Quests for Arcstone, Isle of Spirits

Access to the Theater of Blood/Plane of Music (Normal): Anyone at least 68th level is automatically granted the flag for the Theater of Blood (and the AA port that comes with it). The information here regards the ACTUAL flag, as it was prior to the minimum level requirement introduced. On progression servers, you will need to complete the chime in order to access the AoC instance.

Arch Mage Galsin may be found in a tent near the zone-in from West Freeport, at Loc: -180, +1465.

You say, 'Hail, Arch Mage Galsin'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'Ah another visitor to this place. It's always good to see a fresh face, particularly if that person has news of use to me. Tell me ______, have you heard of the [Plane of Music]?'

You say, 'What is the Plane of Music?'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'When I arrived in this place I discovered an ancient book which contained an amazing amount of knowledge lost to Norrath over the ages. One of the more interesting sections spoke of the Plane of Music. The wonders described within that plane are almost beyond belief. I must see them for myself. The problem I'm confronted with is how exactly to enter the plane. The book has a small amount of [information] in that regard, but it's not the most heartening news.'

You say, 'What information?'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'According to the book entry to the plane could only be accomplished by sounding a certain pure tone. This tone is normally impossible for mere mortals to generate, but there were chimes created that, when struck, would sound this tone and transport the bearer to the plane. Unfortunately the book also mentions that all of the known chimes were destroyed by Sullon Zek in a fit of rage. Apparently she took offense to a light hearted song of some sort written by Ayonae Ro. After reading that I began focusing my search on in a new [direction].'

You say, 'What new direction?'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'I have spoken with others on this subject prior to your arrival. Many of them agreed to pass on any news or rumors they heard to me. Recently one of these people told me of a scrykin named Ao the Fourth Born. From what I've been told he is seeking a book written by Druzzil Ro herself. It is my hope that this book has information that might provide an alternate route into the plane. If you wish to help in my research seek out Ao and see what you can discover.'

Seek out the Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born at Loc: + 196, - 962. Follow the dialogues with him and complete the three tasks in the Skylance story arc:

The Library
The Oubliette
The Laboratory

...to receive a Tarnished Chime.

Give the Tarnished Chime to Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born to receive Harmonic Chime, which needs to be given to Arch Mage Galsin.

Head back to Arch Mage Galsin.

You say, 'Hail, Arch Mage Galsin'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'Is that. . . ? You found a Chime?!? Let me see it!'

Hand in the Harmonic Chime.

Arch Mage Galsin says 'Unbelievable, I was sure none of the chimes had survived Sullon's wrath. This is a fascinating artifact, I've never seen anything like it.' Galsin taps the chime with a small hammer and stares in amazement when no sound is created. 'But the chime. . . This must be the one. It can only mean there is some truth to the [whispers] I have been hearing.'

You say, 'What whispers?'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'There have been rumors amongst the residents of this plane of a terrible disaster in the Plane of Music. Some unknown force has closed the plane off from all outside influences and by all implications begun to corrupt its very nature. The failure of this chime must mean that this corruption has reached a point where the purity of this note will no longer transport you. If this is true then there must be a way of modifying the chime to account for the corruption. The idea of modifying the chime does have [complications] associated with it though.'

You say, 'What complications?'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'The material of this chime is, as far as I can tell, of divine origins. There are few forces that would be able to modify or harm it in any way. There is a possibility though. . . yes. . . the opening of the Plane of Rage must have been a message. Sullon Zek was able to destroy the chimes, so her magic must be able to affect this material. If you were able to find someone on her plane to help they may be able to modify the chime as needed. Go there and inquire about the chime with any that would speak with you. Perhaps the chime will prove to be our key to the Plane of Music after all.'

You get a Silent Harmonic Chime. Talk to Oathmir the Outcast in The Devastation.

You say, 'Can you tell me about the chime?'

Oathmir the Outcast says 'Give me this chime of yours and I shall see if I can understand what you seek.'

Give him the Silent Harmonic Charm.

Oathmir the Outcast says, 'Our people know some earth magic, and I might be able to work on this chime for you, but I must ask for your help first. I am lost, but I feel that I have a purpose here. It is difficult to explain to someone that has never been part of the cycle what it is like to be taken from it. I have lost all rage and have been left with emptiness. I no longer feel the desire to be with Her in the tower. I felt the rage leaving me slowly from the moment I was chosen as Vessel. She touched me then, instilling me with her rage, but it did not feel right to me. It was somehow tainted, impure. I could not accept it and the moment I rejected her rage all of my rage started to flow away from me. Something is very wrong with our goddess. Her rage is no longer pure, though it may be my own heart that is corrupt. Perhaps you can find out what has happened. Perhaps you can get into the tower and find out what has gone wrong.'

You get the chime back. In order to get into the tower, you need to complete the keying quests with Maelin:

Saga Skins
Preparing Your New Skins
Become the Vessel

Now that you can enter Razorthorn, you are in a position to help Oathmir. He wishes you to complete:

Samples of Corruption.

Really, only the person who is assigned the Samples of Corruption needs to have done the Maelin tasks.

Once Samples of Corruption is complete you may hand and Oathmir your Silent Harmonic Chime.

Oathmir the Outcast takes the tiny charm in his huge hands. He spins it slightly as it dangles from his thick fingers, staring at it intently.

Oathmir the Outcast says 'Yes, I think I understand. This is tuned to a place, but that place is not as I expected, much like my experience with Her. I think I can change this, make it more receptive to unexpected versions of the original place.'

He takes the pieces of the chime individually and rolls them between thumb and forefinger. Each time he does there is a loud and visible explosion and a creaking sound. These explosions are contained within the thick calluses of the giant's finger pads. Oathmir hums throughout, a deep sound like distant earthquakes. Once he has done this with each he hands the chime back to you.

Oathmir the Outcast says 'That might work for you, though I'm afraid I had to crush the magic that was there before to make the adjustment.'

You receive a Twisted Chime (first). Head back to Galsin.

You say, 'Hail, Arch Mage Galsin'

Arch Mage Galsin says 'The chime. . . What has been done to it? Were you able to find someone to modify it for you? Let me inspect it.'

Turn in this Twisted Chime to Arch Mage Galsin

Arch Mage Galsin says 'This has indeed been modified, but what happened to the enchantment that was on it? Who did you find to do this for you? Nevermind. . . We must find a way of restoring the enchantment to this chime before it can be tested. According to my book Ayonae bestowed the knowledge of these chimes upon the royal family in the Elddar Forest. Perhaps this is the [solution] we're looking for.'

Receive: Twisted Chime (second)

You say, 'What solution?'

Arch Mage Galsin says, 'With the opening of the portal back to the time of the Takish-Hiz empire we may have access to the powers needed to enchant the chime again. If you can find one of the royal bloodline they may be able to assist us in restoring the enchantment to the chime.'

You now need to seek Tak`Valnakor in Northern Desert of Ro and perform three tasks:

The Key to the Past
The Burning Prince
Message from the Past

Return to Queen Tak`Yaliz

You say, 'What Twisted Chime?'

Queen Tak`Yaliz says 'Your assistance to my people has been of great value to me. Let me see this chime you speak of and I will see what may be done.'

Turn in Twisted Chime (second):

Queen Tak`Yaliz says 'These magics are ancient and almost beyond my memory. I have done what I could for you in this. Perhaps it will prove enough.'

Receive Twisted Harmonic Chime (no effect).

Hand this no effect item to Arch Mage Galsin back in Arcstone, and receive Twisted Harmonic Chime and an AA called "Harmonic Dissonance" that lets you teleport to the Theater of Blood (15 minute cooldown).
Reward: Twisted Harmonic Chime

Black Orb of the Scrykin (Normal): This is a solo task but obtaining the required items takes a mixture of group and raid tasks, and normal grouping.

Apprentice Mage Sarcrynn may be found near the entrance to Relic at +130, -1040, but paths away to the north. He will return to his original spot after about 5 minutes.

You say, 'Hail, Apprentice Mage Sarcrynn'

Apprentice Mage Sarcrynn says 'All day long Ao has us wandering this blasted slope, hunting for spell components. He claims it's part of our training before we can become true mages of Relic. Bah, I think he just wants to keep us busy while he studies the [real magic].'

You say, 'What real magic?'

Apprentice Mage Sarcrynn says 'Ah, you want to know about the true power of the Plane of Magic then? Come closer then, let us speak more in hushed voices. I have overheard the Elder Scrykin talking of great things. . .'

You are now offered a task selection dialog.

You have been assigned the task 'Black Orb of the Scrykin'.

Sacrynn says, "The original thirteen scrykin were created by Druzzil Ro herself. Because they were created directly by a divine being, they are infused with an extra bit of magic that not present in any of the other scrykin. Over time, this extra magic coagulated in the center of their bodies, forming an orb of concentrated power. If you can find all the orbs of the original thirteen scrykin, I can combine them for you into the Black Orb of the Scrykin, a sphere of untold power."

"Six of the original thirteen scrykin are still alive. Their black orbs can be extracted only once the elder scrykin is defeated. Speak with Or'Sarro and he will help you find them."

Or`Sarro, the Youngest is located in Arcstone at +205, -975, +410. He gives out the raid and group tasks for the elder scrykin.

"As for the remaining seven orbs, these come from the scrykin that died long ago during the battle with the dragon Skylance. No one knows what has since become of these ancient orbs, but we do know that they have turned grey with the passage of time. They are likely scattered across the Plane of Magic by now, held in the hands of the more powerful denizens of this place."

Recover the Black Orb of Daosheen the First
Recover the Black Orb of Porthio the Second
Recover the Gray Orb of Varo the Third
Recover the Gray Orb of Ao the Fourth

Credit is given for handing in Orbs to Apprentice Mage Sarcrynn, not for obtaining them. Thus, you can start to gather Orbs before requesting this task. Upon handing in the last one:

Your task 'Black Orb of the Scrykin' has been updated.
The Black Orb of the Scrykin has been assembled!
Your faction standing with Fledgling Scrykin has been adjusted by 100.

You have been given: Black Orb of Scrykin
You have completed achievement: Black Orb of Scrykin (Raids 65+)
Reward: Black Orb of Scrykin

Daosheen the Firstborn [Raid] (Normal): This is a 54-person raid task with a six hour time limit.

Of the original thirteen scrykin, only six are still alive. They have decayed to the state of true monstrosity and insanity. They must be brought down before they endanger the Plane of Magic itself.

Daosheen the Firstborn has not left the tower in over one hundred years. Be cautious when entering his chamber, as no one knows what he may have created there. Rumors abound that he has assembled several tons of magical crystal mined from the quarries of Arcstone.

  • 1. Enter Skylance Tower - Arcstone

    You say, 'Hail, Arkahn'

Arkahn says 'Greetings, ______. I am Arkahn the Gatekeeper of Skylance. Ao has instructed me to wait here for your arrival. I cannot help you overtly, but I will serve as your guide while you remain in this tower. Tell me, where are you headed? The [oubliette]? The [library]? The [laboratory]? Or perhaps [Daosheen's study]? I can direct you to all these chambers.'

    You say, 'Daosheen's study.'

Arkahn says 'Daosheen has just unlocked his study for the first time in many years. He must be expecting you. Follow my familiar to the top of the ramp. Beyond the portal, you will meet Daosheen the Firstborn of all scrykin.'

Arkahn's Familiar is Firefeather, and he moves up to the very top of the ramp and stays there.

  • 2. Engage Daosheen the Firstborn - Skylance

  • 3. Kill Daosheen the Firstborn - Skylance

For this raid, it is recommended four people (preferably with feign death) get designated as 'crystal clickers' (more on this in a moment).

Daosheen hits for ~5000; AE rampages (mitigated to ~2200).

He is slightly slowable; average resists; sees invisibility; does not see Shroud of Stealth.

He may look it, but is not permanently rooted. He has no tether and will even follow you through the portal to the lobby of Skylance.

Spawns adds called "a crystal spirit" (mezzable): Four adds at 90% (one at each crystal); eight adds at 80, 70, 60, and 50% (two at each crystal); and 12 adds at 40, 30, 20, and 10% (three at each crystal).

He casts four spells on random people throughout the encounter. They are cured by clicking on a crystal: Plague of Mana (green); Presence of the Firstborn (red); Curse of the Firstborn (yellow) ; Smothering Dismay (blue).

Beginning at 75%, he begins AEing Runes of Alliance and Aura of Stone. These spells land on about 25 people at a time. This is where the 'crystal clickers' come in. A two-click combination cures these spells: yellow-green cures Runes of Alliance, while red-blue cures Aura of Stone.

At about 10% and again at about 5%, he AEs the spell Doom of the Firstborn. The 'crystal clickers' need to do a four-click combination to cure this: red, yellow, blue, green. You have approximately 12 seconds to do this.

Note that if Daosheen is killed before the final wave of adds despawn, the adds will remain up and need to be killed. Note also that if a charmed player gets the killshot on Daosheen with a DoT, the task will not update and the corpse will disappear.

Upon his death, Daosheen drops loot, and all task members are rewarded with a Black Orb of Daosheen the First.

Those crystals will need to be studied further. Perhaps there is a greater use for them. However there is a more important issue at hand. With your defeat of Daosheen, Druzzil has agreed to speak with you. Seek her out and see what may come of the meeting. Reward: Bazu Stone
    Reward: Scrykin Blood
Reward: Black Orb of Daosheen the First
Reward: Ethereal Guard of the Scrykin
    Reward: Crystal Pendant of Force
Reward: Badge of the Skylance Guard
    Reward: Drum of Ethereal Thunder
    Reward: Prismatic Crystal Fragment
Reward: Malformed Veil of the Firstborn
    Reward: Crystal Globe of Spirits

Entrance to Daosheen's Chamber (Normal): This is a solo task.

I have overheard the Elder Scrykin talking of great things. . .'

You have been assigned the task 'Entrance to Daosheen's Chamber'.

Bring Sarcrynn the Dragon Tooth of Shar`Drahn (0/1) - Arcstone
Bring Sarcrynn the Dragon Tooth of Tsikut (0/1) - Arcstone
Bring Sarcrynn the Dragon Tooth of Ashenback (0/1) - Arcstone
Bring Sarcrynn a Fragment of Porthio's Shadow Staff (0/1) - Arcstone
    Speak with Or`Sarro (0/1) - Arcstone

Daosheen is the firstborn of the scrykin lineage but you won't find him anywhere on Relic. He has locked himself in the highest room in Skylance tower and he has not come out in many years. Only Druzzil knows what arcane secrets he has unriddled in there. If you seek the true magic of this plane, then you need to enter Daosheen's room.

To break the seal on the portal to his chamber, you need to bring me the following items from the bodies of Daosheen's lieutenants. I can use them as spell components to weaken his power and allow us both entry to his chamber. It's not right that he keeps such secrets locked away for himself.

After giving Sarcrynn the three teeth and staff fragment, you will need to speak with Or`Sarro at the entrance to Relic.

You say, 'Hail, Or`Sarro the Youngest'

Your task 'Entrance to Daosheen's Chamber' has been updated.

Excellent work, my friend. While you were away, I was able to recover this scroll. I'm not sure what it proves beyond Daosheen's obvious insanity, but it may offer you some clues as to what he's been building in his study all these years. With your help, Daosheen's reign of madness will soon come to an end.

Your faction standing with Fledgling Scrykin got better.
You have been given: Crystals of the Firstborn

You can now request the Daosheen the Firstborn raid.

    Reward(s):
Crystals of the Firstborn Reward: Crystals of the Firstborn

Frinkle's Fear of Falling (Normal): You say, 'Hail, Frinkle Geerlok'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'No! You can't make me move closer to the [edge]!'

You say, 'Move closer to the edge.'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'What are you crazy? I might [fall]!'

    You say, 'Fall?'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'If I fall, I will keep going and never [stop]!'

    You say, 'Never stop?'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'Well, maybe if you get me a [few things] I will be able to keep myself from falling.'

    You say, 'What few things?'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'Get me a Metal Rod, a High Quality Horse Skin, a Backpack Pattern and a Sewing Needle. Once you do, I will even tell you what I am making.'

    Hand in the items.

Frinkle Geerlok says 'Great! With this I can make my own flotation device. You make it with two metal rods, Nantik's anti-gravity unit, treated aligned steel thread, sealant, high quality horse skin, backpack pattern, gnomish heat source, and infused dark matter. Don't forget to use a sewing needle. I also have a new device useful for making [flat wood].'

This recipe creates a Geerlok Floatation Pack, rechargeable in a toolbox with Infused Dark Matter.

You say, 'What about flat wood?'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make this device you simply need a base prototype, 2 gears, 2 sprockets, gnomish bolts, belt of leathery fungus flesh, and a [laminator roller].'

    You say, 'Laminator roller?'

    [I don't even know 'er!]

Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make a roller you simply need to pound a small brick of high quality steel into shape with a smithy hammer and quench it with water. Don't forget your [laminator blade].'

    You say, 'Laminator blade?'

Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make your blade, melt your small brick of high quality steel into a thin blade mold, quench it with water and use your file to be sure it is sharp.'

This recipe crafts a Geerlok Laminating Device.
Mark of the Spirits (Incomplete): The revised version of this task replaced the older version of this task plus the separate sub-tasks to kill each mob.

Spirit Hunter Elijo may be found at -285, +1685.

You say, 'Hail, Spirit Hunter Elijo'

Spirit Hunter Elijo says 'Shhh. The spirits are listening! What I am about to say can only be said in a whisper. Lean in close if you want to [know] what looms beyond the edge of this camp.'

You say, 'I want to know.'

Spirit Hunter Elijo says 'The other individuals at this camp came to be here as the result of various magical accidents. My son Azmaro and I are the only ones who arrived deliberately, by sheer force of will. For many days we tracked a spirit through a blizzard in Everfrost. When the spirit learned that our resolve could not be shaken, it fled here and we followed. We are among the few who understand the spirits of this isle! They possess [great power].'

    You say, 'Great power?'

Spirit Hunter Elijo says 'The power of a spirit is destructive but is not meant to harm. It is meant as a test. If you are able to survive the test, a piece of the spirit's power becomes yours. That is why they are here with us on this island. They are meant as a challenge! Only a hunter of unsurpassed strength will be able to survive an encounter with these spirits and learn the secrets of this island. We are recovering from our latest hunt but you may carry on the struggle, if you are [ready] to depart.'

    You say, 'I am ready.'

Spirit Hunter Elijo says 'Excellent. I suggest you gather a group of capable adventurers and set out with dawn's first light. Let the hunt begin.'

Sharlash the Ninth Born (Normal): You say, 'Hail, Or`Sarro the Youngest'

Or`Sarro the Youngest says 'I am Orsarro, the youngest of all scrykin, [created] only days before you arrived. '

    You say, 'Who created you?'

Or`Sarro the Youngest says 'Druzzil Ro, the goddess of magic, created me specifically to relay instructions to you. The powers of this plane guard her jealously. You will have to fight your way past them to reach her.'

You are offered 2 raids and 3 group tasks...

Of the original thirteen scrykin, only six are still alive. They have decayed to the state of true monstrosity and insanity. They must be brought down before they endanger the Plane of Magic itself.

Sharlash the Nine Born lives on Relic. He has become obsessed with golem construction and toils night and day to build the most powerful golems imaginable. Find him and kill him before he gets his hands on the Codex Artifice. Once he has that, he will set about creating something large enough to threaten the foundation of Relic, something even larger than his latest creation, the Colossus of Skylance.

Sharlash falls to the ground. You see a glittering gemsstone amidst the scrykin's tar-like remains.

Your faction standing with Fledgling Scrkin got better.
You have been given; Black Orb of Sharlash the Ninth Reward: Black Orb of Sharlash the Ninth

Skylance: The Laboratory (Normal): This task follows the Skylance: The Oubliette task.

Since you have recovered the Egg of Tallongast, Ao has learned more about the scrykin prototype. The reason Tallongast was never hatched is because he bears an advanced version of the weakness common to all scrykin. He will absorb power from the plane of magic like a lightning rod and this power will drive him insane far faster than a normal scrykin. Within Tallongast's first few seconds of life, he will become a monster. Within a few moments more he will become unstoppable and completely out of control. This is why the Egg of Tallongast was never hatched...

Go to the laboratory of Skylance and follow these instructions to hatch the egg of Tallongast. You know what you must do from there to recover the Chime of Ayonae Ro. Make it quick.

The person who gets this task is given The Incubated Egg of Tallongast.

Spirit of Ao th Forth Born says "Good luck, ____. Once you find your way into Skylance Tower, speak with my student, Arkahn. He is waiting for you there."

Head into Skylance. This is an instance.

    You have entered Skylance.

    You say, Hail, Arkahn'

Arkahn says "Greetings, ____. I can direct you to all these chambers.

You say, 'How about the Laboratory?'

Arkahn says "The laboratory lies beyond the second portal up the ramp. Follow my familiar to the gate. Mind the equipment. Many skrykin artificers have created guardians to protect their workspace."

Head into the lab. Go to the center table and place the egg on your cursor. Hit your 'use' key to spawn the egg on the table. Three lab attendants spawn, coinciding with an emote in red text.

This text can be directed to its own chat window by specifying Filter -> Other. If it is in the same window as combat spam you risk missing it - or having it scroll off the log before you have finished killing the lab attendants.

Every time you successfully answer the emote's directions, a single level 70-72 lab attendant will spawn. These mobs are KOS and wander the upper area where the equipment controls are.

    Every time you fail....

The machines in the lab, hiss violently and spit steam. You're pretty sure that was the wrong switch.

...and a zombie spawns and attacks. You will then have to start from the beginning.

There are eight emotes, and all eight need to be done correctly and in order. The emotes and their translations are as follows:

Remove the necrotic portions of the tissue.

On the north platform, click the table with tools on it (farther from the center of the zone).

Use the Trans-Injector to infuse the essence of magic into the egg.

On the north platform, click the pedestal (closer to the center of the zone).

From the ether, call out to the spirits willing to aid you in this experiment.

On the east platform, click the pillar with the dome on it (farther from the center of the zone).

A good dose of ethereal goo needs to be applied next.

On the east platform, click the pedestal (closer to the center of the zone).

The Dispenser has the next critical component.

On the south platform, click the device that looks like a gumball machine (farther from the center of the zone).

Switch on the Hyper-Manipulator to align the proteins into their proper sequence.

On the south platform, click the pedestal (closer to the center of the zone).

Distill the magical spirits into their purest form.

On the west platform, click the still (farther from the center of the zone).

The Gaze-O-Rama should be used to confer the egg with greater sight.

On the west platform, click the pedestal (closer to the center of the zone).

Once the 8th emote is handled, Tallongast the Discarded will spawn. It hits for upwards of 2000
    .

Tallongast the Discarded has been slain by ____.

Your task `Skylance: The Laboratory' has been updated.

Amongst the sludge of the scrykin's contorted body, you find a small metal chime caked in tar. It will need to be cleaned by Ao the Fourth Born before it can be properly used.

Your faction with Fledgling Scrykin got better.
You have been given: Tarnished Chime.

Among the loot it may drop:

    Gem of Scrykin Magus
    Pendant of the Overspirit
    Scrykin Caster Blade

On handing the Tarnished Chime to Ao the Forth Born..

Ao the Forth Born cleans the chime that you received from Talongast (sic) the Protytype. `There,' he says. `This should be much more useful for you now.'

Skylance: The Library (Normal): This task begins with the Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born, found in Arcstone near the two portals to Relic.

You say, 'Hail, Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born'

Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born says 'Greetings, traveler. I am Ao, the Fourth Born of the [scrykin lineage].'

    You say, 'Scrykin lineage?'

Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born says 'We scrykin mark the attempts of Druzzil Ro to create organic life from magic. We are living creatures, just like you, but we are each born with a terrible [flaw].'

    You say, 'What flaw?'

Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born says 'We absorb ambient energy from the Plane of Magic. This makes us more powerful as we age, but also more hideous, more unpredictable, even more dangerous. All but the youngest of scrykin have become twisted monsters, creatures consumed by paranoia and delusion. I alone avoided this degeneration by abandoning my physical body and becoming a spirit. This was not an easy process, but it was the only way I could fulfill my promise to Druzzil. She has commanded me to help you and your [group] find the lost chime of Ayonae, the goddess of music.'

    You say, 'My group?'

Spirit of Ao the Fourth Born says 'Good luck, ______. Once you find your way into Skylance Tower, speak with my student, Arkahn. He is waiting for you there.'

Skrykin, flawed though they may be, are golems created with such complexity and skill that they are technically alive. The manual which Druzzil Ro authored during the creation of the scrykin race is known as the Codex Artifice. It lies hidden, locked away within the Library of Skylance. This book likely contains information on Ayonae's chime, an artifact created by the goddess of music herself.

Enter Skylance Tower and find the Codex Artifice. You will need the manual if Ao is to help you further.

    Enter Skylance Tower 0/1 (Arcstone)

Enter the Skylance Library 0/1 (Skylance)

If you're not sure where to go, you can hail Arkahn in the Skylance lobby. His familiar will lead you to the library portal.

    You say, 'Hail, Arkahn'

Arkahn says "Greetings, ____. I can direct you to all these chambers.

Once you port into the library, you'll find four wandering "a scrykin historian". You will most likely aggro two as soon as you enter the Library. These mobs respawn.

Speak to a sympathetic student 0/1 (Skylance)

Student Joban can be found at the bottom of the library.

    You say, 'Hail, Student Joban'

Student Joban says 'Greetings seeker of knowledge. Though scrykin ye not be, I can tell that the quest the for deep knowledge burns within thee.No doubt you seek the [Codex].'

    You say, 'What codex?'

Student Joban says 'Knowing the the power contained betwixt its dusty covers was enough to create life itself, the Magus in his wisdom has decreed that only one who manages to bring [both halves] of the Skylance symbol will be granted the Codex Artifice.'

    You say, 'Both halves?'

Student Joban says 'Aye, split in twain the symbol was. Each half bestowed upon one of his assistants. You must defeat both if you are ever to gaze upon the pages of the Codex and glean its secrets.'

Get Gareth's Half of the Token 0/1 (Skylance)

Kill "Assistant Gareth" on the platform on the right. He is rooted and will spawn a number of "a possessed book" during the fight.

Gareth commands one of the books nearby him to attack you!

Get Venorin's Half of the Token 0/1 (Skylance)

Kill "Assistant Venorin" on the platform on the left. He is rooted and will spawn a number of "a Skylance bookworm" during the fight.

From between the covers of dusty tomes appears a strange looking creature.

Turn in the Tokens to the Head Librarian 0/1 (Skylance

The Head Librarian is located on the platform at the rear.

Return the Codex to Ao 0/1 (Arcstone

    You gained party experience!
Your faction standing with Fledgling Scrykin got better.

A chest spawns in front of the spirit. Among the items it may contain:

    Clasp of the Fledgling Scrykin
    Mantle of the Spirit Warrior
    Mask of the Blessed
    Spirit Claw

    Possible trash drops:

    Eye of Ice
    Invisible Man Spirit Dust
    Vial of the Escaped Genie

Completing this task opens up a new task: "Skylance: The Oubliette." Reward: Mantle of the Spirit Warrior
    Reward: Mask of the Blessed
Reward: Clasp of the Fledgling Scrykin
    Reward: Spirit Claw
    Reward: Eye of Ice
Reward: Vial of the Escaped Genie
    Reward: Scrykin Farseer's Stone
    Reward: Invisible Man Spirit Dust

Skylance: The Oubliette (Normal): This group task becomes available after the 'Skylance: The Library' task is completed.

The Codex Artifice which you have recently recovered contains information detailing Druzzil's early attempts at creating a scrykin. During the time, Druzzil crafted the egg of Tallongast the Prototype, the entity that was to be the first scrykin. For reasons unknown, Tallongast was never hatched. According to the Codex Artifice however, Druzzil used a chime created by Ayonae Ro to be the voice of Tallongast. This may be the very chime you seek!

Enter Skylance Tower and find the Unhatched Egg of Tallongast the Prototype. It is hidden away in the oubliette, the dungeon below Skylance where all things go that are meant to be forgotten.

Enter Skylance Tower. (1/1) - Arcstone
    LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
    You have entered Skylance

    You say "Hail, Arkahn".

Arkahn says "Greetings, ____. I can direct you to all these chambers.

    You say, 'the oubliette'

Arkahn says 'The oubliette lies beyond the portal on this floor. Follow my familiar to the gate and be careful. The oubliette contains many forgotten magical creations, most of which are dangerous, unstable or, quite simply, not meant to see the light of day.'

Enter the Skylance Oubliette. (1/1) - Skylance

Recover the Egg of Tallongast the Prototype. (1/1) - Skylance

Each room in the Oubliette contains a cluster of pulsing eggsacks guarded by a number of low-hitting creeping swarmers. After clearing the mobs around a cluster, break eggs individually. Each egg pops a single level 71 underformed scrykin. Eventually you will find the right egg.. there will be no mob and the egg-breaker will receive the The Prototype Egg of Tallongast on their cursor.

The zone does repop and the task can be won on a repop as well as "fresh" eggsacks.

Return the Egg to Ao. (1/1) - Arcstone

A chest spawns with loot which may be the following:

    Battle-Forged Mace
    Manastitch Cape

Spirit Mark Armor (Normal): Lady Usher may be found outside one of the tents at the zone-in, at -200, +1685.

    You say, 'Hail, Lady Usher'

Lady Usher says 'Greetings, ______. You arrived here unannounced, as though carried in by the wind! At first I thought you were one of the spirits of this isle. Now that I see you up close, I realize you are solid and not [clouded] at the edges like they are. . .'

    You say, 'Clouded?'

Lady Usher says 'Yes, clouded. It is difficult to explain and almost impossible to see, unless you know how to look without expectation. Essentially the spirits of this isle adopt physical bodies, but these [bodies] are transient, existing for moments at a time'

    You say, 'What bodies?'

Lady Usher says 'When a spirit leaves its adopted body, it often leaves behind a spirit mark, in the same way we leave behind footprints. I've been studying these spirit marks since I arrived here. They can be used to forge powerful [armor].'

    You say, 'What armor?'

Lady Usher says 'I can help you create a suit of spirit-forged armor. Here are the ingredients you must gather first.'

    You say, 'Who created you?'

You are offered 2 raids and 3 group tasks...

Of the original thirteen scrykin, only six are still alive. They have decayed to the state of true monstrosity and insanity. They must be brought down before they endanger the Plane of Magic itself.

Thanus the Eleventh Born dwells in the artifact city of Relic. He values ice magic above all else and has frozen countless hapless students during his dangerous experiments. Find Thanus and end his life, before his madness spreads like the cold he wields.

Thanus falls to the ground. You see a glittering gemsstone amidst the scrykin's tar-like remains.

Your faction standing with Fledgling Scrkin got better.
You have been given; Black Orb of Thanus the Eleventh Reward: Black Orb of Thanus the Eleventh

Zomm the Seventh Born [Raid] (Normal): This is a raid task for up to 54 people.

Find Or`Sarro, the Youngest in Arcstone at +205, -975, +410.

You say, 'Hail, Or`Sarro the Youngest'

Or`Sarro the Youngest says 'I am Orsarro, the youngest of all scrykin, [created] only days before you arrived. '

You are offered 2 raids and 3 group tasks...

Of the original thirteen scrykin, only six are still alive. They have decayed to the state of true monstrosity and insanity. They must be brought down before they endanger the Plane of Magic itself.

Zomm the Seventh Born, once a great diviner of Relic, has since gone completely feral. He has abandoned his home in Relic and now wanders the isle of Arcstone where he conducts strange meditative experiments tailored to push his awareness beyond the known realms. No one knows what horrors Zomm has glimpsed during his year-long trances; the scrykin has not spoken a word in several centuries.

You have been assigned the task 'Zomm the Seventh Born [Raid]'.

The task consists of killing Zomm the Seventh Born in Arcstone. Among other abilities, Zomm flurries (how hard does he for? any other information?).

The seven eyes of Zomm that surround him cast a variety of spells:
    Gaze of Frost
    Gaze of Fire
    Gaze of Shadows
    Gaze of Fear
    Gaze of Confusion
    Gaze of Midnight
    Gaze of Petrifaction
