.

Sionae says 'I see that the time has come. Take the amulet and give it to the third of our kin, Nuien. I will meet you at the gathering.

Sionae gives you a "Frayed Braided Grass Amulet" to take to Nuien.

Give the amulet to Nuien.

Nuien says 'So be it. Do as you have done before and find the next. Teloa is the last.

Nuien gives the "Frayed Braided Grass Amulet" back to you, and Teloa spawns near the waterfall.

Give the amulet to Teloa.

Teloa begins walking toward the gathering spot. 'Follow me to the gathering now.'

Follow Teloa back to where Althele is, which is where the druids are gathering. You will not have the amulet at this point as she does not return it to you.

Althele says 'Great mother of life and father of sky, growth and spirit, Tunare and Karana. Innoruuk once again schemes and we have failed in our duties to protect our land. We give our powers in sacrifice for your help. Heed our call and send us your wisdom.
Althele snaps her head towards you. 'Innoruuk's brood is upon us. Go, find the spawn of hatred before they reach this point and destroy them!'

Dark Elf Corruptor and two Dark Elf Reavers spawn. You need only the Corruptor and loot the Fleshbound Tome.

Dark Elf Corruptor shouts 'We come for you, fools. Your reign of weakness over the powers of the land comes to an end now!

It is not necessary to kill the two Reavers but if you don't, they'll wander to the druids and kill them. Allowing this to happen will waste your time, as you need to hand the "Fleshbound Tome" you looted off the Corruptor into Althele.

Althele hands the book to Tholris who reads through it with lines of concern etched on his face, then whispers into her ear. 'Dire news, indeed. This cannot be allowed. I must keep this book but you must not allow Innoruuk, to seed the land with his hatred and filth. You have only just begun your quest. The path you are guided upon will be difficult, if not impossible, but someone must finish it. Please, take this, read of it, follow its instructions. Tunare bless your path and Karana watch over you.'

Althele gives you the "Earth Stained Note" and the druids despawn.

'We cannot speak again. Our circle is now known and must seek sanctuary. In case this note were to fall into others' hands. I cannot tell you plainly the next steps of your task. All I can say is to seek she who walks the path of the mother, she who walks the lands in service to her kin. Give her this note and she will know.'

Head to Misty Thicket and find Ella Foodcrafter. She wanders the path near Rivervale and won't be hard to track down.

You say, 'Hail, Ella Foodcrafter'

Ella Foodcrafter says 'Hi, hi. I've got a lot to do, many mouths to feed, some filthy goblins to smack. If you don't need me for something, please let me go back to my work. Karana watch over you.'

Give the Earth Stained Note to her.

Keep it when you're done, it's a good bowl.'

Ella Foodcrafter gives you a "Shiny Tin Bowl" which identifies as Ellas Reflective Tin Bowl to create the Hardened Mixture.

Now, you will need to forage:

Chilled Tundra Root in Everfrost.
Ripened Heartfruit in Greater Faydark.
Speckled Molded Mushroom in Innothule Swamp.
Sweetened Mudroot in Misty Thicket.

Combine these four items in the Shiny Tin Bowl to get a "Hardened Mixture." Don't destroy the tin bowl, as you'll need it later in the quest.

Seek out Alrik Farsight who roams near the chessboard in Timorous Deep. He is on Keepers of the Art faction. You will need to be at least amiable to him in order for him to speak to you. It may be raised by doing a bat wing turn in quest described here.

You say, 'I seek an ancient type of bowl made by the elves of old.'

If you wish, you can take the artifact and return with the receipt and I will give you the pattern.'

You say, 'I will take the artifact.'

Alrik Farsight says 'Hah! Okay then. Here take this to Farios Elianos in Felwithe. He will give you the Receipt.

Alrik Farsight gives you "Crushed Pot" to give to Farios Elianos in Southern Felwithe.

Farios Elianos says, 'Why in the nine hells would I need a crushed pot? Perhaps I could use it to not hold water! Why did you even bother me with this? Are you mentally deficient? Apparently. Oh, well, you're just a servant boy. Well, then, we'll make you useful, if just a little. Take this shopping list and go get my groceries. Take it to Nora in the tavern. She'll know what I need.'

Farios Elianos gives you a "Grocery List" to give to Merchant Nora.

Merchant Nora says 'You hardly look like the type of errand runner Farios usually sends out to fetch his groceries but here they are. I hope he chokes on them. Oh, and tell him he still owes me five gold for his last order!

Merchant Nora gives you a "Bag of Provisions" to take to Farios Elianos.

Take the bag of Provisions back to Farios Elianos and give it to him.

Farios Elianos says 'Ah, good. Here's a few copper and a receipt for services rendered. Now be off, I'm sure citizens across the land are in dire need of broken pots at right this moment.

Farios Elianos gives you a "Receipt" to take to Alrik Farsight.

Go back to Alrik Farsight and give him the Receipt.

You receive an "Ancient Pattern."

Go to Firiona Vie in Kunark and forage a "Rose of Firiona."

Now head to Merdan Fleetfoot in Surefall Glade:

Give Merdan Fleetfoot a Rose of Firiona.

Merdan Fleetfoot gives you a "Wood Painting" to give to a Human Skeleton in Frontier Mountains.

a human skeleton begins to crack and disintegrate, its body collapsing into a pile of dust that scatters into the winds. On the ground you notice a locket on a fine, thin chain which you pick up ("Silver Chained Locket").

Head back to Surefall and give the locket to Niera Farbreeze and she will give you "Platinum Speckled Powder."

Niera Farbreeze says 'This, this is my mother's amulet. I cannot believe it. Please, take this powder you say you need. Perhaps it does have powers, I don't know, I don't care. Thank you, my eternal thanks for this.

Seek out Kinlo Strongarm in Kaladim.

You say, 'What mud?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Eh? Oh, the clay. Arrr. Lots o that mud round 'ere. Mostly, a good dwarf not be needin somethin so soft 'n squishy but the womenfolk, you know, the elves come lookin fer it. If ye be one o' those pansy elves wantin some mud fer workin into fairy statues, flashy trinkets, 'n pig sticker arrers then I can get it for ye. Course I'd be lowerin meself, a good dwarf, ta be diggin that kinda mush outta the ground, but I can do it fer ya.

You say, 'Do it for me.'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Arrr. Shaddap. I ain't doin it til ya bring me something. A fee, I guess yed call it, fer lowerin meself ta elf woman work. Go get me a good strong axe and I'll do it fer ye. Mebbe somethin with a good tinted polish on it. I got plenty o' axes but no tinted ones. Har har! Colored axe. Something to go with the color left on the blade after I be crackin open a gobbo head.

He wants a Jade Reaver from the City of Mist.

Give Kinlo a Reaver, and he will give you Enchanted Clay.

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Arrrrr. Ooooo. Arrrrrr... Yah, now that's what I be callin a good lookin axe. I be crackin a few skulls with this one. Oh, here's yer block o' mud. Our priests o' Brell use the mud pit fer relievin themselves after really hard ale blessin ceremonies, so ya ain't got ta be enchantin it in holy water or anythin cause they already have. Har har!

Combine the Ancient Pattern, Enchanted Clay, and Platinum Speckled Powder in a Pottery Wheel to make a Runecrested Bowl, which identifies as "A meticulously decorated bowl." This requires no skill in pottery to do and any pottery wheel should work.

Head back to Misty Thicket and visit Ella Foodcrafter. Give her the Hardened Mixture and Runecrested Bowl.

The only advise I can give you is to look for ones such as yourself.'

Ella Foodcrafter gives you the "Softly Glowing Stone," which identifies as Left Half of Natures Balance.

Seek out Foloal Stormforest in Firiona Vie.

You say, 'What about venril sathir?'

Bring me the half of the stone I know you have and whatever conduit of power you find on his rotting corpse.

Locate Venril Sathir's Remains in Karnor's Castle. VSR spawns about 24 hours after the real Venril Sathir is killed.

Venril Sathir's Remains says 'The living fire. I seek the fires of life. Bring them.

Use the spell Dance of the Fireflies to summon a Firefly Globe. Give Venril Sathirs remains the Firefly Globe, which causes the Spirit of Venril Sathir to spawn.

Venril Sathir's Remains grasps the glowing sphere of fireflies from your hands. Tendrils of mystical energy begin to flow forth from the swarm of glowing insects like tiny fingers. The glowing tendrils begin to reach into the ribcage of the rotting remains of Venril Sathir, coalescing into the form of an Iksar ghost.

You say, 'Hail, Spirit of Venril Sathir'

Spirit of Venril Sathir says 'So mortals, you seek to end the tainting of Tunare's children? So be it, I have no cares. My death has been caused by this foolishness and I want no more to do with it. Bring me a scroll with the knowledge of resurrection so that I may once again live. I will hand you that which you seek.

Give the Spirit of Venril Sathir the cleric version of the Spell: Resurrection scroll.

Spirit of Venril Sathir says 'I am alive! My thanks to you. And now I will aid you in your quest for preserving the forests of norrath. Your carcass will help nurture the soils of the wilderness.

Venril Sathir respawns. Kill Venril Sathir to get the "Pulsing Green Stone," which identifies as Pulsing with a sickly light. This version of Venril Sathir should be easier to kill as I have been told that he does not Lifetap. He will drop two Pulsing Green Stones and nothing else.

Head back to Firiona and hand Foloal Stormforest the Pulsing Green Stone and Softly Glowing Stone.

Foloal Stormforest gives you the "Warmly Glowing Stone," that identifies as Natures Balance Completed.

Head to the Burning Woods and give Telin Darkforest the Warmly Glowing Stone.

Telin Darkforest nods as he unbuckles his sword and hands it to you. 'The storm callers are working on containing and fighting against the corruption but they can not hold back the inevitable for long. It is up to us to strike against Innoruuk directly. If we were warriors or paladins we would have a fancy ceremony and plenty of feasting but we're just rangers, without time for pleasantries. The sword you hold in your hands is one of the oldest blades known, even to the eldest. To strike at the darkest heart of evil requires a weapon beyond this, or even ones you may carry at your side. The first task, the first preparation you must make is the smithing of that blade. Its edge sharpened, its balance made perfect. When you have finished, bring me this sword again.

Telin gives you an "Ancient Longsword," which identifies as a "Finely Crafted Longsword."

Head back to Kinlo Strongarm in Kaladim and ask him about the ancient.

You say, 'What ancient?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'The ancient smiths, for what I think yer askin about, ain't been around fer a long time, laddy. Last anyone heard o' the ancients was 'fore my time even. There be more than a few tales about 'em.

You say, 'What few tales?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'There be some who talk about how the ancient smiths went down to work fer the duke o' below, sayin he be needin some fine dwarven smiths fer makin some castle or some such. There be tales that the ancients were so good at smithin that the duke took 'em down and made 'em head smiths over his minions. There's even tales that some o the smiths' souls were trapped in their hammers, stuck there by some necromancer or somethin, as punishment or retribution.

You say, 'What hammers?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Aye. Some says their souls were bound into their hammers by an Erudite necromancer and enchanter. They say they used the power of the hammers ta profit by makin ships, boats, and houses better than any other merchants. Sad tale, if'n it be true.

You say, 'What Erudite necromancer?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'I'm not knowin more about the story, lad. Everythin I know is already in what I said. Aye, Erudites. I suppose if yer wantin ta run after shortbeard tales ya can look over on that plague island they call Odus.

You say, 'What Erudite Enchanter?'

Kinlo Strongarm says 'I'm not knowing more about the story, lad. Everything I know is already in what I said. Aye, Erudites. I suppose if yer wantin ta run after shortbeard tales you can look over on that plagued island they call Odus.

Head to The Hole with a raid and make your way down toward Jaeil the Wretched. Jaeil is indifferent by default.

You say, 'Hail, Jaeil the Wretched'

Jaeil the Wretched whimpers pathetically as his reflection catches his eye. He turns and stares pitifully at the ceiling.

Jaeil the Wretched shields his eyes from his reflection in the water, occasionally gibbering as he scratches at a flapping, rotted patch of skin on his sunken face. In his arms he cradles something. He seems to emanate an aura of power.

Stand behind Jaeil the Wretched to make him indifferent to you, then give him the Shiny Tin Bowl so that he will see his reflection.

Jaeil the Wretched howls in anger, his body seeming to suck energy from the walls around him as he sees his reflection. He pulls a hammer from the bundle in his arms and swings fiercely at your head.

Jaeil the Insane spawns and attacks. Kill Jaeil the Insane and loot the "Soulbound Hammer," which identifies as Hammer of an ancient dwarf. Jaeil the Wretched used to remain there and could be chain triggered. Since the revamp of Old Paineel, he will poof once he receives the bowl.

Give the Soulbound Hammer to Kinlo Strongarm.

Kinlo Strongarm examines the hammer respectfully, admiring its craftsmanship. He strikes it against his anvil and winces as a howl fills the air. 'This is one of the ancients' hammers? I can almost, well, almost hear it callin ta me. It's strong, that's fer sure, lad. I don't know how ye got it, but aye, a dwarf could make a mighty blade with this. It's lookin like this thing still has its owner inside it though. I'm not knowin how, and not wantin to know, but fer yer own good ye better find some way ta get 'im out.'

Kinlo gives you back the "Soulbound Hammer," which identifies as Hammer of an ancient dwarf.

Off to Erudin Palace to find Mairee Silentone. Talk to her about an ancient hammer.

You say, 'What ancient hammer?'

Mairee Silentone says 'Yes, the ancient hammer. I heard something about that. Do you mind if I take a look at it?'

Give Mairee Silentone the "Soulbound Hammer," which identifies as Hammer of an ancient dwarf.

Mairee Silentone makes a few marks on the hammer, and all the while you can hear a muffled cursing coming from the hammer head. 'Yes, it is an ancient dwarf's hammer. Interesting artifact. I've marked it to keep it stable while you retrieve something for me. You need to travel to the Plane of Sky and find a swirling sphere of color. Bring it and the hammer back to me.'

Mairee Silentone gives you the "Dwarven Smiths Hammer," which identifies as Hammer of an ancient dwarf.

Head to Island Four of the Plane of Sky and kill an essence tamer which drops the Swirling Sphere of Color.

Give Mairee Silentone the Hammer and the Swirling Sphere of Color.

Mairee Silentone holds the sphere and makes intricate marks and patterns on it, eventually turning the entire crystal clear. She rolls it across the hammer, raising a ringing sound in the room. 'There. Now take the hammer back to Kinlo. He'll know what to do from here. Good luck to you .'

Mairee Silentone gives you the "Hammer of the Ancients," which identifies as Hammer of an ancient dwarf.

Back in Kaladim, hand Kinlo Strongarm the Hammer of the Ancients, which causes Usbak the Old to spawn.

Kinlo Strongarm looks at the hammer and nods once before slamming the head against his anvil, and shattering the head. In a cloud of dust, another dwarf appears from the cloud and tosses you a hunk of metal. Kinlo stares in awe.

Usbak the Old gives you "Small bit of Mithril Ore," which identifies as Small bit of Mithril Ore.

You say, 'Hail, Usbak the Old'

Usbak the Old says 'Took ya long enough! Ye'd think ya had an Orc head on them shoulders there. I'm owin' ya for yer help though. Else I'd have been on that darn hammer for ages. Ye said ya had an ancient blade or somethin ta be smithin. If so lemme see it.

Give Usbak the Old the Ancient Longsword and he gives you the "Refined Ancient Sword," which identifies as Sword to show Telin.

Usbak the Old admires the blade and then starts to bang the edge with a hammer. 'Hah, that was a good blade, no doubt. Ain't seen one I couldn't make better though. I'm knowin' yer cause and all I know is ye should take that ancient blade ta yer friend in the woods, he'll know what to do now. With that I'm gonna be takin muh leave. Debt paid and all. If'n yer wantin' another blade, which ye do, ye got enough ore left that Kinlo can do it for ye'

Usbak the Old despawns. Give the Small bit of Mithril Ore to Kinlo Stirngarm and he forges the "Refined Mithril Blade" for you.

Kinlo Strongarm says 'Erm. Well, I aint never worked with this stuff but here's what I got for ya. It ain't bad, pretty much like the one ye got there. I suppose ye should take the one the ancient made and show it ta yer friend.

Head to the Burning Woods again and give Telin Darkforest the Refined Ancient Sword. He returns the sword.

Telin Darkforest smiles slowly. 'Now that's fine work. Just a moment, we have a friend here who can enchant one of the blades. Give her the blade the ancient smithed.'

Faelin appears.

You say, 'Hail, Faelin'

Faelin says, 'Didn't think I was gone for good, did you? We're that much closer to finishing this trial of our strength, thanks to you.'

Give her the Refined Ancient Sword. She enchants it and returns it to you.

Faelin smiles at you, then closes her eyes as she sets the gem 'Nature's Balance' into the crossguard and begins to channel her spirit into the sword. The ground rumbles loudly as she casts. She collapses in exhaustion after a short time. 'Take the blade, and perhaps you can finish this. You must strike at Innoruuk's heart. Bring his shattered gem and the Mithril blade to Xanuusus. Only with Innoruuk's death can the balance of the land once again be restored. If we do not meet again, remember you always have my eternal thanks.'

This lands you the first half of the Ranger epic:

Now for the Earthcaller.

Head to the Plane of Hate in search of the "Shattered Emerald of Corruption." This item drops randomly off "mini bosses" (Grandmaster R'Tal and Coercer T'Vala confirmed) and frequently off Innoruuk himself.

Once you've obtained the emerald, find Xanuusus in North Karana.

You say, 'Hail, Xanuusus'

Xanuusus says 'Greetings, small one! I am Xanuusus of the Stormreapers. You are welcome to rest beneath my mighty branches.

Give Xanuusus the Refined Mithril Blade and the Shattered Emerald of Corruption.

Xanuusus waves his hands over the gem of corruption and a wave of warm energy passes through the area. With care for such a huge creature, he melds the gem into the sword and seems to glow all over as he channels energy into the weapon. 'Thus is the link of hate broken between Innoruuk and the spirit of earth. Through your will has balance returned. Your deeds, your work for the good of all, will be remembered by anyone who walks beneath the canopy of a forest or roams the plains. Continue your vigil over nature's balance.'
