Hobbies: ATVing, bowling. Family? Not yet -- too young for kids and a wife. Besides EverQuest, what other MMORPGs have you played? Guild Wars: I only played for about two hours and gave up on it. I've been thinking about starting it up again and giving it another try, just to remind myself, I guess, of how I didn't like it at all. How did you find out about EverQuest, and when did you begin playing? A friend started my addiction by letting me make a character on his account. I made my own account in 2004. Do you know anyone in real life who plays EverQuest? The man who got me addicted to the 'evercrack' itself. How did you come up with your main character's name? I just got back from visiting my Dad in California where we fished fresh water creeks for trout, with the lure that was the best I ever used. The brand was Panthermartin and I figured the name would sound good on a Vah Shir. What factors affected your choice of race / class for your main character? At the time it just sounded cool, basically. About how often do you play EverQuest, and how long is a typical playing session for you? I play too often because Biloxi has nothing to do, really, that doesn't cost money after Hurricane Katrina. A playing session is usually about 3-4 hours. How do you spend your time in game? Recently I've been getting tradeskills up, but now I'm back to getting experience. What class/race combinations have you levelled past 35? A level 36 Dark Elf Shadow Knight and my level 49 beastlord. Approximately how much of the EverQuest world have you experienced? I think less than half, especially since I'm only willing to buy expansion packs which have them all, instead of each one. Basically I have up to LDoN right now and I'll be buying the new pack, Secrets of Fawder, soon. What is your favourite expansion? The Shadows of Luclin, because it brought forth this great character of mine. What is your least favourite expansion? LDoN, because everyone stopped doing adventures when I had started EQ back up recently. What is your favourite zone? Don't have one. Actually it changes with level of course. If the war between Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl erupted again, which side would you take? Never heard of the war and don't know who they are. See! I'm kind of a newbie to people who have max level characters, but I'm not ashamed because remembering EVERYTHING about EverQuest is not a good thing, either. Describe your most memorable moment or proudest accomplishment in game. Most recently, finally finding the wolf in Broken Skull Island that resulted in me getting my Spell: Bond of the Wild. I was jumping for joy... (not really). What is the largest amount of platinum you have ever had at one time, and how did you go about accumulating it? On my account, 2k. I killed sand giants in South Ro for experience. I spent it on my other characters so I'm still poor. What are some things you would change or implement in order to improve EverQuest? For the people who don't have the expansions to zones such as Crescent Reach, make it so the stone doesn't appear in PoK. I've clicked on it and it causes me to go LD while running around PoK unable to click anything else thereafter. Needless to say I don't mess with that stone anymore. What types of spells, skills, disciplines, and/or alternate abilities would you like to see added to your class? I wish I could hit harder and have more hitpoints for my beastlord. If you were responsible for organizing and running a GM event, what would it be and how would it play out? I thought the riddle thing they did recently with the GM Riddle_Master was cool. So I would do a riddle scavenger hunt. Each clue would be another riddle. On top of that, I would have a different set of clues for each class on EQ, and each level range. So there is no unfairness. I'd make sure it was in a quest box instead of just the GM repeating himself to everyone too. The final prize would differ for each class and level range, remembering there's different quests for each one anyway. If you had to start over from scratch, what race/class combination would you choose? Something I haven't started yet, which would probably be a Rogue Barbarian since their stats seem best for the class. I have about four low level characters that I already started just to see how they play. But the rogue isn't one of them, and I do still want to try one. How do you describe EverQuest to your coworkers or computer-illiterate friends? It's an RPG that's online. Yep, that's all I really say, unless they need to know what an RPG is. What is next for you in the world of EverQuest? More fighting with my beastlord for experience, or searching for more quests. ** Pick the winner in a battle between... GM (real people) Events vs Scripted (computerized) Events - Scripted Events Arena Royal Rumble vs 1-on-1 Duel - Royal Rumble (never done one though) Bard vs Enchanter - Bard? All I know about enchanters is they have buffs. Monk vs Rogue - Monk Paladin vs Warrior - Warrior Allakhazam vs Illia - Allakhazam, but it's linked with Illia's Bestiary.
