Besides EverQuest, what other MMORPGs have you played?
I've played no others significantly.

How did you find out about EverQuest, and when did you begin playing?
I read an article about the game while it was still in Beta and started playing the week it went live. A game that never ends... how intriguing!

How did you come up with your main character's name?
It just tends to roll off the tongue! Well, and the RNG suggested it.

What factors affected your choice of race / class for your main character?
Barbarians seemed to start out with the best starting statistics for a Rogue, and Halas is a tiny little city.

About how often do you play EverQuest, and how long is a typical playing session for you?
Typically, whether grouping or raiding, 2-3 hours is spent logged into the world.

How do you spend your time in game?
It's easier to say what time is not spent on, which would be tradeskills. The only one I use for the most part is Make Poison, and for any other combine I need made (that is over a 200 trivial) I can usually find help with, between guildies and other friends!

What other class/race combinations have you levelled past 35?
50 Human Paladin (Tunare server, very first character), 45 Dwarf Cleric, 50 Woodelf Druid, 55 Human Bard

Approximately how much of the EverQuest world have you experienced?
I've experienced all aspects of gameplay and zones in existence, up to current raiding content in Solteris. I enjoy the lore and unfolding of events, so I don't skip content!

What is your favourite expansion?
Planes of Power was my favorite expansion. It posed new challenges in the form of scripted raid events, which opened up a whole new step in the progression of Everquest as we know it today. The flagging system was annoying at times, but the addition of the 85/15 rule alleviated some of the stresses in backflagging. The Plane of Time was beyond anything prior to it’s time in Everquest, and was truly a pioneer for the content we have available today in both group and raid settings.

What is your least favourite expansion?
Legacy of Ykesha. There just wasn't a whole lot of significance to this expansion in relation to content, beyond the simple fact that a new expansion was released.

What is your favourite zone?
My favorite experience zone would currently be the Mechamatic Guardian instances off of Dragonscale Hills. Not only is the concept of fighting your way up a gigantic clockwork robot intriguing, but the layout and atmosphere of the zone is something I really enjoy. As for a favorite raiding zone...well I haven't technically been there quite yet, but I’m looking forward to the Fabled Plane of Time! From my experience so far though, Solteris seems to have a lot of promise.

What is your favourite NPC?
My favorite NPC is actually a group of NPCs: the game-wide network of bankers! From Halas to Erudin and RunnyEye to Skyshrine, there are bankers nearly everywhere! They hold onto all of my platinum as well as both significant and worthless junk items. It's a thankless job, so here's to you, Bankers of Norrath and beyond!

What is your favourite raid encounter (if different from NPC)?
My favorite raid encounter has been the totality of the Plane of Time. While playing at the top of your game (at the zone's prime), you still had to fight the clock in order to progress within the zone. This allowed for very few mistakes; a wipe could mean the loss of hours of hard work.

As for current content, my favorite raid would the Mayong encounter in the Demi-Plane of Blood. Granted I no longer raid this encounter on a regular basis, but the script itself is a great concept! "What, we just cleared the zone and in doing so made a God out of Mayong? Oops. Oh well, thanks for the extra loot and custom title!"

If the war between Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl erupted again, which side would you take?
Opposite the side with the best loot? /shrug I'm not particularly fond of either.

Describe your most memorable moment or proudest accomplishment in game.
I gain a sense of accomplishment every time a new raid encounter is defeated, with each step also bestowing memorable moments. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to progress from expansion to expansion, and Shahrazad consists of a team of players who not only play very well together, but have a great time in doing so! I’m not going to single out an encounter over another, but these moments are created over and over again throughout the course of the game.

What is the largest amount of platinum you have ever had at one time, and how did you go about accumulating it?
I'm not one for coming into a lot of pp. I've maybe had a few hundred thousand at the most at any given time.

What are some things you would change or implement in order to improve EverQuest?
Everybody always has suggestions to improve the game, but my suggestion would be to just go out and enjoy the experience of playing. If there's major aspects of the game you don't agree with, nobody's forcing you to play!

What types of spells, skills, disciplines, and/or alternate abilities would you like to see added to your class?
As a Rogue, an AE Corpse Drag always seemed like an interesting concept. I can't complain much as of the release of SoF though, since Rogues were given a lot of tools and helpful damage skills and AA's to improve our usefulness.

If you were responsible for organizing and running a GM event, what would it be and how would it play out?
It would involve Bristlebane recruiting players to help turn his Plane of Mischief back into its original state. I'm not sure what the specifics would be, but there would be much mischief and trickery of current zone mobs, forcing them to be banished from the zone. Bring back the Macarena Sphinx... the "pull my finger" Pinky hand... the puppets... Chuckles! Those were the days.

If you had to start over from scratch, what race/class combination would you choose?
I wouldn't change anything. I've grown to know not only my class but the Rogue community in general, and I wouldn't trade that in for any other experience.

What is next for you in the world of EverQuest?
I continue progressing through new content with my friends in Shahrazad, creating many lasting memories along the way. I also have many friends in the community and Bertox server, and you can't ask for any more than these things in an online game. A game is something you should do for entertainment and fun, and that's exactly what defines these things for me.

** Pick the winner in a battle between...

Qeynos vs Felwithe - Felwithe...ever seen Lord of the Rings? Those elves fire a mean bow and arrow!

Innoruuk the Prince of Hate vs Cazic Thule the God of Fear - Cazic would win, due to the summoning of his daughter to woo Innoruuk while he sneaks up as only a giant deformed beast can do and slays him.

Giants of Velious vs Akhevans of Luclin - Akhevans, no contest. What the Akhevans lack in size, they make up for in... arms?

Muramites of Discord vs the Drachnids of Darkhollow - Drachnids. They'll just mass-AE snare/DoT and kite them to oblivion.

Tradeskilling vs Questing - Questing. I'm too "salx" for tradeskilling, beyond Make Poison.

Instance Zones vs Static Zones - It's a tossup. Old school static zone raiding is hard to explain if you've never experienced it, but it sure was an experience! I rather enjoy being able to get an instance for an experience grind though. As for raiding, instancing ultimately doesn't change much in the long run. Guilds will always progress at their own rates, but they will not be held back by being blocked by others as was the case for many throughout the PoP expansion. Again though, the competition was still half the fun!

Monster Missions vs Project M (PvP as Monsters) - Project M! I remember the short-lived implementation of this and rather enjoyed creating a level 1 rat in the newbie zones and leveling up on... newbies!

Soloing vs Pick-Up Groups - I usually don't enjoy pick-up groups too often, but in the right setting they can be ok. I've never been able to solo much as a Rogue and still can't effectively experience as well solo as in a decent pick-up group. However, I can sneak around some places where others cannot and pick off some mobs to solo at times!

Guild Raiding vs Grouping With Friends - Are they not one and the same? If not, they should be!

GM (real people) Events vs Scripted (computerized) Events - I prefer the times of old when there would be dynamic GM-ran events. I remember partaking in the event resulting in the Butcherblock Hammer in Unrest, leading into DC, Butcherblock, Gfay, Crushbone and ending in Kaladim. It was a very fun time, but I sadly never see these kind of events any more. Now, it's "create a level 1 naked character and be in an arena FFA!" or something similar, with an iron ration reward and a title. What happened to the true GM events?

Arena Royal Rumble vs 1-on-1 Duel - The 1-on-1 duel is where true skill is shown. There's no cheating or ganging up on others. It's a class-vs-class basis, where classes should be the same for a true test of ability.

Faydwer vs Odus - The people of Odus blew a hole in their continent. Need I say more?

Kunark vs Velious - Velious. The battling factions concept was a great idea, and the FFA competition made for some interesting times!

Planes of Power vs Gates of Discord - PoP, obviously. I’ll give credit to GoD though, for it was a very, very challenging expansion at level 65 with AA's and gear available at the time!

Depths of Darkhollow vs Omens of War - Omens. Anguish was a zone that was set up quite well from a raiding point of view, especially with the ability to continue raiding for the acquisition of armor augments. The group and raid trials in MPG themselves were fun and challenging in and of themselves.

Bard vs Enchanter - With the nerfing of Ancient Mez, at least it won't simply be a mez-fest.

Monk vs Rogue - I plead the Fifth.

Paladin vs Warrior - The SK in the corner, playing dead and waiting for the Paladin or Warrior to die so they can hop up and finish off whoever is left standing?

Allakhazam vs Illia - Now you're just trying to trick me! However, Illia has quite an arsenal available when considering the entire Bestiary.
