Would you have positive feelings if you were always stopped and frisked like a criminal?
Here's the problem though. Unless you know people who are police, or go out of your way to interact with police, aren't the only interactions you're *ever* going to have with them be of that nature? A police officer either stops you or does not. if every time a police officer stops you, you consider it some kind of violation of your rights, then that's going to form your entire opinion of the police. Somewhat by definition, if a police officer stops you, he suspects you of some form of violation of the law, and thus will "treat you like a criminal".
Honestly, how you respond to this situation has a massive effect on how pleasant or unpleasant the stop is. And in this case, it's something that builds on itself. If you assume the cop has bad intentions towards you, you're going to be very negative towards him. You're going to question why he stopped you, be argumentative with him, etc. And he's going to interpret this as you being a potential threat, and be more likely to be on guard towards you. You'll sense that and be on guard towards him. And the whole situation escalates. And when that happens, the odds of someone getting hurt increase dramatically.
And yeah, going into the situation upset that the mere act of stopping you means he's "treating me like a criminal", probably isn't helpful.
