To be honest I saw the scene and just thought Cersei takes issue with the timing, the place and their firstborns corpse lying next to them. Does she not kiss him back a couple of times?

She does, a couple times as she's sliding to the floor against the altar, in between saying "It's not right". As Jaime says he doesn't care (if it's not right). Paws at him a bit. Then once he's got her on the ground she's stopped kissing, pushes against his chest once or twice, then just says "Stop it". The whole thing comes off as it being a "Not here, not now" objection (rape in the real world, none the less). But definitely not opposed to the act of sex with him, just the time and place.

That was my impression, too. And the director's...

What are we discussing again?

Director being a product of rape culture, based on an article which takes an interview quote out of context and places it into the context of something that happened one week after it was said. And the lack of any meaningful reaction to the events which happened in the latest episode, which were the last scenes aired with any of the characters which would have been involved in or witnessed the events.

Eh, the scene didn't bother me much. The part that bothered me was the fact that they were right beside their dead son.

Consider the era. Rigor mortis. The kid is a sex toy.

Oh. And am I the only person who half expected the damn body to fall on them as a result of them sliding down the side of the altar (cause of the whole draped cloth hanging down the sides bit)? I suppose that might have come off as slapstick comedy, but still... Comedy gold!

Or at least knock off those eye stone things. They jostled the altar enough.

Craster's sons are White Walker... nobility? (I guess, for a lack of a better term). I'm assuming the figures seen out of focus all dressed in clothing that was not rotten and tattered, and were not dead corpses like the army heading south, were all sons of Craster.

The tv story is full of revelations. So much time spent at the wall last night.

The rape scene should have been Brienne on Jaime - that would have been hot.

I think I'm going for the Brienne hair-do.

My understanding is that the White Walkers are magical mythical creatures that haven't been seen for ages, and are just now re-appearing. This showed us how they are created/propagated/whatever. The zombies are just that: Zombies. Dead people reanimated (presumably by the White Walkers, but that's not totally clear yet). Those you can just burn. White Walkers require dragon stuff to kill (dragon glass or dragon steel). I'm kinda assuming they are the yin to the dragons yang in this world.

Good episode though. Didn't introduce a lot of "new" events, but did have a lot of exposition and explanation.

Pretty much everything with Jon and Bran and the Walkers was a radical departure from the books. Not necessarily a bad thing, depending on where they're going with it, but worth mentioning.

The Margery/Tommen relationship is pretty divergent as well, but Tommen himself is a very different character being introduced as a tween with a personality versus simply a cute little kid.

The scene between Margery and Tommen reminded me a lot of what happened between Ilithyia and Numerius in the first season of Spartacus. Without the nudity (and possibly other stuff... they did mention after that scene how Numerius looked more grown up...), as of yet at least. I imagine in the future she'll use all her abilities on him.

I'm waiting for the outrage over how in the real world "it's our little secret" is commonly used by child molesters to convince their victims not to tell anyone about what's happening. Where's Laura Hudson when we really need her!

It's not molestation when it's a young boy and an attractive woman. It's just one lucky boy.

Maybe it's time to accept that you're not the best judge of real world reactions.

There's nothing untoward about a 'secret' in and of itself. Margery kissed the kid on the forehead. If/when it goes further we'll see what kind of outrage it elicits.

Fwiw, in the book-story up til this point, the reader is given no indication of anything of a sexual nature between Margery and Tommen

I thought he was younger than that. The outrage that gbaji was expecting about 'possible pedophilia' however makes the age difference irrelevant.

Fun to hate on gbaji and all, but he wasn't expecting any outrage, he was being purposefully obtuse, mocking the article that the last page or two had been discussing, and by extension, Dig.

He's 6 at the onset of "A Game of Thrones". A few years have gone by in the books by now, though with the recast you would think it was several years.
