Family? 1 Brother, 1 mother, 1 father, with empty coffee cans on our white picket fence. Besides EverQuest, what other MMORPGs have you played? I have dabbled in a few, and none seem to compare to the culture and history of EQ. How did you find out about EverQuest, and when did you begin playing? I found out about EQ through a chance meeting with Jeff Butler, the lead designer from Verant, who told me about a multi player online game he was starting, and gave me a free account. That was in 1998 and I've been playing ever since Do you know anyone in real life who plays EverQuest? Sure do: Itea, Zenai, Roranern, Leguvane, Faedder, Meade, Morgayn, Illy, Sykeera, and I'm sure there's more! How did you come up with your main character's name? I love K names, and after entering 10 or so ... Kitano got the nod! What factors affected your choice of race / class for your main character? Had I known the Druid would never get dual wield or that PoK would affect my taxi service, I would have went for something else. Also, I chose Surefall because I used to love listening to that guy say "Please don't disturb the Bears of Surefall Glade." About how often do you play EverQuest, and how long is a typical playing session for you? I play 4-6 days a week for 3-5 hours. I know, a total sadist, huh! How do you spend your time in game? Mostly questing, factioning, and searching for Hot Darkies / phat Lewtz! What other class/race combinations have you levelled past 35? Wood Elf Ranger, Darkie SK, Vah Shir Beastlord. Approximately how much of the EverQuest world have you experienced? Every zone, from VT, to Solteris! with the new SoF raid zones missing. What is your favourite expansion? Luclin, as it was before raiding became mainstream, and there was so much going on from day to day in every zone. It was the golden age of EQ. What is your least favourite expansion? POP, as the insane flagging started the push to centralized raiding guilds. A lot of people left. What is your favourite zone? Stonebrunt! I was there the day after its creation, and seeing that zone was both awe inspiring and fantastic. What is your favourite NPC? Fippy, all my toons get leveled up in Qeynos just to play whackagnoll with his head! What is your favourite raid encounter (if different from NPC)? I always liked Vish, because seeing at least 4 people run around not knowing they were gonna die and thinking they had a chance to save themselves was classic. If the war between Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl erupted again, which side would you take? Firiona, she's the hottest non-Darkie I know of. Describe your most memorable moment or proudest accomplishment in game. The day Subliminal Realm beat Vishimtar for the first time. We stayed so late and were so drained, and gave it a last hurrah anyway and nailed it! What is the largest amount of platinum you have ever had at one time, and how did you go about accumulating it? 3 million, by taking advantage of every soloable lewt mob during every expansion (Track 4 The win!). What are some things you would change or implement in order to improve EverQuest? Add more titles to the name selection, bring back some effectiveness of knowing all the languages, throw in some multi-expansion quests that really distinguish who the committed people are (think hand aug or BiC). What types of spells, skills, disciplines, and/or alternate abilities would you like to see added to your class? Dual Wield OMG! Naw, I'd like to see us get a real Heal Over Time, or an upgraded Complete Heal, or an AA xp rez would be nice. If you were responsible for organizing and running a GM event, what would it be and how would it play out? I would shut down PoK, and have some old school mob take it over (Vox, Naggy?). Then the entire server would have to reunite in order to take it back, and until done PoK stays hostile and deadly. If you had to start over from scratch, what race/class combination would you choose? Dwarf Berserker! because you drink beer, and hack at stuff! How do you describe EverQuest to your coworkers or computer-illiterate friends? I don't even bother anymore. People who dont play dont understand, case closed! What is next for you in the world of EverQuest? See SoF, make some more friends, enjoy some epic battles! Be there at the 10 year anniversary! ** Pick the winner in a battle between... Qeynos vs Felwithe - Qeynos, they got Fippy. Innoruuk the Prince of Hate vs Cazic Thule the God of Fear - Neither, they don't have Fippy. Giants of Velious vs Akhevans of Luclin - Akhevans, the Giants are posers. Muramites of Discord vs the Drachnids of Darkhollow - Muramites, those guys are icky scary! Tradeskilling vs Questing - Questing, TSing is when the game has lost all hope for you! Instance Zones vs Static Zones - Static, fight for your camp -- don't let those squatters near ya! Monster Missions vs Project M (PvP as Monsters) - Project M, I fully support PVP! Soloing vs Pick-Up Groups - Pick up Groups, nothing spells loving like wiping a group of people you don't know! Guild Raiding vs Grouping With Friends - How about guilding with friends? GM (real people) Events vs Scripted (computerized) Events - Scripted events, GMs have no power and seldom keep control. Arena Royal Rumble vs 1-on-1 Duel - Royal Rumble, 1v1 is for people with no friends! Faydwer vs Odus - Faydwer, and we take the erudite women too. Kunark vs Velious - Kunark, Venril ownz! Planes of Power vs Gates of Discord - GoD, the worst pathing zone in the history of EQ. Depths of Darkhollow vs Omens of War - Omens, WoS was one of the remergences of the pick up group. Bard vs Enchanter - Bards (unbeatable in pvp) Monk vs Rogue - Rogue (monks wear leather) Paladin vs Warrior - Warrior (paladins vs non-undead suck!) Allakhazam vs Illia - ALLAH (represent)
